Drick is passionate about teaching the community how to handle firearms safely and obtaining the necessary paperwork to do so legally. You will literally have a "blast!" taking this class. I am not currently a gun owner, but I wanted to educate myself on proper usage and the laws regarding gun ownership. I didn't know what to expect but whatever my expectations were, they were greatly exceeded! They were novices such as myself in the class as well as current gun owners and prior military; this was a co-ed class. They had refreshments available, to include good coffee. This is a Black owned business, and I was happy to patronize. I also purchased a unit of pepper gel and a book during our break. We did not go to the range during this class but were told we could go on our own time. I tried to use the "contact us" section of the website to get info about scheduling my range practice. I did not get a response, but this review reminded me to look at pictures I'd taken during class. I have emails and telephone numbers for the instructors, so I'll be reaching out tomorrow. If you're considering taking a course or purchasing a fire arm, you won't be disappointed using Black Diamond.

I attended the class to get my certificate to apply for the NC concealed carry permit, but I left class with so much more. I next enrolled in the CWP class which was very informative. Information was provided in a factual yet friendly way. After taking the written test, we went to the range for the performance portion. Yet, I had a penchant for attracting gun collectors and merchants. Guns have always been a part of my life. After taking his beginner and introduction gun class, I was impressed with his simple, calm, and easy to understand instructions. He, also, put a lot of emphasis on gun safety and maintenance. Safety is my biggest concern. My girl friend carried a gun in her car at 16 but was not well instructed in gun safety. What happened with her gun always haunted me to this day. I cleaned a gun for the first time in my life in his class. I took his class at a private residence and shot at an indoor shooting range. I used a semi automatic Smith & Wesson Bodyguard hand gun. I would highly recommend Bobby Blanton as a gun instructor. His class was very memorable and the hours flew by quick.

They also have enough insight to recognize that students arrive with widely varying skill levels and prior exposure. Their blocks of instruction are thoughtfully sequenced and clearly articulated, allowing trainees to absorb complex material at a manageable pace while progressively building confidence. Although some of the curriculum set forth by PPSB is a bit cumbersome, they organized the content to fit within the three-day format. The standard is the standard and no shortcuts or "gimmies" are given, but even novice shooters can achieve it by paying attention and applying the principles.
