    Destroyed $2500 fridge
    Tina B.

I used Cardinal moving to move my home. I specified that I had two actual bed room suits to move but I had a 1200 sq ft both upstairs and downstairs to move along with appliances. This is the damage that was done to my property. My $2500 fridge was disassembled with a pair of PLIARS. They didn't even know that they could remove the handles to the fridge until I showed them (I am a banker...not a mover) The movers were at my house from 9 Am until 3 Am the NEXT morning when I asked them to leave. They had to send another crew out the second day to get the stuff the first crew was not able to get. I also had to pay for the additional day. I was without a fridge until Sunday of which has a broken handle and dents everywhere not to mention a broken water line that was ripped out of the unit when the movers dropped the door. I just spoke with the moving company and they feel as if they should be able to send a repair technition out to fix my fridge and the broken furniture. They however admitted that they cannot get the massive dents out of my fridge. So, they are going back to the contract and will only reimburse me $60 for the dents. This move cost me $3000.00...and a fridge. While they are reimbursing me the amount of time it took while their staff destroyed my fridge, they basically accused me of not being honest about the amount of stuff I had to move. I work in customer service and this an EXTREMELY POOR way to do business. I am beyond pissed. Do yourself a favor and don't use Cardinal Moving unless you want a nightmare like I experienced. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The movers were courteous and punctual but this move costed us more than it should have. My partner wanted to load the tv to his car because he was scared of it being damaged. The movers advised him against it. They said they transport TVs all the time and to just load it in the truck, and not worry about it. Lo and behold, our TV is damaged and irreparable. So we spent $700 on the movers, and now we're gonna spend another $300 for a brand new TV. They were quick to send us a reimbursement check but because we signed a contract that they wont pay for a damaged TV, they did not cover the whole amount. I just wish we weren't given that kind of assurance by the movers. Just a heads up if you're gonna use this service. Overall, very disappointed.

    Scarred door frame

The movers broke a server, broke the glass on an antique furniture piece. Forgot a few pieces , broke a leg off of an antique cedar chest, a legacy from a great grandparent. They took a door off the hinges to get a piece in the house. I reinstalled the door around midnight. The bed supports weren't connected well, one fell off and the others weren't touching the floor. They also banged up the door frame. They did do a decent job when moving the refrigerators.

Amazing service! My husband and I both have health issues and I'm not sure we would have survived the move without Jacob D and Thomas D. Both of them were excellent and extremely friendly. Would not suggest any other way to move. 10/10!!

    Stair and wall damage

Caution: Use Cardinal Moving (Louisville, KY) at Your Own Risk! I decided to support a local moving company, Cardinal Movers, instead of opting for a major moving company. Unfortunately, this decision turned out to be a huge mistake. I initially spoke with Patrick at Cardinal, discussing the delicate task of moving century-old furniture with immense sentimental value. Patrick assured me that their most experienced team, the "A-Team," would handle the move with the utmost care and expertise. However, the reality I faced was the complete opposite. The movers, while polite, demonstrated incompetence. They attempted to move the furniture without disassembling it, an absolute necessity given the age and fragility of these precious heirlooms. The disaster unfolded when they neglected to remove drawers and the marble top from a century-old dresser with a mirror attachment. As the movers maneuvered the piece down the stairs, the marble top slid off, shattering into several parts and sending slivers of marble scattering across the room. I found the dresser's mirror attachment already downstairs, but they had moved it without removing the marble and left the removable top above the mirror on. Fortunately, it was still in one piece. This incident caused irreparable damage to the irreplaceable marble top and extensive damage to other property. Multiple stair steps are gouged with one broken, the carpet at the base of the stairs is torn, and the drywall has a large divot at the midway landing. The movers expressed remorse and repeatedly admitted negligence for trying to move the dresser without removing the marble top. The move was canceled, of course. I was told to contact their office and spoke to Stephen, as the Manager, Bryan, was unavailable. Stephen sent a claim form, which I completed, and attached photographic evidence of the damaged dresser, stairs, and wall. Cardinal's response (Stephen) was far from satisfactory. He said a "Repair Technician" would be sent out to assess the damage, concluding his message with an enthusiastic "Thank you!" This response does not align with the gravity of Cardinal's negligence and the subsequent consequences. There was no mention of how to address the damaged furniture. The focus was on repairing the significant damage done to the home. It's disappointing that a local moving company like Cardinal has disregarded their responsibility and downplayed their negligence instead of taking proper steps to address the impact. Based on my experience, I strongly caution anyone considering Cardinal Movers to think twice and weigh the potential risks. Support for local businesses is important, but not at the expense of your cherished possessions and property. I will continue to update this post as the situation unfolds.

