I've visited several **Milano Spa & Nails** locations across the country, and my favorite is the **Houston location**. Every time I've gone there, I've been treated like royalty. The customer service, cleanliness, attention to detail, and overall experience have always been top-tier. Because of those experiences, I didn't mind paying for an **Uber from downtown Chicago** to visit the Broadview location. I expected the same Milano experience, but that's not what I received. I paid **$58 for a pedicure**, and my feet were still dry and rough afterward. The shape of my big toenail wasn't what I asked for, and the pedicure felt rushed and incomplete. A professional pedicure should leave your feet feeling refreshed--not looking like you barely had one. I was also concerned about the salon's cleanliness. The first pedicure chair I was assigned was dirty. When I mentioned it, I was simply moved to another chair instead of the original one being cleaned. I also noticed what appeared to be bugs near the pedicure station by the window. For a salon that presents itself as upscale, that was disappointing. Customer service was another letdown. My interaction with **Manager Chelsea** left me feeling that my concerns weren't taken seriously. Second time customer. First time was a good experience, not great but good so i tried again. Did not think would go from good to worst ever. Spent $150 on upgraded pedi and basic polish mani. Utensils where not taken out of sterile packaging, when i asked about this I was ignored. Instead tech got up and walked away for more then more then five minutes returning not with sterile equipment but with an orange slice that was dropped into what was now cold foot bath water. Any request i made the balance of the time , such as water is cold, please round off toenails, etc was ignored. I received an affirmative head nod but no fulfillment of requests made. I should have gotten up and walked out but did not want to make a scene. The "Technician" had long pointed nails that inhibited her performance. In my opinion they prevented a decent pedicure. or she was just a bad technician. She could not hold the pumice device or utensils, consistently fumbling with them. Spent literally ten seconds on callous removal. To fulfill the timing stated for the pedicure paid for she spent the time rubbing (not even messaging) lotion onto a third of my lower leg. Spent 15 minutes at most on my feet and polishing nails. Upon close inspection of toenails at home found them jagged/diagonally cut across top with sharp pointed corners. Had to immediately correct toenails at home so as not to become grown in. Manicure, my seat was surrounded by mothers with children playing FPS while live streaming friends at full volume, with out earbuds/headphones. Not relaxing at all. There should be a special section for Mothers with children or headphones should be required if seated in general public. Even with headphones wound up children screaming at each other to "shoot! ...fing shoot them already" should not be part of the experience of a mani pedi. Management Staff focused on serving alcohol instead of ensuring relaxing atmosphere and good pedi and mani services. Will never be back. read more

I was in from out of town so I stopped to get a gel polish change. I should have known better when the lady next to me was there to get 2 gel nails repaired after 1 week. After 10 days the gel chipped on 3 fingers of mine, that should certainly not happen after 10 days. This also was my first time at a salon that charged for shaping nails with a polish change! 7.00 otherwise I would have had to walk out of there with a ragged nail. I originally left this review on Google, but I wanted to share my experience here as well. I got my nails done on July 3, and before I even left the salon, I noticed they already looked grown out. I had just paid $70, yet they looked like they had been done weeks earlier. I was really disappointed with the quality. On top of that, the nail tech never clearly explained that there would be an additional $15 charge for chrome. If I had been told beforehand, I could have decided whether I wanted to add that service. Instead, I was surprised when it was added to my total. She also rushed my nails, and it showed in the final result. After the owner responded to my Google review and told me to contact the salon, I was informed over the phone that I could come in sometime that week to receive either a gift card or a refund. When I arrived, a man pulled me aside and told me that I could get a refund. Before processing it, he asked if I would take my review down once I received it. Then he walked over to speak with another woman, and suddenly I was told that, because of their policy, they don't give refunds and could only offer me a gift card. What doesn't make sense is why I was told twice--once over the phone and again in person--that I could receive a refund, only for them to change their minds after I got there. If refunds were never allowed because of your policy, why tell me to come in expecting one? I wasted my time based on information your own staff gave me. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I simply wanted a fair resolution after paying for nails that I wasn't happy with. The inconsistent communication, asking me to remove my review before the refund was even processed, and then refusing to honor what I was promised left me even more disappointed than my original experience. read more

This is a relatively new nail spa in the area so I decided to check it out. I was greeted warmly upon entering and they have a screen where you enter your info and then a screen where you can choose your services. I chose a no-chip manicure and a pedicure. Alex was my technician. He did an excellent job. He took his time and was very meticulous. During my service I was offered a complimentary beverage which was a nice touch. They have a menu of items you can order ranging from tea, wine, soft drinks, cocktails and mocktails. The establishment is very clean and welcoming and the decor puts you in the mindset of being in Italy. They have several pedicure and manicure areas and a menu with the different types of pedicures and manicures that are offered. They also have an extensive amount of nail colors to choose from. I really wanted to like this place, as this was my third visit. However, the pricing practices are incredibly frustrating and feel dishonest. During my appointment, I was quoted $70 for Gel-X and $10 for the design. However, they didn't reveal the total cost until my nails were already half-glued on. At that point, I was told the total was $140. To make matters worse, they then added an extra fee for using a debit/credit card. I left feeling trapped and overcharged. My previous visit (which also involved a different design on every nail) was only $100. I strongly prefer businesses that are transparent with their pricing upfront. I recommend visiting a salon where the prices are posted, not made up as you go. read more

