Whatever you do, dont go see this dentist. He charges your insurance for things he did so poorly, like a poor filling for a cavity that ended up needing a root canal it wouldn't have needed if he had done his job right. He also pulled out my wisdom teeth and hit me in the back of the throat with the pliers he used to pull the tooth out and I had a large bruise on there for too weeks. When I cried, he told me to stop being a baby (in those exact words). He did multiple x-rays through out the years I saw him for regular check ups and never once mentioned my cavities.. and then only mentioned them when they were so bad he had to do a deep filling and root canals - which insurance pays him more for! He has cost me and my family thousands of dollars to repair the dental and gun damage that he purposely did not try to make a care plan for because this is not the service insurance pays him a lot for. He's a shitty dentist and scams Medicaid and HMO patients! Dr. Berdichevsky... dont be surprised if officials knock on your door for medical fraud. This is a very challenging review for me to write... I had a somewhat satisfying experience and felt I received value for my investment. I assumed that no X-rays was an acceptable choice by my experienced dentist. However, my spouse had an unbelievably horrible experience expectations set by another wonderful dental practitioner in the area for many years. We recently took the incentive of insurance provided my Covered CA choosing the HMO option from Delta Dental. From the frenetic nature of the dental office I concluded that the dentist was doing all he could to have as many patients possible to be served over a period of time and some sacrifices were made to accommodate. But my teeth were cleaned and fortunately I have very strong teeth, I guess, that need a good scrape which I seemed so received. I don't know what else to say except the dentist has a rye sense of humor and if you can find a way to connect at a personal level you may have a better experience. read more

Worst dentist visit ever! I went in for a cleaning and a check up on a first visit he didn't do any x-rays and didn't scrape off any of the plaque definitely forms around teeth after 6 months. He also didn't do any buffing or flossing. He was done in 10 minutes which is lazy and he is certainly an insurance scammer. I do a better cleaning job on my own teeth. Don't go here. I have good dental hygiene, just needed a routine cleaning. I made an appointment for a first visit, waited 1hr 10 minutes to sit in the chair to get a cleaning. They didn't take x-rays, measure my gums, and the cleaning legitimately took him under 2 minutes and he sent me on my way. Poor seat-side manner and rushed work. If you are looking for a new dentist, look elsewhere. Also concerning: when I was in there, the receptionist was telling people on the phone to just walk up without making an appointment... probably the reason it took them over an hour to bring me to the chair for my 2 minute cleaning. Had my first implant with dr. Berdichevsky. It was a success. After that had several procedures done. Came in for a emergency root canal. Office was pack but doctor was able to squeeze me in for the procedure. I trust this guy and thank god I ran into his business. Do not go to this dentist! He gave my son's teeth a cursory glance and said his teeth were fine; my daughter, he said, needed two fillings. Cleanings were brief and sloppy, he took no x-rays, and the staff was unfriendly. We started at a new dentist just 6 months later, only to learn that my son needs two fillings, and the fillings Dr. Berdichevsky gave my daughter early last year have to be replaced. Given the contrasting reviews he gets here on Yelp, I wonder if he treats patients differently based on their insurance coverage (or writes his own reviews)!? I took my elderly mom to Berdichevsky dental office and was absolutely shocked how bad it was. We've been waiting for a long time even though had an appointment. I noticed that the dentist chair and surfaces were not sanitized after previous patients. Was doing everything super fast and didn't answer to all our questions, seemed to be overbooked. The doctor was switching between dentist chairs back and forth! And the worst thing is that he didn't change gloves - risk of getting various diseases is very high here! The office looked clean, the receptionist and Dr. Berdichevsky were nice, BUT this dentist did not do a standard teeth cleaning. It was the shortest teeth cleaning I have ever had! It was less than 10 minutes. He was smiling and was splashing water in my mouth then he told me he didn't know what he was doing. It sounded like he was joking but he wasn't. Embarrassingly I have not been to a dentist in a couple of years. After the "cleaning" he said everything looked fine and I know I need more than a regular cleaning done. After the appointment, I was like WTF that's it? It seemed like he had regular patients visiting him. So there must be a reason why he's still in business, but I need a professional dentist who actually does the work. read more

Rude & unprofessional. Rushes through your appointment and leaves you questioning the quality of the care you've received. I remained seated after my procedure because I had an after-care question and his only concern was getting me out of the chair so the next person could come in. If you indicate you are in pain he will say something along the lines of "you can leave if you want". He was banging his tools against my other teeth and I thought he was gonna chip or break a healthly tooth. He pinches your lip between his tools and your teeth for leverage and it it really hurts. Mikhail has no concern for his patient's comfort. The man does not wear deodorant and when you have someone leaning over your face for an hour, and are forced to breathe through your nose it is not a pleasant experience and if I wasn't in the middle of a serious procedure I would have walked out. read more

