I have been dealing with Mike's Tree Works for many years, probably 20+. I know he is only a call away for and tree work and other yard issues I may have. I called last week to get an estimate to have 5 large palm trees and one small one trimmed and three palms removed. The estimate was well within our budget so I scheduled the job. He came out on Monday and gave me an estimate which was great. He and his crew ( they were great) were here Thursday a.m. at 8 and walked the yard then got to work. By 9:30 they were completed and cleaned everything up including to make sure anything which may have landed in neighbors yards were also cleaned. As always Mike and his crew were professional, polite, and made sure the work was satisfactory and to request. Struck up a conversation and ended up getting a very reasonable quote to trim my depressed, older laurel oak with downturned branches. This tree is sandwiched between 2 sets of powerlines and my house. Mike and company arrived promptly the next morning and knocked out the job in around 2 hours. Our next door neighbor told us Mike's Tree Work was coming the following day to remove 2 trees and would need to access our property to get in their backyard since it was fenced in. We told our neighbor it was OK. When Mike's showed up the next morning no one from the business ever knocked on our door to let us know what they were going to need to do on our property or ask if there was anything they should be aware of. I believe it was the owner himself who drove the bucket truck through our front yard over where our septic tank is, even though the driveway was parallel to the path he drove to get to the neighbor's backyard. When we told him he just drove over our septic tank he never apologized but had a cocky tone when he replied that the bucket truck would not harm the septic tank and did not answer our question of how much the truck weighs. He also trimmed branches on our tree that were hanging over the property line about 2 feet shorter than the property line. A tree service business should know better than to drive a service truck over top of a septic tank and should have professional courtesy to talk to neighbors before going on their property. We needed 3 mature Carrotwood's, one very mature (and dying) Laurel Oak cut down, chipped, stumps grinded and hauled away; and we need a Queen Palm trimmed. After one phone call, Mike came and gave us a same-day quote and started the next day. We feel like Mike met and exceeded all of those expectations. He took one down-payment and then asked for permission when job was 99% complete to run credit card for balance. I thought it was very professional for him to ask knowing that the stumps still needed to be grinded, but we had zero concerns that he'd charge us and not finish the job. Mike's Tree Work did a big job at my property today and I couldn't be more satisfied. They removed two dead pine trees, trimmed a number of large Bird of paradise palms, a large Areca palm, trimmed several large oak trees and ground some stumps.
