Update to my original post...when I was NEW (naive) customer. Thought I'd found a great mechanic but low & behold...just another disappointment! It's taken me awhile to write this since I do have other life priorities than writing reviews. But here it finally is. After they changed my front brakes, and let them convince me the rotors needed changed but...did not. What was I thinking?! Anyway...finally had funds to get the rear brakes done. Was given an estimate but then AFTER the brakes were done & I got the bill it was $200 higher (I realize and estimate is just that) however $200 when they couldn't get the ones quoted so got the more expensive ones, without telling me First! Considering I am barely surviving on SS (which they were aware of my financial constraints) but even if not...they should've told me BEFORE they did the job giving me the option to reschedule!! It wasn't a dire emergency! It wouldn't been the smart decision...it's just poor business sense if one really cares about retaining a customer! On top of that, the rotors unlike the front ones which aren't near as bad, have the greatest amount of brake dust I've ever experienced on my 19 yo car...it accumulates in less than 2 days! They constantly need Cleaned it's so horrendous and unsightly...and for $200 MORE?!?! Plus they Screech when I brake!! Unacceptable & Inexcusable!! I should've listened to a previous post to take business elsewhere. Another one bites the dust!! Literally! uUIp read more

Mike's Performance Garage - Front brakes - Auto Repair Near Me - Fort Pierce, Florida

We ended up not needing their services, but the professional and hospitable approach has won us over for next time.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Mike's Performance Garage. My air conditioner started making noises and blowing warm air, and I was dreading the potential cost and inconvenience of getting it fixed. However, as usual, Mike dealt with the issue with professionalism and a genuine commitment to solving my problem without gouging me with a costly repair. Mike diagnosed the issue and explained it to me in terms I could understand, which I really appreciated. He gave me a clear breakdown of the repair process and an estimate of the cost, which was fair and reasonable. He didn't JUMP to charge me for an expensive part that I didn't need (which the dealership would have done). The repair itself was completed in a timely manner, and when I picked up my car, the air conditioner was working better than ever. I have been going to Mike for my car repairs for many years as I value both his honesty as well as his dedication to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Mike's for their work, their honesty, and their attention to detail. read more

Today we had such a bad day as we encountered an emergency on the road; we had to get the car towed and then deliver it to the garage : we were just visiting from out of state and we immediately had our car problem resolved in a few hours ; service was great ; Mike was very informative about our car's issue and we felt pretty safe all the way to get our repair done ; thanks again Mike . read more

I needed an upper radiator hose replaced and then replace coolant on July 22. It took him less than 30 minutes. I was quoted $133.69. when finished and I had to pay they charged me $230.75. I asked where the extra $100 came from and she said labor. first of all first estimate should have covered labor but even if not how can they charge $200 an hr???? I am a 70 yr old widow and they took advantage of me. So frustrating read more

I would give zero stars!!!! The put a clutch in backwards on my Hellcat. Charged me for lift time And a battery they never gave me. Then they jumped my car (with the old battery) and killed the alternator. Charged me for that. Total was almost $7000. Had to go to Gearheads to fix it. Do not even think about bringing your car here. They are rip offs and clueless in the engine dept!!! read more

I called on saturday and Ray answered the phone, he asked how he can serve me. I explained I had a headlight out, he said they are not normally open in Saturday's, but he said to come in. Showed up, he looked at issue, and replaced the headlight on sight. Very friendly and knowledgeable on Mercedes Benz. I think I found a new home for all of my future maintenance and repair needs. I highly recommend servicing your car needs here, they even turned my on to #MyCarFax to track all of my service. read more

My friend recommended this garage to me. So I came here for asking repair of my car. Usually you have to book a schedule before get it done. I took a Porsche 911 to Mikes Performance for a PPI. I was really impressed with the detailed inspection and thorough job the guys at Mike performed. I'm not from the area, but I was in the middle of moving when my car's AC went out. Mike's Garage was able to get me in quickly and I saved a ton of money compared to what the dealership was trying to charge me. They replaced the condenser and added UV dye so any future issues will be easy to detect. He was super helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend coming here for auto issues! read more

I felt compelled to write a review after my experience as a recent customer at Mike's. I own a 2008 Ford Edge with 292,000 miles on it and haven't exactly been the best with maintenance over the years. I haven't had to because it's been quite dependable. However, I finally did have a big enough issue requiring the services of a full service mechanic and was lucky enough to discover Mike's. Mike and his technicians are what all garages and mechanics used to be, but should always be: honest, reasonable, and competent. Mike and his guys are all of these and then some. Their shop has an old school feel, but they are completely comfortable with today's automated and computerized systems in our vehicles. My car could probably use a thousand little things because of age and condition, but Mike focused on my original problem - a sudden and severe oil leak. During the repair, Mike and his guys discovered a couple of small things that took very little time or money to address and not only did I get my vehicle back with the original problem resolved at a competitive price point, but my old Ford came back to me idling smoother and running better then when I dropped it off. Mike and his guys are honest, efficient, professional, cost-conscious and knowledgeable. You would be hard-pressed to find a better local garage to take care of you. read more