I've never seen any dentists not wearing a mask during procedure! I smelled his breath!! -He reused my daughter's bib on me! -finished my daugther's cleaning then didnt change his gloves and then worked on my teeth -didn't wipe the handpieces that he used on my daughter and worked on me (only change the plastic head, not wiping anything including the tube) -not bother to know our name and not look at our medical history form before he cleaned our teeth -we sat down for 5 mins and didn't cleaning our full mouth then said "no cavity. Bye" I paid attention to what he did on my teeth, he didn't clean all the surfaces of my teeth! didnt measure my gum! -didn't even give any water to rinse our mouth! Dr. Mikhail Berdichevsky did one implant for me which was covered by a bridge as i was born without that tooth. The procedure was done at my Dentist office which is EZ SMILE FAMILY DENTAL GROUP where I have been going for 32 years previously ran by Dr. KIISK and now by Dr. Ponstroler. The day came for the implant installation and which requires an experienced hand. Well Dr. Berdichevsky was as smooth as they come. The healing and bonding of the post took approximately 3 months. Then the permanent tooth was installed and all was done to my expectations and it's still in good condition and it's been over a year. I went there for a cleaning and X-Ray, to see how was teeth were doing, more like a check up. When the assistant was taking the X-rays, Dr.Mikhail spoke with her on their language and she stopped doing the X-rays. He did my cleaning, I didn't wear a glass, so my face was wet, it kept going down on my neck. While he was cleaning it,at some point one of my tooth hearted in the back, by my wisdom teeth and he said that was because it was sensitive.So, how can he be positive about I'm not having a cavity if they didn't even finished with the X-rays. read more

I brought my grandmother in to get a tooth shaved because it was sharp and he pulled out two teeth. My grandmother is on blood thinners and he did not even ask or verify. Plus he did not even suture her back up!!!! We had to come back to get stitches. He is unprofessional, rude to patients. This guy should get his license revoked. I am a nursing student and I have been around many doctors and this guy is someone you should stay away from. The office people are sweet, but the dentist is negligent. My grandmother was bleeding all night. Also, he goes back and forth between patients as everyone is in an open space. There are no rooms. I am telling you right now. Do not go here. Find someone else. Do not go to this dentist. I heard him speak so rudely to a patient and tell her to go in a loud voice. I don't care if the patient frustrated you, you are a medical professional. My insurance coverage was limited so i decided to give them a try for just a general cleaning. They are all Russians with mainly Russian patients, but that's beside the point. The front desk man was nice as was the woman who came to touch a few instruments on the table while i was in the chair before walking away and letting me know the doctor will be with me soon. The doctor came, looked at me and said nothing. No nothing. He did a quick touch up with my teeth for not even 10 minutes and said you're good, go ahead and rinse with fluoride. I left with nothing, no dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrush, nothing but a really unpleasant experience to a dental office. I've never experienced anything like this before. The service was so half-ass*d. He really ought to be ashamed of himself. I'm disappointed in myself for giving them a chance. Don't waste your time. read more

For 4 years I've put up with pain in a molar because the previous dentist told me I'd need all sorts of expense work. I asked Dr Berdichevsky, if we pull it what will happen? If I could give them 1/5 of a star I would. I've been here a couple of times myself and Dr-patient relationship has been okay for what I needed. - Minus the time I needed an emergency extraction and the anesthesia wasn't numbing me enough for what I was crying and screaming and the Dr yelled at me for it.- I thought it was an isolated incident so I came back a couple of times for cleanings and whatnots but today was the last time I ever come back here. I brought my twins for the first time to a dentist appointment and didn't really know what to expect for that, but I'd imagine he was going to check their teeth, do a basic cleaning routine and move on... well, we waited for over an hour, while we were waiting a half naked homeless man got in yelling and asking for something i couldn't even understand (mind you it's a very very small office), and everyone was trying to get him out, finally someone was able to call the police and another patient guarded the door. My kids were shaken up by that situation, and still waited and waited... by the time we were seen my 4 year old twins were hungry and tired and scared, so I asked the doctor if we should do one at a time and he said "no, let's do both at the same time" and as I'm trying to comfort the one child on the chair the other one started to get scared and the Dr put his hands on my hips and moved me away. For the sake of my kids I didn't wanted to make a scene out of that. But then the Dr was forcing my child that wasn't on the chair to "help him count her sister's teeth" to what my child didn't want to do, when I finally was able to move her away from him (as he was pulling her from me) she started crying and he yelled at her "stop crying!!!". I told him not to yell at my kids and that she was tired, hungry and scared, to what he didn't even apologized, finished counting my kids teeth and then said "that's it... see you in 6 months" ‍ he did offer to put fluoride but we all know how bad that is for everyone so I said no, and I said "is that all?" And he said "they have healthy teeth what else do you want"... I'm still very confused, upset and disappointed at this whole situation... please don't bring your kids to this guy. read more

