The driver, Kerry (Carey?) came promptly and suggested we go look for the keys. He drove us to the set of stairs we had climbed from the beach up to Beach Loop Drive. My husband, our dog, and I went down the stairs and began retracing our steps as well as we could. We found the keys!!! Kerry/Carey drove us back to the South Jetty to our car. He asked only for $20. The spaces are immaculate. I've never been in a cleaner airport! The TSA staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient. The two launch points are about a 24 minute drive apart. Bay city takes off: 5400 Hayes Oyster Drive, Bay City Oregon Wheeler takes off: Hemlock Ave and Highway 101, Wheeler Oregon On your tour, you'll have 2 guides - one in front and one in back. They will help direct traffic and keep the pace (sort of). Otherwise just enjoy the view and peddling through nature for 2 hours. Complaint: I was distraught that you will sign a terms & conditions form not once but TWICE with one statement that says "I will not intentionally bump other Railriders" and yet our car was full steam rammed into by the car behind us which ejected the back seats and ended up leaving all of my family with various bruises (legs and arms mostly). Luckily there were no serious injuries, but it could have turned out really bad. Our guides were very apologetic and took the time to check on us but there was nary a warning given to the car behind us who continued to banter us the whole 4 miles back to our starting point - at one point, even blaming us for the incident "they deserved to get hit because they didn't put up their fists". Yo, do you even drive bro? Do you willingly rear-end cars for fun? While we took the blunt of the force, his crash was very much also felt in different intensities through to the front (~4 more cars). Keeping a safe distance is very key - make that VERY CLEAR to the car behind you. I strongly believe that ORR needs to change their rules from "love taps and pushes are okay" to "keep a one car distance. if you happen to love tap or push the car in front, please slow down."

We left the dock around 7:30, cruised out about 20 minutes and had fish on as soon as we dropped our lines. We caught so many fish we started throwing back the small ones. On the way back in we opted to pull the crab pots...came home with 8 nice crab. We paid Jim $1 per fish to filet and package them for us. Bring an ice chest! We went back to our rental house and had an amazing fish fry and crab fest!

We stayed here during a time that they were having terrible storms on the Oregon coast, high winds…read moreand lots of rain. I know it rains a lot in Oregon but this was torrential rains. The gentleman in the office was very nice and warned us of the upcoming storms. He told me of some great restaurants and a light show at a nearby botanical garden that was decorated for the holidays. Our spot was a pull thru that was paved and plenty long enough to accommodate our rig, full hook ups with a picnic table. The park has mostly full time tenants as you can tell but not in that creepy feeling full timers. As this is a very well kept park. As we drove through Coos Bay we noticed that this was the right choice in places to stay. Our only gripe was the trash cans are on the opposite ends of the park so in the nasty weather you are running to get to the trash. And the pet area was a little small, although they do supply a pooper scooper which is much better to clean up after our furry friends.