I checked after they left and the coupons were gone. Hired them again in 2022 to move into a one bedroom apartment in St Matthew's. When they got there they did not give enough time to direct them where I wanted things, they broke one of my lamps, and I lost a box with pictures and 3 small mini cameras. My last move, I used a moving organizer She used these guys. When we got to the new apartment, again I went into my bedroom and checked my two Chester drawers. Again, the drawers had clothes stuffed into drawers they did not belong in, a pair of jeans that should have been with the clothes in the walk in closet, and they spilled a large bowl of change I had in my Chester drawers. I did have a bill of lading from one of the big boy moving companies so he would have an idea of the size of the load. I was able to give him the weight of the load as well as the cubic feet of the load that the national moving company had in their truck. I did explain since i had been in Louisville I had purchased new washer and dryer, a new couch, a new chair and a new table and chairs for the kitchen. He walked the house and saw what I had which most of it was still boxed from my previous move in October of 2022. He stated that a 26-foot box truck would easily accommodate my household belongings. At first he quoted me an hourly rate of $50/hr for his people to pack and load then unload. Then he quoted me a hard number of $4,300 to pack, load a 26 foot truck, drive it to Indianapolis, unload and assemble items like beds, tables and such. I received another quote from a local mover which was a little lower but since Corey seemed more professional and seemed to know what he was doing I chose Alpha Moving. The three guys showed up pretty much when scheduled, one was a little late but we all got into packing the boxes I had saved from my previous move. I was working and packing as much as they were. I bought the three of them lunch and we got back at it. Afterwards I gave them all a $20 for their efforts. On the moving day they were supposed to return between 9 and 10 AM. Robert, one of the other owners, called me at about 9:20 to say that U-Haul did not give him any blankets and that he would need to return to the U-Haul store to get some. (My thought was, wouldn't you notice that before you leave the store and not while you are driving to my house? How does that happen? Did he stop for breakfast and look in the truck? Why didn't he notice when he was there?) Robert finally arrived after 10 AM and the guys started loading. As they got closer to the back of the truck there seemed to be more close conversations between them. They came to me and asked if I can take some items with me in my SUV which I reminded them that I had two large dogs that have been wandering around the house that I will be taking with me. Then they decided that they would place some items, as much as they could, into one of the employees cars. They finally came back to me and said that everything would not fit into the truck and they would either need to rent a trailer or they could have another employee drive his personal pick up (Ford Ranger) and fit as much as they could in that for another $300.00. I told them that I was ensured by Corey that everything would fit into a 26-foot box truck with ease. I told them that I work in an industry that when you give a price you live by it. Well Corey and Robert did not and were charging me the added $300 to get my belongings to my new house. Before we left they were sliding a glass tabletop to a desk into the truck and it shattered into over a million pieces. There was glass everywhere! It took them forever to sweep it out of the truck and on to the driveway and then pick it up off of the driveway using my broom and dustpan. We finally got all loaded and ready for our trek north at around 2 PM. I knew this had the makings of a very long day already. They offloaded the furniture first so I was able to direct where each piece was to go without issue. When they began offloading the boxes that was a different story. They had some boxes that were not labeled so they inevitably ended up in the wrong room. When they finally got everything unloaded we were all standing near the front door and I thanked them for their efforts. I gave them each a $20 again and told them I wish I could give them more but that I was still upset about being charged an extra $300 for Corey underestimating the size of the truck/equipment need to move my belongings and I was going to give each one of them a $50 bill but that they would need to see Corey for it. At that time Robert told me that it all most likely would have fit in this truck but he noticed early on that when they had started packing the front of the truck there were "pockets" and open spaces and the truck should have been packed better and "tighter" than it was. At this point one of the more seasoned employees turned around and walked out the door. I believe he was upset that Robert had just thrown him under the bus in front of a client. So we ended up settling on $300 for the cost of the glass tabletop but they charge an extra 3 or 4% if you use a credit card so they charged me $150 so my total bill was $4450.00 all in. As I have been unpacking I have noticed that one particular box is missing from my many boxes. I have texted Corey to see if either of the two Alpha employees have found the box in their vehicles but he has not responded at all in well over 72 hours which is very bad business.