He looked at my teeth quickly and said there were no problems. I was healthy. He then poked around for a few minutes with very cold air and water spraying out of my mouth. I couldn't stand it. He said I only had a little bit of plaque, which is impossible because I haven't been to a dentist in 2 years. He cleaned my teeth for about 30 seconds skimming over quickly and said I was done. What a wonderful find this office was. I'm so very grateful to Dr. Berdichevsky for saving my tooth, when the previous diagnosis had been that the tooth was beyond repair and an implant was needed. The office staff was responsive and accommodating and his technicians were lovely; there was a nice rhythm and chemistry to the way they all worked together. I noticed that someone used the adjective "amazing" in another review to describe Dr. Berdichevsky. It's a strong word and aptly applies! Worst dentist experience ever. I'm originally from France, so I knew the system here and there is really different, but at that point, I'm speechless. One of my tooth partially broke after eating some caramel candy. I wasn't in pain at all, just wanted to fix that. I called a few places but this one was the first one that gave me an appointment for the same day (That's the only good point of that story). When I arrived there, I tried to explain my situation, and not knowing well how the insurance work in the US I was asking question to the receptionist. She was not patient at all, almost rude, and was answering like I was the dumbest person in the world. I should have leave at this moment. But i gave the benefit of the doubt. After one hour waiting, the dentist finally called me and put me in this chair where literally everybody that walk in the office can see you. Laying down. He started to prepare the tools for the X-ray, and left me on my sit for 20 min, mouth open dealing with another patient in the box next to mine. Then he came back, did the X-ray and show me the X-ray telling me that my tooth need to be replaced because of a HUGE cavity. I'm not a dentist, but I know how to read an X-ray, turns out that I had to explain to him that what he was looking at was a ceramic cement (sorry, I don't know the right name in English) that my dentist in France did a decade ago. Anyway, he started to patch the side of my tooth that break when his granddaughter arrived. So, I'm in the middle of the process when he puts his granddaughter on his lap (no mask or gloves or anything for that 6yr old girl) and they started counting my teeth. Turns out, she knows how to count to 28. Great. And obviously, she needed to point at every single teeth with her finger almost putting them inside my mouth! He finished his work after making me wait 15 min mouth open for his granddaughter to "practice" how to count teeth. I didn't ask any other questions after that. I had to take another appointment with another dentist to fix what Mikhail did. His work wasn't good at all and the patch that he did wasn't smooth at all and was scratching my tongue. To conclude, that place look like a chain factory, they take everybody as fast as possible with the minimum care and precision. That dentist work on different clients at the same time, and the open space doesn't make you feel safe at all. I would highly recommend you to AVOID this dentist at all cost. read more

