This is my go-to lunch spot, no doubt about it. Best affordable paninis there is, and the meal deal is awesome. I'm a spicy foodie so I always get the El Diablo, and I've tried the Joker and other sandwiches, and they're all equally good! You can come in and sit down and have a bite or take it away with you, even grab some grub before or after or even between classes. This place is so conveniently close to King's College, it's amazing. I've got nothing bad to say about this place at all, it's cozy and welcoming and feels like home. All the employees are friendly, and the food never disappoints. The only downside that is that they close at 16:00 :( Now that I'm back in America, Grub is all I've been craving lately and I'm so sad I can't get some now. Will always remember this as my lunch hangout with my friends. Thanks for all the good food Grub!

We came in so near to closing that I felt bad, but the staff welcomed us warmly and we were not rushed in the slightest. Not only did we each order mains, but an appetizer, wine, they graciously brought my younger sons ice cream from the kid menu (well after closing time), and when we were trying to leave they brought espressos with biscotti and insisted we stay. The food was impeccable and authentic, made with love, excellently seasoned and well presented. I truly cannot recommend La Lombarda highly enough.

During the weekend it would definately be advised to book in advance as they can get quite busy. As the restaurant is located on the corner of king street and castle gate, the location couldn't be much better for either grabbing a bite to eat while shopping during the day or having an enjoyable meal with a few pals before a night out.

This is not only the birthplace of the deep-fried Mars bar but it also has award winning fish and chips. So we ordered both and I was in deep-fried heaven. Soft and yielding fresh tasting fish covered in delicate and crispy batter. The chips were textbook perfect covered in malt vinegar and salt. It was delicious beyond belief and the homemade tartar sauce was silky and flavourful. The deep fried mars bar was so good it made my tooth ache and made my heart skip a beat. The lady who took our order was very congenial and the cook seemed to be completely at ease standing over big vats of oil, which bubbled golden and comfortably. I cannot believe how wonderful this place is to have so much deep fried offerings. I wish I could try everything on the menu but I barely finished my big serving of halibut and chips.
