Its taken me a little time to post my opinion because I wanted to take some time away from my horrible experience and let my feelings settle. It's been longer then a month and I still feel like he stole money from me. I had to find another mechanic and spent another $1200 to fix the stuff he messed up. I paid $4000 dollars to him for some basic repairs on my 1966 Cadillac. My car worked before I brought it to him. My intent was to double down on the cars reliability. I wanted to update anything he could see causing issues in the future. Especially before it got painted. This was the wrong move on my part. His attention to detail is way below par. I feel like I did business with someone learning on the job. I still can't believe he runs a business like this. Everything he touched, he left his mark on and then some. My brake lights still don't work. My windshield wipers that did work, don't work now. My high beam dash light won't turn off. He fried electrical stuff. He didn't space the distributor right and it failed the day I picked it up the first time. I have to turn my headlights on just to start my car. He changed out the front end (tire rod ends, upper and lower control arm bushing) and didn't even take the time to align the car before he sent me on down the road in it. Keep in mind all this stuff was fine before he touched it. He was just updating things before they became an issue. It took him 60+ days to perform 20 hours worth of work all said and done with. I'm going to give it another month and if I still feel the way I do today I will be reporting him to the bureau of automotive repair because I feel so taken advantage of. Don't risk it with him. Do your homework.

Despite not being a designated 'Audi Shop', Yuri was already familiar with a lot of the common issues that tend to become problems on my car's platform, which was a pleasant surprise. He spent a lot of time talking through the process of elimination, possibilities, and explaining the root cause and possible diagnosis for each circumstance. I felt comfortable leaving my car with him for an extended time to track down the issue. Over the course of a few days and numerous tests (cylinder compression & leakdown tests, boroscoping, etc) he pointed to an intermittently bad injector as the likely cause. But what's more, in the course of troubleshooting he also discovered that my water pump was on the verge of failure. Most people would assume this to be a sneaky add-on tactic for more labor, but he was totally right. He even suggested a revised and improved part version to help prevent it from happening again in the future. One of the best things that others have mentioned, is he will save the bad parts until you come to pick up your car, and take the time to show you what, where, how, and why they failed. That goes above and beyond the service you get at a lot of other places. I highly recommend Yuri and KM Autoworks for any work you need done.

It lived in Scottsdale Arizona for 24 years and then when I brought it over to La Jolla all the little scratches and nicks turned to measles on the cab. The rust spots on the hood were so bad that it ate through the hood in many places. I had to get a used hood from a salvage yard. I got a price for $3995 from a business around the corner that I had good results from when they had the lowest bid on a job they did 10 years ago for my Corolla wagon. But now they were the main st expensive. And then I got another bid for $1950 at a business in the same strip mall that I had previously gotten a really good price for insurance work before on my Corolla again. Make sure you shop around because prices can be drastically different. So I took the $1950 bid and I showed Stan, and after thinking about it a little bit he said he'd do it for $1750. But Stan had just opened up his business only 3 months when I met him. But he said he worked in an auto body shop himself and was an insurance adjuster in that Convoy area for I think it was 15 years, and knows all the auto body shops I saw his couple of unposted reviews which were five stars and I decided to give Stan a chance, and it worked out great. Go get many bids before you come see Stan. Not only did he did a great job but he washed my RV twice with a pressure washer. It was all mildewed and he got that all off and they even put tire dressing on the tires because they were all faded before. One thing he didn't do and I had to tell him was the mirror bracket still had all the measles on it and I said well what about this? He said well we didn't discuss that. I said "well what we discussed was that he paint all the areas where you see all the rust spots, and of course , that would included the mirror bracket. So he complied and had his workers paint the rear view mirror brackets and they look great now. Stan even replaced the windshield wipers because the metal was all flaking and severely falling apart. And the antenna was all eaten and to the point that there was no antenna. He bought me a new antenna and didn't charge me extra for those parts. Stan took me home and picked me up, too. I live over by UCSD. He even gave me a referral to a mechanic who's shop is behind his shop. I met the mechanic who used to own a Toyota Sunrader at one time.

Santee Firestone gave my car a complete inspection wheel alignment, tire balancing , a fukn complete safety vehicle inspection and sent me on my way in a vehicle that other people and myself could have been severly and fatally injured in while telling me that it was still safe to drive , now is that what you would call ASE certified. The point is JL auto center repaired my car called me and had me come back down to the shop and actually took a look into the problem that if went unfixed could have killed people or severly injured someone or myself, anyways they completely fixed my car today and I still cannot believe that there is still auto mechanics with a conscience but I believe this would more then likely be the only place.
