Beware!!! Heads up, this is a lengthy one because I have had quite the experience with Mike's Auto Forum and I want to save you guys from a huge headache. I had read reviews on this place and figured I'd still give them a chance because their prices are seriously unbeatable...big mistake. I got my 2015 Chevy Sonic for a great price and took it home the next day which was great. The only thing I left without when I got my car was the second key I was promised, but he said it would be ready in a week so that wasn't a big deal I thought. Well, I called the dealership at the end of the week, month, and every month since and kept getting the same answer, we are working on it. So that was really irritating especially because the plastic piece on the key I was given was breaking apart!...but I'll get back to this later. Back to the car: About 6 months later it started having problems. It was jumping when it came to stops and it sounded very strange. I called and then brought it in. Mike said it would be ready in a couple of days (mind you this was my only means of transportation so I made sure he knew I needed it back quickly). Well a week goes by and he says he still needs more time. So another week goes by and it's still not done. He did finally fix it, but I honestly have no idea what was wrong with it to this day because when I tried to pressure him for an answer he just said "it's fixed now." He is very sarcastic and patronizing which is not fun to deal with when I already know that I don't know a ton about cars. So that experience was extremely frustrating, but again I let it go. Next, a little over a year we had had the car and on St. Patrick's Day my boyfriend got into an accident (and of course he only had liability insurance). I called the dealership once more because I know they specialize in Chevy Sonics and have the parts there to do it for a cheaper price. I had it towed over and Mike said he will fix everything for $3,000 and it would be done in 1-2weeks. I made sure I repeated the timeframe he gave me back to him because of our previous encounter, and he assured me 2 weeks tops. I said that's great, I had just found out that I would be moving to out of state at the end of April so that time would work (I told him I was moving April 15th just to be sure though ). Well, here we go again. One week goes by, I call, he says they're working on it. He said should be done in 2 days. I call in 2 days and get the same response. I wait a whole week and then call back. He says it'll be done after the weekend. At this point I was getting sooooo frustrated!! I told him I need him to tell me the truth at where they are at with the car because Ubering to and from work for both me and my boyfriend for a whole month was getting expensive! Mike sent me pictures of my car at that point, and I was infuriated! It looked worse than when I brought it in! The car was in pieces and everything was exposed. He had had my car all of that time and that was where we were at. At this point, I was ready to bring it somewhere else because I was going to be DRIVING TO NORTH CAROLINA in 3 days!!! Well literally 1 day before I left it was finally finished. Oh, and finally after over a year of waiting I got my second key that he had promised! I will NEVER go back to Mike's Auto Forum again, and I highly suggest you stay away as well. They have no sense of urgency, are understaffed, and give all of their time and attention to the cars they just got from an auction and are selling at that moment. I love Mike's! I bought a 2016 Sonic Chevrolet from here last year and the car was in good condition and reasonably priced. If your looking for a good used car that won't brake the bank, this is definitely the place to come. I still take my car to Mike for repairs. He always delivers promptly and does good work. The fact that he's open late on weekdays and open on Saturday is a major plus! Garbage company, I could probably do better than this. I bring in a white Chevy Sonic for a 250 deductible to fix a coolant leak and doesn't fix it. It took 3 weeks to wait for the car too. (All he said was that he tightened up the hoses to the radiator). I try bringing it in AGAIN to have him re fix the coolant leak and says I have to pay another 250 and probably wait another 3 weeks and he'll still probably not fix it. Don't let these other reviews scare you, not every car with a rebulit title was a total wreck, most of the time these cars just needed light repair and paint. Bought a car for my 16yr old daughter because it was an incredible deal. First of all, the advertised car wasn't even on their lot - I don't know if it ever existed. We were instead presented with a Chevy Cobalt. Just so you know, the cars he sells have been in accidents and deemed "totaled". These guys fix them, get them certified by the state, and then sell them....so make SURE you know what you're buying. We wheeled and dealed, and we paid cash up front, the only way he'll accept payment. After many, many delays, we ended up with the car 5 weeks later than promised. I'm in the same boat as another reviewer, now our temporary plates are expired, and he hasn't even filed the paperwork with the secretary of state. SO FRUSTRATING. Good price on a car, but definitely not worth the headache. Now I have to drive 1.5 hours EACH WAY to his shop to pick up a new temporary plate. Wonder if he EVER plans on filing my paperwork.....probably not. Plus, now that it's hot out, we realized the air conditioning isn't working. read more

I'd originally went to purchase a 2012 sonic fro 6k. Good price? WRONG all of the cars they buy at auction. After putting a 1.5K deposit it took nearly two weeks to hear back. they were very unprofessional and I ended up getting my deposit back after 3 days. Purchased a 2015 Sonic in 2016, and this dealer (Mikes Auto Forum) delivered the vehicle without windshield-washer system, and headlight trims (supposedly due to a shortage). Later we had heating fan and low idle issues, so I paid the $250 repair fee to get those repaired and he put in the windshield washer reservoir and pump, but still no trim rings. I was told he would mail to me, just send a reminder. I sent a reminder every month for over 2 years, still never sent, I gave up. This was a second car I purchased from him, never again. read more

