Pooh, Marie (Pooh's sister), Pooh's father and I came here for supper, last night…read more The ambiance was busy and noisy. Maybe it was just that night but I wouldn't go back for a romantic dinner. We started with drinks. Pooh's dad (Andre) and I had Bloody Caesars, Pooh had a beer and Marie a house cocktail. The cocktail was too floral. Our Caesars were great. For appetizers Marie and Pooh had mussels, Andre, a Caesar salad and I had the French Onion soup. Andre's salad was a good size; Pooh and Marie enjoyed their mussels and my soup was very tasty Before the appetizers arrived a panier of warm bread and buns with a delicious olive oil and parmesan cheese sauce was brought to the table We ordered the Table D'hôte. Marie, Pooh and Andre had the fillet mignon and I had the bavette (flank steak). The cook on the steaks varied. Pooh and I ordered medium-rare; Marie ordered medium and Andre ordered medium-well. Pooh's steak was medium and my steak was medium-rare at the thinner end and very rare (almost blue) at the thicker end. Pooh, Marie and Andre had a baked potato without any butter and I had french fries. We shared two bottles of Italian red wine which was an excellent choice for the steaks. For dessert we had the brownie with ice cream. The brownie was dry - we needed the ice cream to help get it down. Pooh, Andre and I had a Brazilian coffee to wash everything down. Marie was driving. The service was excellent. Our server Édouard was very attentive; always checking on us. He was pleasant and had a friendly smile. Our glasses of water were always filled without us asking. The bathroom was unisex.

Pooh and I had some business in Joliette and decided to stop here for supper…read more Everything was wonderful. The server was very friendly, the beverages were cold and the food was delicious! Pooh ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the ribs and chicken. The filet was cooked just the way Pooh likes it - medium rare. The fries and veggies were also fabulous. My ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and personally the star was the chicken. I opted for the chicken tenders and the batter was amazing: light and crispy not greasy at all. My fries were also great and the dijonnaise was very tasty All in all a great time!!

So I went there with a client. Hostess was friendly and prompt to sit us. The waitress was…read morefriendly and seemed knowledgeable of the menu. Since it was Lobster season, we decided to each have one of thier lobster lunch specials. I had the Lonster sandwich and my client had the Lobster ravioli with Lobster bisck sauce We also had an appetizer of calamari. The entree arrived and the calamari was soggy, yet hot. So it felt like the oil was not hot enough. But the calamari itself was tasty and tender. So it seems like it was just badly executed. Then our main meals arrived. The lobster in my sandwich was shredded and had a pinkish colour. It had a slightly pasty texture. It also did not look like the image that showed large chunks of lobster. My client tasted his ravioli and said it tasted off. When checking the filling it was pink also. I'm just guessing, but it almost looks like they cut the filling with salmon. That would explain the colour and fishy / salmone taste both our dishes have. We mentionned it to our server, but she is convinced that it is pure lobster. My client worked in restaurant kitchens for years, and I have a pretty good palette. We were not going to argue with the server, but we do not feel like we got what we paid for. To bad, I used to like Baton Rouge.