I came here when they first opened and I loved it , however my last visit the other day was awful the male staff members talked entirely to much and played , I was not able to relax and enjoy my pedicure my tech continued to get up and insert hisself into others customers appointments. He would never communicate he would just walk away . When it was time to get my nails down I sat and waited while the male staff members continued to just talk when my tech came he talked so loudly to the employees that were just sitting there . Had an amazing lavender spa pedicure done and it was the BEST Pedi I've ever gotten! It was done so beautifully and they took their time massaging me and making sure it was done with precision. They give you free drink as well, I had mimosa! My hands were done beautifully by grace! Will definitely be coming back! So glad I found my new nail spot!!! We visited here the day before Thanksgiving for the first time and we had a wonderful experience. The space is beautiful, very open, bright and clean. This was my nieces first time getting a manicure and also her birthday. The staff all came together to sing happy birthday to her and they gave her a birthday cupcake!! I got my gelx removed (done at a different place) and got a regular manicure. The place is really nice inside and the music and decor was very festive. My tech was nice and was gentle with the nails that had already broken off. They give you a complimentary drink which is super cool, however I don't think they take into account that there is an open beverage while gel/acrylic being drilled off. Not just my tech, but a practice each of the 3 artists I saw working did. The dust definitely got into my drink (I attached a picture where you can see it on my straw and inside of my glass). I had a builder gel fill in yesterday. The main thing that I noticed is that the tools did not come out of a sanitized bag! The tech used drill bits, nippers, and files from straight from her toolkit. Also, the dust flies everywhere because they don't use any suction fans (don't know what they're called) that usually collect dust from filing. The tech was pretty rough with my nails as well and I have some very close side walls as a result. The place is nice but I will not be returning, sanitizing of tools is the most basic and fundamental practice in a nail salon and they are not doing that here. read more

I've been coming to the salon for a few months since they've opened today. I asked them how many points I had in their system and it was only showing 100 points meaning I've only spent $100 in the shop which I know is an accurate because I spent $100 every time I come in and I've already been to this location for to five times so I should have already accumulated 4 to 500 points when asked they told me they don't know what's going on. They're only showing 107 points which I know is absolutely not right. Another issue I had today is being charged for five dollars for the length of my nail. I'm already paying $55 for fillin Why am I paying five dollars more if my nails were also cut down this will probably be the last time I ever come back to the salon. They also try to charge me $75 for a design I wanted on my nails on top of the $55 which would've brought my total to over $130 for just a fill-in. I think it's absurd and I really do believe people should ask how much their designs are before they get them and I will definitely be looking for a new nail salon! Technicians at this salon do not have enough training to ensure proper removal of gel. My nails are in absolute shambles following a removal of my gel x in january. Severe rings of fire and over drilling of my nail plate has left my pinky nail detaching from my nail bed which is commonly known as onycholysis. This was caused directly by the trauma my nail endured at this salon. This business should be very ashamed of having a customers nail end up in this state. Customer service is excellent at this place! However I have noticed that every time I have went there to get my nails done they use dirty tools! The last time I went there was leftover nail clippings inside of the nail clipper as well as skin flakes inside of the cuticle cutter. Very unsanitary... not sure how they still in business when they are using dirty tools. The atmosphere is great but just wish they were more sanitary! I try to keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt but every time I leave I'm reminded why I shouldn't. You get a drink with your service which is nice, sure. It's clean, a big plus. The staff here always have some type of attitude and when you ask for what you want they look at you like they've never heard of it before. Today I took my daughter for a mani pedi- she wanted a Regular manicure with a design. The tech kept telling me she couldn't do it unless she got a no chip which is not true because we've done this here plenty of times. When I mentioned I'd go to my usual spot to my daughter and have my regular girl put the football on for her, miraculously enough the tech said she could Do it. Her design she asked for was pretty simple- not unusual and she looked at me with such a weird face and said "what??? I don't know that do you have a picture?" I show the picture and she still looks like she's never heard of this before. The tech that applied my full set seemed so irritated by me asking him to file them a little shorter - didn't speak a single word- and had the biggest attitude. I had to come back once to fix my nails- that they did a crap job on- the manager said to ask for him when I got there so I did. The little girls up at the front desk laughed at me when I asked for their manager and said "well he doesn't work at this location" okay so what's funny? We paid a lot more than other salons of the same caliber (base price is higher, then they will add on additional charges).
