I did go in several times to do some writing for my Masters Dissertation, when I didn't want to spend another day in the library or just needed a change of pace. (I will say, this cafe isn't the best for super focused working. The volume was a bit too loud, with various conversations happening in different corners and music playing as well. I was on occasion able to find a nook that gave me a bit more privacy and quiet though.) I also brought friends in to try my neighborhood spot, and then we would be those people chatting away. My usual choice was their chai latte, it was not too sweet, creamy, and well spiced. The overall vibe was just so cheery and cosy, with walls of used books for perusing and purchase, yellow paint, and windows out onto Belmont St for Grade A people-watching. Super cool that all of their coffee and tea is FairTrade, and they're the only independent, fully fair trade coffee shop in Aberdeen. Woop, I'll keep supporting them for sure. Can't wait for my next visit this summer!

If its on your table green side up the servers will keep piling your plate with more Brazilian barbecued meat, sausages, steak, chicken, pork etc. when you have enough you turn it to the red side. Want more meat? No problem, flip it back to green and they are there with more meats!!! They also have a pretty big self service style salad bar with noodles, chips, coleslaw and all that good stuff. Can't wait till my next visit!!!

You know the score with this one, you get as much meat as you can eat delivered to you on skewers,…read morethe fun doesn't have to stop until you decide. I found some of the beef related foods to be a touch gristley, but that could have just been bad luck on my part on the two times i visited this place. The first time i loaded up on so much meat that i felt ill, so on my second visit i tried to pace myself a bit more and try out some of the items on the 'salad bar' they offer. I am actually glad i did in all honesty. The pork and black bean stew was actually pretty good, the mash was creamy, the chilli sauce was good, the coleslaw had chicken through it, the potatoes were a bit crunchy and gross, but other than that it was all pretty good. In all honesty, i just don't have the stomach capacity to fully take advantage of this place, i didn't even get through all of the meat i paid for on the second visit. I paid for the £11 lunch menu, which seemed quite good value, though drinks are quite expensive in here. The staff were all incredibly polite and helpful, i did notice that all of them looked to thin to be eating in here all the time. If you like shoveling loads of food into your gullet, like some sort of mad king at a feast, then this might be the place for you.