Been coming here for over 20 years. Best dentist hands down. The prices are very reasonable and they won't tell you to do work that isn't needed to make extra $$ from you. Most negative reviews here seem to say that he is "rude" but I think thats more of a cultural issue as they aren't rude here but direct. The office is also super busy and they just don't have the time to sit with you for hours to make you feel better. Visited this practice years ago when I still lived in California. He drilled out two cavities without using anesthetic of any kind. Nothing. It was the most intense pain I have ever experienced. When I involuntarily shuddered in the chair, he literally held me down with his body weight and screamed in my ear: "BE A MAN!" I never posted about this before, because when I tell people the story, they are sure it can't be real. Read the reports of others here, and I think you'll be able to tell that what I am describing is par for the course. When I read about the lasting damage he has done to others, I count my lucky stars that I didn't have him do any other work. Do not give this individual the benefit of the doubt. Plainly and simply: Stay away! THIS IS A ZERO-START REVIEW. After several visits, experiencing very rude service, consistent appointment screw-ups, half-assed/incomplete work, and - to top it all off - they did (insurance) work that we found out that was done on my wife was totally unnecessary, not to mention very painful and, again, incomplete! So, let's start there. Among many other small things, the good doctor started four root canals that he not only did not finish, he didn't protect after starting, and then set up an appointment for a month(!) later. The exposed work created more problems, which now have to be addressed. In addition, a temp tooth was inserted - twice over time - and both didn't even come close to matching (particularly the size!) and were not secure AT ALL. In the end, she actually swallowed the last tooth which drove her to find another place. Without more gory details, the bottom line is they should not be practicing. If a class-action suit gets started, We're in. After going to two other dentists (referrals with great reputations), it was clear this guy is bottom-feeder. Both dentists we saw after were appalled at what they saw and clearly stated the work done (if one can call it work), was not only sub-par, but put her teeth in further jeopardy. To perform an expensive procedure that's not required is certainly not acceptable. But to do FOUR, charge insurance, and to do them so badly is criminal. After we stopped going there, we began to see more complaints on Yelp and other places. In fact - and this is HIGHLY UNUSUAL - there was a flyer posted on one of the poles just outside their office that said what I'm saying. Posted on a telephone pole! Very rude office that didn't want to accept delta dental even though they are on the list, it was like an assembly line with the rudest uncaring people I have ever seen and I've seen a few as I'm 84 years old. I went in for a cleaning and that was a big mistake as the doctor was just going from one person then to next grinding away with his little wheel and managed to grind away part of my gums under my four front teeth, and when I mentioned this to the women who was left to clean up the mess she just ignored me as the doctor was already grinding on someone which only took him and his wheel no more that three minute, so they didn't really care, very ill mannered uncaring people on a low budget mass production line. Awful! This place is understaffed, has no air purification system (only simple fans that doesn't even clear up the odor) and a poor layout for privacy. The dentist does the bare minimum and I left with teeth that was hardly any cleaner than before going in. My daughter in a lot of pain from a wisdom tooth, so she went to Western Dental to have it removed. The said that they couldn't remove it because the tooth was over a nerve so she had to see an oral surgeon. then was given the phone number to Denti -Cal. So the next day we called them to find a oral surgeon. The person on the phone from Denti-Cal was very helpful and called several of the oral surgeons on their list in our area. (only 4 in our area) 1 no longer had an oral surgeon, 2 only had an oral surgeon in the office 1 or 2 times a month and did not do urgent care. Next appt was in September when she would be out of state at college. So when we called them and they could see her that same day we thought we were having good luck. Only one of her wisdom teeth was bothering her, one she had removed before by Western Dental. He removed one that was not bothering her and it came out easy. The one that was hurting her he started working on and then broke a piece of one of his instruments in her bone trying to get the roots out. He was going to give up on getting the roots out but finally got them out. The he told her that he couldn't get the broken piece of tool out of her mouth because her jaw was too traumatized for him to get it out and proceeded to tell her it would be ok it could stay there forever. She went back in for him to take out her stitches and she told him she wanted that piece of tool out of her mouth so he took an xray of the area and comes back to tell her it has moved and is now in soft tissue. That could be a problem she needed to get a second opinion from another oral surgeon and that now it needs to come out but he can't do it. He then refers her to a oral surgeon in San Francisco 60miles from where we live. Since then he has called her almost everyday to see how she is doing and told her to come in today. He re xrayed it. and said he had to get it out, then not long after that he said she had to see an oral surgeon to take it out. We are like what the heck, we thought you were an oral surgeon. So now we are still looking for an oral surgeon that can take it out before it does damage to nerves or worse. read more

I had a great experience here. My appointment was quick and painless and Dr. Berdichevsky was honest and efficient. I had previously visited a different dentist who constantly tried to up sell me on pointless procedures like extraction of my wisdom teeth that have never broken the surface and cause me no issues. Dr. Berdichevsky suggested the wisdom teeth are "sleeping" and since they are under the bone they are best left undisturbed which I totally agree!! I'm glad I found a good dentist and an honest person who is more concerned with patient care and not trying to sell me on anything. Also the office is very clean and well organized. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Absolutely terrible experience. I go in to get a referral and they never send it to my insurance. So I call them and the receptionist says he can't send the referral online vs. in the mail. I ask why and his reason was "We just can't." Then after talking to him for a few minutes trying to figure out why they couldn't send the referral online he all of a sudden was like "ok we will do it for you". Nothing had changed and he still hadn't given me a reason why he said no to begin with. They gave me a "cleaning" that should NOT be considered any type of dental service. He basically sprayed water into my mouth and all over my face, finished with a "polish" and then told me to rinse and I was done. No exam, no scraping, nothing. I even told him I had jaw pain and popping and he goes "we don't do that here, talk to a specialist". I was flabbergasted at how unprofessional and UNCLEAN this place was. Their tools had smudges all over them. They even switched me and another patients' chairs without sanitizing or cleaning the stations in between whatsoever. When he switched me to the chair someone else was in he went "this is the VIP room". Long story short this office should be shut down and this "dentist" should have his license revoked. Have never been so disappointed in a dental office. I ended up going to a totally different office to get what I needed done and paid out of pocket. read more

Oh my god, this is litterally the worst experience I have ever had. The rude receptionists yelled at a patient who had gotten more teeth pulled out than he expected. I was coming in for just a check up an a cleaning. While I was getting my teeth cleaned the woman in the next chair was screaming in pain every couple minutes and complaining that she could still feel everything.
