When John called to deliver the bad news and walk me through my options / his recommendations he was so kind and patient, answering every single one of my questions with plenty of detail. The night before, I had left him a voicemail and had mentioned a possible warranty on the engine in passing. He went above and beyond by calling local dealerships and checking (I believe it was) NHTSA to see if there were any active warranties that would cover me. The entire time I felt like this team had my best interest at heart. I know they probably see tons of customers a week, but they made me feel like more than just another job, which meant the absolute world to me. Unfortunately, my best option was to get a new car. While I worked through everything with Hyundai and searched for a replacement, they've let me keep my car on their lot for a generous amount of time, leaving me with one less thing I've had to worry about during this very stressful time. It's 7:27 pm now and no phone call to reschedule or apologize for not making the appt or reschedule. We had been told by a couple people that my son's car needed a new starter - Will easily identified a battery terminal issue after a quick diagnostic. Within a couple minutes, Will knew what the issue was, and we were able to go down to the auto parts store and purchase everything we needed for under $20. He was able to get the car running in less than an hour and went above and beyond to make modifications to one part I bought (battery bracket) because the store didn't have the exact type we needed. Will's work was pristine. I cannot say enough about how great of an experience this was. He is also very kind and pleasant! Additionally, I would like to note that he performed all repairs that were requested, he arrived within 25 minutes of my call, on a Sunday, in the snow, and had everything done within an hour (part of this hour was him waiting on my trip to the auto parts store!). He was very personable and gave a thorough explanation of his inspection. He did a complete inspection that was the same quality as the franchise inspection services, including the OBD codes, electrical checks, and visual inspections, as well body structural checks. He also did a test drive for us. He also discussed the various aspects of the possible generic shortcomings of the model we were considering and what to watch for. But overall he felt that the vehicle we were considering was a solid vehicle that would serve us well when he gave us his overall assessment of it. You could tell he was knowledgeable and had worked on and understood cars. The fee for inspection was extremely fair and less than the franchise inspection services. He will do some repair work on request. I highly recommend Chad Taylor's Sales Technician and will gladly give 5 stars! (I no longer live in Crawfordsville.)
