She's very knowledgeable, friendly and patient…read more I enrolled in the New Shooter Bundle 2 HR class the teachers the fundamentals of firearms and spent time on the range where I shot 6 firearms while receiving additional tips which helped me decide on which firearm I chose to purchase. I next enrolled in the CWP class which was very informative. Information was provided in a factual yet friendly way. After taking the written test, we went to the range for the performance portion. I know I was prepared and felt confident due to my training with 1st Defense. Being a female, I was also thrilled to support and reccommend a Female Owned Buisness. Thank you!

I walked away from the experience with a greater understanding of concealed carry training. I truly enjoyed my time with Sheriff Carmichael and his knowledgeable team. The location was easy to access, and the parking lot was convenient. Being close to Charlotte was a plus as well. I highly recommend this course. I also appreciate the efficiency of Sheriff Carmichael and his administrative team; registration was straightforward, and we were always provided with clear instructions.

Concealed Carry Class - Half good training and half right-wing PROPAGANDA…read more A bunch of friends and I took the concealed carry class taught by Irwin Carmichael. The class was held in this martial arts studio. When he stuck to the actual concealed carry related information, it was a really good class. We could have been out of there after 4 hours. UNFORTUNATELY, 4 of the 8 hours were extremist right-wing propaganda and sales pitches. He was talking about terrist attacks in other countrys, praising Putin, and NEVER related any of that back to anything relavent to the class. They tried to say Canada has fewer mass shootings because of their media!!! Are you kidding!?!?!
