After she finished, I told her my hair looked nothing like the picture, and I really hated it. She told me to live with it for a week, charged me $557.00 and sent me on my way even though I was completely dissatisfied and upset. One day later I told her she needed to fix it, went back, she made it worse. I went to another salon in an attempt to fix it and paid another $175 to get it fixed. The stylist blended the layers and evened out the uneven sides but told me unfortunately I would need to let it grow out which would take 4-6 months. My hair has been up since the cut on 7/2. I relayed all of the information to her and asked her to refund me at which point she just simply ignored me. Her name is "Kimmie Chi" I researched her in an attempt to find her cosmetology license however cannot find anything under her name. I wanted lip blush not only to restore color, but also to get a bit of my lip shape back. (Fun fact I learned: many of us actually have about 1mm of lip skin above our lip line, even if it blends with our skin tone!) I had seen Emi's work before while researching lip blush and was already a fan, so when I found her Yelp page, I hoped it was the same Emi--and I was so lucky that it was! She even had a Saturday spot available, and her pricing was very reasonable. Emi works out of Salon Republic in Hermosa Beach. From the moment I walked in, the space felt welcoming and comfortable. She even offered a blanket and asked for music request, which set such a nice tone. After filling out the forms, Emi took the time to really talk through my goals. I didn't have many reference photos, but she walked me through her wide selection of colors and explained the differences in shapes and lip design. Once she mapped out the outline, I looked in the mirror and was honestly beyond thrilled--it was even better than what I had imagined. After applying the numbing cream, Emi carefully explained aftercare and what to expect during healing. The actual session was nearly painless (maybe a 1 on a scale of 10), and she worked with such precision and attention to detail. About an hour and a half later, my lips were complete--and I was blown away by the results. Not only is my lip color beautifully enhanced, but my lip line is more defined and the shape turned out even better than what I had envisioned. Emi is truly an artist. I looked into eyelash extensions, but stumped upon lash lift, and found Tori in Yelp! The process is a little long, about an hour. She takes cash only. There's a convenience store a block away from her that has an ATM if you forget cash! Be sure to get directions for when you arrive. It's a bit tricky to find her place. She says the lash could stay curled for up to 12 weeks depending on what you do to them. Mine only looked good for a month max. The second month, most lashes straightened out, while a few stayed curled. By the end of the second month, all my lashes were straight again. I don't wear much makeup (only eyeliner) on a day-to-day basis. I wear mascara only on special occasions, which was 3 times during the those two months. I never wear fake eyelashes. I'm not sure why mine didn't last as long, but it was nice while it lasted. It's a little expensive for my lashes to look good for only a month. I see why people do it if they curl their eyelashes everyday. It definitely saves a lot of time. It was definitely nice to have, and I might do it again for another special occasion.

I thought it looked off, but assumed it was just a bad tint. When I got to the car I realized my eyelashes were completely curled in a circle back into themselves. I reached out and Su was kind enough to get me in to fix them a couple hours later. I came in crying and worried my lashes were going to fall out, I was assured it was an easy fix and my lashes would not fall out so we proceeded. In the studio, the fix looked fine, certainly better than before. I was refunded. I think if I had the lash lift with Su originally I would've been pleased with the results and the experience as the studio space is nice. Unfortunately, 2 hours after the fix the lashes started to retain the shape of the first lift again. I reached out again asking what I could do as they had gone back. The text I received back restated what had happened, but did not offer advice. I tried to clarify with a longer description of what was happening and said I was asking for advice. I did not hear from her again. This morning I woke up to my lashes falling out in clumps and the lashes that are left have all broken in half. I'm devastated. I have been getting lash lifts for years and have never had anything like this happen. It is going to take a very long time for my lashes to grow back.
