I had a poor experience with Mike's Pow-R-Tow. I ran out of gas outside of Kingman and called AAA. They sent a tow truck from this company out with fuel. The driver was courteous. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name. He poured several gallons of fuel into my empty tank. I hopped in and started the truck, which ran poorly and barely pulled out onto the highway where it stalled and I coasted over to the shoulder. The driver was behind me and pulled over again. He poured some more gas into my vehicle and it still would not start. He then towed me over to a local shop where the next day, the mechanic determined that bad gas had been poured into my tank. After draining the tank and adding fresh gas, the truck ran fine. I called Mike's Pow-R-Tow to see what we could work out and left several messages that were not returned. read more

my camper was picked up in September by them and i wasn't notified until the end of Jan. I gave them 2 ways to get into my possible ways to get into the camper without causing damage. Insurance owns the camper but not my belongings inside the camper. they refused any suggestions they just refuse to give me my belongings back. dont use this company if you have any choice. This is a review for Mike's. Although I will preface it by noting that AAA's policy may have played a part but Mike's did not let me know that. Just to show that I am trying to be fair. They failed spectacularly to clarify said policy or provide any customer service. Both Kevin the driver and the dispatcher we're not just rude they were borderline negligent in not providing service on my unsafe tire. Telling me it holds air it should be fine while I'm driving 350 miles on a not just damaged but a damaged and punctured tire with a fully loaded cargo van depending on it. Just to explain why this experience got me so angry and why I must implore you to find a company who will be courteous and ensure your safety. Mike's pow r tow does not. I needed help changing a spare on a rental that had dangerously "cupped" tire that also had a nail in it, that I didn't think was safe to travel 350 miles on. The rental didn't have the crowbar that is used to lower the spare tire from underneath it. Nor did it haves Jack. Here's where AAA's dumb policy comes in, a policy which , (in my own experience) is clearly haphazardly enforced and one I was not informed of by said company at all in my interactions with them. I asked Kevin to change the spare and he informed me rather rudely, that I didn't have the tool to lower it and neither did he. Mind you I watched the ford video that showed it is just a tire iron with a flat head to lower it down. Hell a big screwdriver would work. He then told me I would have to go to a tire shop to have them fix it. I asked if he was actually a tow truck driver and if so why didn't he have tools to help. I have had tow truck drivers that had the special wheel lock tools I didn't have. I've had them create items on the spot to open my locked car. Even had the special long pole to lower the tire. I don't think I've ever even had them use the tire iron that came with the car. He then rudely told me he had the right to refuse service to anyone. So I had finally had enough and quite rudely told him that he didn't have any tools and he was expecting me to go to the tire shop to pay to get it fixed or quote that "it was still holding air so it should be fine". All while I'm using one of my roadside assistance calls to be treated rudely while he gets paid. I said go ahead and refuse service because "you're not doing me any good are you?" I did end up yelling an expletive at him. I am human and he was rude and lazy and I had yet to be informed of this obscure and by my own experience rarely enforced AAA policy that they can't use any tools to change your tire that don't come with your car and I had had enough of his attitude. I called the Mikes Pow r Tow dispatch and asked how are you going to send me a tow truck driver with no tools? Honestly how do they change anyone's spare tire if they expect everyone's original car tool set to be on board? I don't think I've ever had a car that had the original tool set intact. The dispatch instead of explaining to me AAA's policy to me just like Kevin failed to, started to yell at me "Do you know how many tools there are for cars?" I only mention AAA's policy just to be fair to this awful awful company. Also to shed light on their complete lack of common sense. Absolutely non existent customer service. Also apparent rigid conformity to policy while neglecting to inform on such policy. They sure were good at taking my ID, my AAA card and vin number and signature before even saying a word to me. They gotta make sure they get paid by AAA whether they are completely useless, incompetent and negligent in ensuring my safe travel by providing proper service. Now I will allow for AAA's policy to take a small amount of the blame here but I can only imagine what all the excellent tow truck drivers I've had would have to say about this company's lack of services and awful behavior. Kevin did tell me to "have a nice day sir" in such a disingenuous manner I did curse at him. It was the last straw in a very short and very bad experience with a very bad company. AAA later informed me of their policy but it just shows the incompetence of employees who would rather be unprofessional instead of citing said policy while subjecting me to an unsafe drive on an unsafe tire. read more

Why would you require your customer to sign a damage waiver for a nice car? Called for a tow and when the driver finally showed up he presented a waiver blanket damage waiver for me to sign, after I refused to sign it he refused to tow my car. Seems to me they have been sued too many times for damages to vehicles so they use this to cover liability. On a dark desert highway, freezing cold wind in our hair! Our truck stopped running and Jerry came and got us. We were trailering my husband's Harley and Jerry got that too. He took us to the most reputable repair shop in Kingman Arizona but it was closed. We couldn't leave the truck and trailer there because we had also loaded them with boxes. Jerry (in the middle of the night---so so cold) got us to the travel lodge. He was terrific - it was a long night but without his creative problem solving it would have been a disaster. read more

