To preface - I am writing this review as a mom of a 1.5 and 2.5 year old but providing my insight…read moreas a former homeschooled child (2nd grade - 6th grade) visiting museums ad nauseam. The set up of this museum is underwhelming but overwhelming in the moment. After purchasing tickets, you walk immediately into a water table area which is quite large but hard for little kids to interact with the water. By little kids, I mean 1.5 (walking age) to 3 yo old. Big kids are running around and throwing balls into the water and there are maybe 5 step stools total to use to reach the water. It might be a nice add to have a little kids water area attached to the larger water table. Plus the seating for parents are plastic Adirondack chairs. Maybe they're easier to clean or replace but additional benches might be a better use of the seating. All in all, it's a rather jolting start to the museum experience. Next, you have to go back out to the lobby area to catch ONE elevator to go up to the second and third floors. The second floor was so packed, we could hardly get off the elevator. I have to preface, we are in spring break but I kid you not, every single station and toy was being used and the kids were FERAL. Bigger kids were running around, shoving younger kids out of the way (lord of the flys iykyk) which is understandable cause 6-9 year old are hyped up too. But the set up was really hard to go from one area to the next without elbowing someone in the face. The stations were cool but the flow is not the best. Speaking for 6-9 year olds too, it seemed hard for them to really play cause there were so many little kids in the way. I'm not sure how to combat something like this (accommodate for diff age ranges) but there was simply not enough space overall. And no big jungle gym or trampoline area or plastic ball area with nets for the opportunity to fling their little kid bodies around. The third floor was extremely underwhelming and a poor use of space. I think the skeleton of the dinosaur takes up way too much room and the space can be utilized a lot better by brining it down to the area with the train set. Upstairs could be a huge opportunity for a jungle gym, plastic ball pits or netting or airplanes or something else that is a lot more interactive. I feel like the set up of the museum is off. There is no natural flow and people get stuck in each of the stations. Especially if you have multiple kids you're trying to chase, it's kinda a nightmare. All in all, we won't be returning until the kids are older and it's way too hot outside to do anything else.

The tickets are 25 per person for general admission, but you can get discounts on various sites. After going though the gift shop, there is an interactive area with a play grounds, mini golf, splash pad, and fossil excavation. There are also two indoor areas, including an animatronic dinosaur display, and skeleton display. Going further are various areas of static dinosaur statues, with plenty of dinosaurs to see. There is also a mammoth area as well. You can easily spend an hour or two just seeing the displays. They also added an animatronic dinosaur band, which is very similar to Chuck E Cheese. Staff are friendly and very helpful, but I wish there were more to explain the dinosaurs and displays. While most of the area and activities are free, there are some additional costs for other activities. If you want to do fossil excavation and the train ride, that cost extra and you can buy a package for them. There is also a dinosaur scooter ride for 5 dollars, which your can ride a dinosaur shaped scooter around an area for 3 minutes. It's similar to the animal scooters you see at the malls. There are also animatronic dinosaur rides for a dollar, which are near the indoor museum area. It's a slow moving ride that lasts two minutes. Best of all, adults are allowed to ride too. Various photo ops are available as well, including a saddled dinosaur to cowboy up on. Parking is free and there are no metal detectors or scanners to go though. It is a tourist trap attraction, but a very good one especially if you love dinosaurs. While the regular admission plus extra costs for other activities can get expensive, it's still worth going at least once. Kids and adults will enjoy this fun place! Overall: A

The dinosaurs are spread out across a long and mostly shaded walk way, and there is a nice variety of dinosaurs with an explanation for each one. There are also some indoor and air conditioned exhibits too with animatronic dinosaurs. As for little kids, there is a playground inside and a mini putt-putt course. The putt-putt course is very small and limited, but it's included with admission. There is also a dinosaur dig for an extra charge, but we did not do that. There are a couple of food and snack spots, but they seemed pretty limited in their offerings.

So we did, but then the usher said we needed to redeem that at will call. Just seemed their system isn't very modern. It's also not that cheap. The air conditioning definitely wasn't on in the summer and they charge a convenience fee but say the shows are priced "low" to share events with everyone, which seemed disingenuous. If I may wrap in the show to the review, we went to see the music of Burt Bacharach which was scheduled for 2 hours. The jazz renderings were fine, singer and band were competent but not well known, but they only did an hour of Bacharach, about a half hour of random songs, then left early, possibly to beat the traffic. My mom was so disappointed as she listed all the song she hoped to hear and didn't. They definitely had time to cover a lot more of what they promised and just didn't. I did a follow up survey on this and for a form response. Plenty of parking and the ushers who were volunteers seemed nice. The venue could be decent for small shows if the AC is turned on. The show was definitely overpriced for what it was. It would make a decent lounge show while we had drinks. The ticketing system, comfort, and show were all lacking for me.
