These donuts are fresh made and quite often made while you wait for your order. They compare favorably to cider mill donuts in size and texture where there are multiple toppings to choose from to include the cinnamon sugar you get at cider mill's. Nice! If you are fan of these types of donuts, which I am, you should definately check this place to but be warned they are very popular on Saturdays and Sunday mornings with long lines out the door during peak tourist season in the summer. Baskets of produce piled high, you get the idea. I've had the best crispy grapes and sweet cherries here I've ever come across. Also honey crisp apples. For being smaller than Walmart, I find they have a good selection that is well-presented and easy to find. If I need anything I don't see, I just ask and some items can even be ordered especially for me like they do in larger stores. I feel like things are clean and neat most of the time. I do wish they would do away with the meat counter since they don't custom cut anything. I'd rather have something new and exciting, like a deli type area with samples of dinner meal kits you can buy all in one bag right there and cook at home, or a pizza station or maybe a coffee and adult beverage bar for the husbands! I also wish they'd expand their deli counter with a bigger variety of foods, even food with more of a local touch, things the community likes. Homemade stews, shepherd's pie, soups, things like that. The store is convenient, better-looking than the other small stores nearby, and they have a good variety of services too. Oh, and you can shop online now and pickup in-store, which is something else the larger guys usually have. Parking is good, service is good, really can't complain and am just glad they are in this small town.

Person three ahead of us in self checkout had multiple times when assistance was needed (flashing light). One of those times it took over 10 minutes for help to arrive. Another painfully waiting customer said an employee told her that the boss had cut hours and short staffed the store. I've never had to wait 30 minutes in a self serve line. Shop anywhere but here! Try Louie's or Rogers first! Plus, they were sold out of several items on our shopping list.

We stopped in here to pick up last minute essentials for our trip up north. The store, while not huge like a Meijer or Walmart, was well-stocked with all the essentials, including a very nice "wine cellar" area and deli. The store was clean and had a good layout. I like these smaller town grocery stores like this one. They even sold paint supplies and home decor items. It was kind of unique and unexpected. I didn't expect to see something like that in a small town grocery store. I found everything I needed very easily even though I've never been in this store before. Prices were pretty low on everything and they had some incredible deals on local wines and beers, some Northern Michigan wine brands marked down to $5 per bottle. We picked up the few things we needed for our trip and were in and out of here within a few minutes. There was no line- this definitely was not Meijer or Walmart- and no wait, which I appreciated because I really just wanted to get back to the hotel. After all, my hot tub was waiting!

If you have spent any time at all "Up North" on this side of the state you know that liquor selections are a bit limited especially when it comes to the better stuff. On my initial trip here I was pleasantly surprised to find Wild Turkey Rare Breed (one of my all time favorite Bourbons) and Four Roses single Barrel which is also an excellent Bourbon which I immediately bought. Prices were at the State Minimum which was another huge plus so no Mark Ups here. Yay! I would say this business along with Rogers in Oscoda have the best selection of liquor in the area relative to mid to higher end products. It is definately a business to keep on your short list of go to liquor places in the area realizing that nobody in this area will have a large selection of better liquors that you will readily find in Metro Detroit and you need to adjust your expectations based on that. Having said that, this is one of two best liquor options in the area that sells at state minimum and would suggest you definately check this business out the next time you are near Mikado especially if you have booze on your shopping list.

The Our Family brand of products are very high quality and reasonably priced. It is wonderful to know we can shop for groceries at such a great supermarket while vacationing in Lewiston.