I have no idea how this place got good reviews. They overcharged us by $200 and when I just asked the driver what the extra charges were for he refused to answer my questions and started yelling at me saying things like, "It doesn't matter! We gave you an invoice so just pay it. If you don't pay in 15 minutes we will tow your truck." The towing process took about an hour and 40 minutes, and they are located 30 minutes away from where my driver was. We were charged $800. My truck needed batteries but we're still under warranty through AAA they are contracted through AAA but said they were out of the batteries I needed for my truck but they would contact me as soon as they got them. After 2 weeks of waiting went to Walmart and bought 2 batteries since my truck is diesel it takes 2.. when Mikes they finally returned my call they said batteries would be in on Tuesday so I told them when they came to replace that if they had to retest my batteries they would have to put them in my truck and then put my new ones back in when they were done. The man then said he would check with corporate and see about just trade them out, well that's been 3 weeks ago now and I haven't heard back. This tow company is a joke and are rude on top of that. These guys were called out to us by AAA. Our RV is a pain in the butt, and towing it turned out to be no less of a challenge. These guys tried their hardest - and it was over an hour before the first guy admitted defeat in trying to hook it up. They sent another tow truck out and this guy worked just as hard to help us out. They gave us the names of good mechanics and the other guy even came out to meet us at a campground so he could tow us in as the other vehicle was too big to get into the campsite. Great tow service and friendly drivers. I unfortunately had to get towed. I utilized my AAA membership both days. Towed from the gas station to an auto shop one day and the next day a long distance tow from Kingman to Flagstaff. Both drivers nice, polite and talkative, since I rode in their cab. Thankful they were fast to the call out. Never waited 30 mins or less for a tow, that was amazing! Would have gave 5-stars but the 50 miles outside my free miles came to $300, the charge was $6 a mile. That's really high! Since AAA charges $1.75 a mile. We were recommended to this tow service by the repair place we called. We were quoted an hour wait. After and hour and a half they had still not shown or called to update us. When we called again, they said another 15 minutes, which we waited, again without anyone showing up. When we called to cancel the tow (because we finally gave up and went with a different company) they were totally unconcerned with our cancellation or the fact that we told them exactly why we were cancelling. I recently had a flat tire, and AAA sent mikes to help me out, there was some confusion about where I was and AAA dropped the ball on informing, I have a terrible cold and could not speak much above a whisper. the driver told me the name of the road I should have used and I asked him to look at the sign in the median, the look on his face was priceless, I asked AAA to tell them I needed air, I asked the driver to air my spare, instead he just put it on the car and made a grunt noise and informed me it was fine, it ruined the spare trying to find a place to get air, early evening in Golden Valley AZ. All the guy had to do was put air in the tire but he refused I called Mikes tow and some girl, who began informing me they are not experts, I had no idea you have to be an expert to look at a tire gage. He connected me with the owner and worked out a safe place to put my car, the repair shop could not look at it that day. I really appreciate this company. Mikes Pow-R-Tow came out after we had a blow out. The man they sent hooked up our truck after it had body damage from the wreck that we were worried about and then proceeded to hook up and take off with our truck leaving it in park and grinding it into the asphalt. The Officer and other professionals all looked in amazement. We finally got to the yard after getting our insurance called and when asking about getting our personal things out of the truck got immediately inturrupted by the woman at the desk who we guess was having a bad day. We proceeded to tell her our concern about what the tow driver did when a man came into the office screaming vulger language ( We were shocked!) stating they didn't do anything, threatened to call the police (why, because we came to ask about it and get our belongings from the truck?) . My husband just walked out to go call our insurance . the man continued with mother f***** etc. It scared me as I was afriad he would come through to the other side of the counter as he was behaving in an aggressive and thretening way. These people are not professional and I would not go by yourself to their office. we assume our insurance had already told them before we got there of our concern of them further damaging our truck. The officer and other professionals at the scene all saw it an we got pictures of the grinded in asphault and truck in park. This will be rasily solved. He gets 2 miles down the road and says I have to pay another $300 to tow my trailer. I spoke with the manager at the office, I think her name was Beth. I would give them no stars except that's not an option. We had the misfortune of needing roadside assistance when our truck wouldn't start. Set up through my insurance company, we were given an ETA of an hour. Gave an hour and a half, called Mike's, was told the driver would be here "in a few minutes." I requested a call when the driver was coming, which was agreed to. Another 30 minutes go by and I call my insurance company who called Mikes and was told that the driver couldn't find the address we gave them. We google mapped our way here and was led right to the RV park. Then the insurance lady said they told her the driver called when he got here but left because there was no answer. So which is it? He couldn't find us, or he did and left because we didn't answer? My phone did not leave my side, so I don't believe he tried to call...and besides, we are the ONLY truck here like ours, and it had the hood up, so it would not have been difficult to find us if he drove the horseshoe.
