The food is ok and the service is so slow. I ordered 45 mins in advance and it still wasn't done!

We recently visited this sushi spot in the former Osaka location. The restaurant entrance is on…read moreGermantown Avenue, and there's a very small parking lot. Walking inside felt familiar it looks almost exactly the same as Osaka did years ago. The only thing that seems to have changed is the name, which made me wonder if it's the same owner. We ordered the spicy scallop roll, salmon truffle crispy rice, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and chili edamame. Overall, the food was good, and the salmon truffle crispy rice was very good it was definitely the highlight of the meal. We also saw several dishes being served to other tables that looked good and had great presentation although we weren't sure what they were. The service was okay nothing exceptional, but friendly enough. My only complaint was that the ginger served with my sushi was dried out and hard. I also wasn't a fan of the consistency of the "wasabi" that was served. They are BYOB, and you can make reservations, which is always a plus. Overall, we had a good experience and will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

But our one teen who ordered a Bento Box with Salmon Teriyaki with sauce on the side, was very disappointed when it came with the sauce on it. It turns out she doesn't like Teriyaki sauce. So it took awhile to have her meal redone without the sauce. Meanwhile the rest of us enjoyed our nigiri, rolls, crab rangoon, all was very delicious! Some of the dishes were beautifully decorated with flowers.

The business is so new that there are no exterior signs leading to or identifying the place. The interior of the Osaka is stark and pristine which is a Japanese decor trend. The cashier could have been mistaken for porcelain doll. Everything about this place is refreshingly uncluttered. My telephone order that was placed 15 minutes earlier was waiting for me in a hefty bag at the register. At $15.95, the Hibachi Combination #17 (scallops and filet mignon with vegetables and fried rice) was piping hot 10 minutes later when I ate lunch at home. The filet mignon (ordered to be medium in doneness) was tender, flavorful and nicely seared. The scallops were beautifully seared, juicy and delicious. The meal included lots of chunks of zucchini, caramelized onion and carrot. The fried rice was tasty although it has fewer ingredients and less depth of flavor than Chinese fried rice. (Do not mistake Japanese cooking for Americanized Chinese dishes, the former being more subtle in taste, healthier and containing less sodium and fat). My order of Hibachi Vegetable #1 ($8.95) contained a large mound of fried rice with a triple-helping of a broader variety of grilled vegetables. White rice is an option for all meals. My meals included "clear soup," a rich clear broth with a mushroom slice or two (and possibly caramelized onion) added. Today's clear soup was very tasty although I can imagine a Chinese cuisine enthusiast wondering, "Where are the dumplings?" My first experience at Osaka Hibachi was terrific. The food was plentiful and tasty although I added salt to further enhance the taste. I plan on returning.

Simple, quick and good food! I ordered online but we ate inside. Staff is nice and restaurant is clean. Just an FYI, that this is mainly a take out place, it has some seating inside to eat but it's not a big restaurant.

Sushi Chef Jeff Chen has worked at Royal Izakaya and Hiroki so he has a superior knowledge of edomae sushi. These were the 18 courses I had for the incredible price of $150: * Three Components Appetizer - Shako, Maguro, Hotate * Seared Japanese Yellowtail, Pear and Daikon Sauce, Shredded Shiso, Myoga, Cucumber * Black Cod, Eggplant, Mushroom, Scallion, Tomato grilled in parchment paper * Madai * Kinmedai * Aji * Snow Crab, Carrot Sauce, Cucumber, Pomegranate in Monaka * Saba * Akami * Otoro * Uni * Anago * King Salmon, Sundry Tomato, Truffle Spring Roll topped with Osetra Caviar * Wagyu and Uni * Toro Tamaki * Miso Soup * Tamagoyaki * Strawberry Cheesecake Each course was delightful to amazing. Perhaps the only course I didn't enjoy that much was the snow crab monaka, but everything else was absolutely delicious. The aged akami is amazing. The steam rising up from the anago (saltwater eel) is like sushi bliss to me. To everyone who doesn't know: Your sushi chef should not be flametorching every piece of sushi! Chef Chen does it right by using aburi sparingly to enhance rather than hide flavors. I am so glad I finally got to try Chef Chen's omakase.

Started with cocktails and sake. Great and reasonably priced. Tried the grilled octopus - wasabi with seaweed app. Really good. And the charcoal skewers - the pork collar and the ribs. Both were good but I recommend the pork collar. We got both the maki roll combo and the nigiri combo. Really good assortment. All were good meat and not too much added rice. Ended with the passion fruit - mango cake dessert. Not too sweet or tart. Good combo. Great way to end the dinner. I recommend. Will dine here again.
