Wish it were possible to give 0 stars, that's how bad this went. I booked an appointment for something called a "closure install." She refused to remove the extensions after I'd worn them for months. Her suggestion was to see another stylist for removal. So disrespectful because she charged $600-$700 and the section of my hair where the "closure" was installed still appears to be damaged as I work toward regrowing to original density. Do not go to Milan Beauty! It's not worth it for the damage that's done to the hair. She's terrible for new customers. read more

Lacks Professionalism, Lacks Skills, Communication Non-Existent As a result of Morgan's lack of skills, I'm out of over $1000. I had her custom make a wig (The cost of the hair was over $700) and add highlights. She destroyed the closure because of her lack of skills. The hair was severely damaged because it was overprocessed by her lack of skills and her inability to properly color the hair. She said that the damage was the result of her not being familiar with the brand of hair. Yet, she recommended the brand. In an attempt for a resolution, I requested that she replace the closure. My text messages and phone calls were completely ignored. As a result, I brought the wig to her place of business so that she could look at it. She wouldn't even look at it. She flat out refused to make any attempt to resolve the issue. She should take ownership of your mistakes and attempt to make restitution, as opposed to trying to run and hide from her customers. read more

I was a client of Morgan's at Upper Echelon Salon in DC for a few months and even followed her to her new shop in Springfield. During an appointment last December, she asked me to write a Yelp review for her. At the time, I didn't think anything of it. She was a new stylist and needed good reviews. So I obliged and wrote a review. Now, less than a year later, I FULLY regret recommending her. She mentioned to me that she paid for an ad on Yelp in an effort to gain more clients. At the time, I was happy for her! I'm all for black girl magic. Shine girl. However, I slowly began to see a change in the quality of her work. One particular time she put in a sew-in that was so tight, I had to take Tylenol AND Ibuprofen around the clock to ease the pain. I could literally feel my hair ripping. But I gave her benefit of the doubt and figured she'd just braided the braids too tight. I even gave her the benefit of the doubt the SECOND time the same thing happened, and made another appointment two months before vacation. But she CANCELED that appointment, without even TELLING ME! I was already questioning the quality of her work at this point, but this show of unprofessionalism was the last straw. After she posted that Yelp ad, she stopped all personal communication between her and her regular clients. Instead of answering my calls and texts personally, like she'd always done before, she had her "business partner" answer her calls. Only the "business partner" took forever to get back to me, days would go by between responses. So maybe the "business partner" canceled my appointment mere days before vacation? Or maybe Morgan did? I don't know. She wouldn't call me back, so who knows? Morgan's 21 years old. She does hair okay, but she doesn't know how to professionally run a businesses and maintain acceptable communication with her clients. If she keeps going like this, she's going to lose all her clients--new and old. It's hard to expect excellence from someone who still operates like a kid. Morgan has shown her unprofessionalism, inconsistency and inexperience. And because of that, she lost a loyal client. If you're an adult who wants a professional and pleasant long-term stylist, I wouldn't recommend Morgan at all. Save your money and your hair. read more

I drove 1 1/2 hours to have a sew in installed by Morgan and I'm 100% happy with the way Morgan installed my sew in. To begin with Morgan shampooed my hair then followed with a deep conditioner. I like that this was included in my service because many stylist like for you to come with your hair already washed which I feel should always be included in your service. I want to start by saying this: for those of use that truly understand and appreciate quality work, you KNOW that it is rare and hard to find that ANYWHERE! I moved from Orlando,FL to D.C looking for a sew in for a reasonable price and stumbled upon a salon in D.C called Upper Echelon. Prior to my appointment last year in August, I specifically asked for their best hair specialist that was on the clock that day that was familiar with natural hair and they undoubtedly said, "okay, we will book you for Morgan". Thankfully they did. I was surprised at how professional and how much she actually cares for not only your natural hair, but you as a person (since customer service alone, is at a all time low these days). My hair did not even have to be washed for about 4 weeks because of how she made sure my scalp was conditioned and oiled properly. Whatever products she used for my edges, worked wonders on my natural hair (as I mentioned before, it did not have to be touched up or washed for a VERY long time). I followed Morgan to her new salon in Springfield, even though it is a 2 hour commute via metro for me, and recently got another sew in which was done wonderfully as expected. I will not go to anyone else. If I were you, I would make sure that you are blessed by her services as I can guarantee you there is none other like her.