I'm so appreciative to Mike and his team, during a holiday/ hurricane weekend my car broke down while passing through fort pierce. They were so helpful putting my car priority knowing we had to get back on the road! Getting it done within such a short time, even recommending a place to hangout to get a drink. Thank you so much Mike & staff! read more

recently I had mikes look at my car, repair would be over $1,000, understandable but $150 plus for a scan of my car . went elsewhere and car repair was $375, and free scan. mikes may be great but their prices are INSANE !!! read more

This place is tremendous. I searched for a mechanic with high reviews in the Fort Pierce and Vero Beach areas and came across Mike's. He had a ton of great reviews on Google. I asked Mike to do a thorough inspection on a used truck that I was buying from a stranger. He did the inspection including a compression test and walked me through everything that was right and wrong with the truck and told me how much each of the repairs would cost. He helped me negotiate a much lower price than I otherwise would have been able to pay on my own. His knowledge about the truck (Chevy C10) and ability to negotiate were impressive. I walked away happy with the price I paid for Mike's services and happy with the price I paid for the truck. Mike even followed up with me by phone to make sure I didn't have any problems. I'd highly recommend Mike's Performance Garage. read more

I was pretty frustrated because I had some faulty gauges, lights and other electrical items on my restored 1984 Jeep Scrambler that nobody seemed to be able to get working properly. I took the Jeep to Mike's and not only did they get everything working when no one else could they "educated" me on why and how they got everything working. I've been their several times now and it will be my go to for any of my automotive repair needs. I've recommended Mike's to my friends. Mike the owner is honest, friendly, and technically spot on. Mike's is an awesome place that goes above and beyond for the customer. Prices are fair and quality of work is high. By the way, they do great work on Harleys also. read more

My car broke down on the freeway, I was stuck in the middle of no where, I called Mike up and he was nice enough to take my car on short notice, diagnose the problem, fix the car and gave me a really good price. Everyone at the shop was honest, down to earth and extremely professional. Explained everything very well and spent the time to do the job right. Mike treated my car like it was his own, I couldn't ask for better service. I highly recommend Mike's shop to anyone, whether you're local or if you are unfortunate enough to break down in the middle of the turnpike. read more

Mike is an awesome mechanic and runs a great shop with skilled employees who really like working there; for example, Dr Glenn, the engine builder, is fantastic. I met Mike when I asked him to do a car inspection on a Ford Escape. Luckily, he did the inspection because I could have made a big mistake if it wasn't for him. Instead, I'm now driving a Ford Mustang that I LOVE. It was so nice to find an honest shop in the midst of so many that you can't trust. I also wanted to mention that he never talks down to anyone, even if you don't know much about cars. I highly recommend this place. read more

Mike and his team worked on both of our cars within a few weeks of each other - one that was eventually traded (ugh), and the other which they worked on maintenance issues that were neglected (yes, we're bad). We're really glad that we followed Mike's advice on both cars - the second car was finished ahead of schedule, the cost was reasonable and it drives likes new. The level of their expertise is obvious, and the warranty and roadside assistance is incredible! Thanks to Mike and his team! read more

One of the best places in town for sure. They will go above and beyond for you and your needs. Highly recommended. I've been to other shops that tried to scam me or try to confuse me because I don't know too much about cars, but at Mikes he will sit down and break everything down and take the time to tell you what's going on. Very appreciative of him and his staff! read more

Dude tipped less than 10% when I waited on him and then left me his business card... I can't say I'm motivated to use his services.

We're new to the area and just bought our first Class A motor home, which we knew nothing about. We needed patient, honest help. We got that - and a whole lot more from Mike and his staff! They came highly recommended by our fussy relatives who have an RV. Mike's guy Wayne has years of experience with Winnebago and other RV companies and really knows his stuff! Besides doing an extremely thorough inspection and correcting everything needed, he spent a lot of time with us answering questions and explaining various systems on the rig. Prices were very fair and work was done quickly and efficiently. Our new baby has some new papas to rely on - Mike, Wayne and Ray. read more

Mike Day is a true professional and a man of his word...a powerful combination!!! Mike has been taking care of my daughter's car for the better part of a year and I can say without reservation that you will not find a better mechanic, a better garage, or a better person than Mike and, by extension, his crew. When my daughter first took her car into Mike's, it was based on the recommendations I had seen online. Nevertheless, to be sure, I called (from a state many miles away) to find out if they would accept my credit card over the phone (yes!) and to please let me know IN ADVANCE the diagnosis and the work required so that there would be no surprises after the fact. True to his word, the work was done as promised AFTER Mike explained thoroughly what our options were. This level of professional care, honesty, integrity and personal interest in his clients' welfare speak volumes and are the hallmark of this extra-ordinary businessman and garage. I cannot express the gratitude I feel knowing that Mike is keeping my daughter's car in great condition and cannot recommend Mike's Performance Garage more highly. read more

Mike and his shop are truly excellent! My daughter & I had him do an inspection on a car that we were considering buying. Mike has great knowledge about all types of cars, & he took the time to give a descent inspection which let us know it wasn't a good deal & wasn't a good car. We are so glad we went to him because it would have been a terrible mistake to buy it. Other people in the waiting room raved about him because he runs an honest shop with great services at fair costs. We came from the Clearwater area to look at the used car we were considering, & we were so fortunate to have someone care even though he knew it was unlikely we would return to his shop. He also gave us great advice on what to look for when looking at a used car, so we wouldn't get bamboozled... What a great shop! We wish we lived closer to this business. read more