I am waiting on my plates, but in the meantime, I am driving a new, safe vehicle that is not leaking fluids, running rough and a loud muffler like my previous car. They will waste your time. We called because they had a great deal on a 2012 Sonic LS listed on Auto Trader. Called them on Friday to confirm the car was still available. Called on Saturday for the vin number so we could get a quote from the insurance company and was told they weren't that kind of company. They don't give vin numbers over the phone or online. Confirmed that the car was still there, arrived literally 20 minutes later and we were told that the car was sold, but they had others available...I don't know about you, but Ive never been able to go to any type of dealership and buy a car under 20 minutes. Many delays just to get the vehicle over the first few months, but now we have yet to see a title or license plates. Nothing but delays and excuses from day one. I called him once to ask about one car and he said "that car is not available, but we have another car" and continued to give me information on another car, which sounded great. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! Mike is so unprofessional!! Long story short. I went to look at cars that was posted on the website, on a Saturday, and wen I got there, and of course, they said the cars were sold (false advertisment.) I personally think they never had them or posted the cars they did have at a lower price. Anyway, so then Mike and his mechanic started to show me more expensive cars, which I was interested in one of them. So fast forward, I did the paperwork, and tried to do the down payment, but he only accepted cash, check, or zelle. My zelle wasnt allowing me to send the amount, so he suggested 3 things; that I go to the gas station ATM, zelle him half, then the other half, or put down a holding fee. Before I gave him the money, I asked him several times "will I get my money back if something happens or im no longer interested?" and not to mention my family was there with me. He told me yes. So I put down a holding fee and I asked him for a receipt to say it was a "holding fee" and he told me that the paperwork that I filled out was good enough and I had nothing to worry about. That was a mistake of my own. However, come the next business day, I contacted him and told him Im no longer interested in the car and Mike got mad and told me that he can not give me my money back and the holding fee was actually a down payment. He tried to tell me that he will charge me a restocking fee; which was half of the holding fee. He argued that the holding fee was refundable only if I couldnt get financing; which he NEVER mentioned. Mike was very rude, arrogant, he's a liar, very dishonest, and a scam artist. He was trying to tell me that a holding fee is a down payment. So after arguing with him for over 10 minutes about the things he never told me and the things he did tell me, he finally decided to give me my money back. Dont do business with Mike, he will screw you over. And last thing, Mike says that you have a bumper to bumper warranty, but if you needed anything fixed, it will cost you $250. read more

We purchased a car from Mike last year. The car has performed well and we have been satisfied with the work done. There have been a couple minor issues but they are negligible and don't take away from the value of the purchase. The only issue at Mike's is the customer service. They do not communicate what is needed often and fail to contact you to move things forward, and in our case actually gave us incorrect information. Mike has a gruff personality than can be off putting. He will typically make you feel like you are annoying him when you call. It's important to note that they never call to update you so you have to call to get any information. They do not put a lot of things in writing so a lot of times you end up having to take them at their word. They will also make it sound like an imperative that you get money to them quickly to speed the process up but it never mattered as I was always waiting on them. All that being said we are happy with the car. I would have preferred that they had called me the second the title arrived but instead I had to call and go out there to sign it ASAP. They do good work on their cars and the warranty is a nice catastrophe plan. It isn't helpful for little things that go wrong since the standard service charge is $250 for any work done so you end up being better off taking it to someone else. read more

I've had many problems with my 2010 Chevy Cobalt LT from Mike's Auto Forum: Check engine light, Leaky hoses from the transmission, damaged hub assembles, problems with power locks, you name it. The owner Mike refused to fix the leaky trans hoses and the assembles over a year ago. I had to fix all the above myself, and just recently I went to get my check engine light fixed and he agreed to fix it. I paid $250 deductible and had my car taken in for over a week. I'm convinced that he didn't do anything at all to fix the problem. When i picked up the car the check engine light was gone, but reappeared as soon as i got home! I gave Mike a call and he told me to bring the car in again to see what they can do for me. Mike refused to fix my check engine light and everything else wrong with car AFTER HE ALREADY TOOK MY MONEY. This place not very professional and they do not work with you at all.The point is, DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE, but if you do just know the WARRANTY THEY OFFER IS A SCAM. read more

I definitely got more bang for the buck at Mikes. I saved at least 5 K by buying from Mike. Throw in the 5yr/60k warranty that comes with the purchase ( no sales person trying to sell you an extended warranty), and you would be crazy not to buy a car from Mike. After about a week I noticed a small drip coming from under my car, I ended up driving over to mikes auto forum and spoke to the mechanic which in turn took a look at the vehicle and within 20 mins had the problem fixed.. With no problems ... They kept theyre word when it came down to fixing my car anytime something is wrong.. that 5 year bumper to bumper warranty comes in handy.. Mike, the owner, doesn't keep his word, so make sure you have everything little thing in writing. Heck! I wouldn't even dare to do business with this place, if I were you. This is definitely a lesson learned for us. He's not only rude and arrogant, he's so unprofessional and hostile. He gave us a hard time and threatened us before we were able to get our deposit back. Which took over a month to get. Mind you, it was not our fault that the loan wasn't getting approved nor have we even had a chance to see the car yet coz it never arrived as what Mike promised, but he acted very aggressive that left my son traumatized in dealing with owners like him. It was my son's first time buying and already had a bad experience. He hung up on us a few times when all we asked was for the status of the refund. But, the worst part is that the car will most likely break down shortly after you purchase it. They put "band aid's" on the car so it will pass the inspections and work well initially, but will eventually start to give you problems. Bought an 2007 cobalt, no problem for 2 weeks. After two weeks it just started making all kinds of weird noises. took it to his place and he got angry because I had no appointment. understandable. so I make an appointment. Took the car there after the appointment and left it there 3 weeks! (oh and I had to rent a car in the meantime) after constant calling he said its ready to pick up. I go pick it up the car and after driving it, nothing's changed. Not to mention the $250 deductible went down the drain. took the car to a friend of mine and fixed for $1200. Sway bars, suspension etc. Oh and it took over 6 months to get the registration. That too after constant calling. Mike is a fraud also very rude. Stay away from that guy. read more
