We located Lightning Contractors LLC online and spoke with Maria. She was very understanding and told us someone would be out to assess the work that same day. Daniel took many photographs of the work that needed to be done. He and his team were here the next morning and in about 3 hours time, all the damaged shingles and ventilation pipes were replaced or repaired...and all for a very reasonable price! Oh yes, they supplied us with numerous before-and -after photographs to give to the new owners. I would highly recommend Daniel and his team for any roof repair work. Timely...good quality workmanship...and all at a very fair price. Job well done! R.G.H.

If you're looking for a professional, responsive and competitively priced contractor, stop looking…read more My concrete front porch and steps had rusted out and was no longer safe to use. I did my research and contacted several contractors who made appointments to visit and provide a quote. Needless to say, most weren't interested I guess, because several didn't show up after making appointments or when they did their quotas were ridiculously high. Eduardo of Eagle Roofing & Masonry was by far the most professional and responsive contractor I've ever dealt with and I'm a Director of Operations for a high rise! Most importantly, after completing the project, there were a couple of minor issues, but Eduardo was more than happy to come back and take care of them. Lastly, Eagle Roofing is the kind of contractor you've been looking for.

When I let Eduardo know, he went back and forth with me via text for about 39 minutes saying I used salt on the concrete. That was it, he took no accountability, just that I used salt and ruined my own walkway I spent thousands on. He then offered to see it in person (which he should have just said in the first place) and told me over and over I used salt during the winter. Anyone who knows me knows that I wouldn't use salt and in fact have been using sand. He asked to see the bag, I brought it up and then he said, I was using salt. He then asked how many people live in the building (not important, the city sidewalk doesn't look like this, neither does the walkway in the back, which is decades old). It was really weird and he took absolutely no accountability for what might have happened, as I only stated the work was not aging well. He just kept saying he did a good job, etc and that I used salt. After all of that, he said he could fix it (sir, you should have led with that). The price he gave was high and ultimately I didn't think I should have to pay more for work that didn't really hold up after 2.5 years. So just know if you get concrete work and it looks bad after a few years, he'll blame you over and over before finally offering an expensive solution.

I opted for a company with a flat rate, which was a bit higher than the lowest bid, based on the reviews I read and the added peace of mind provided by Yelp's guarantee. We scheduled a time, and they pleasantly surprised us by arriving early. Since we have gardens surrounding our house, we were concerned about potential damage to our newly planted seedlings and the fresh mulch. We discussed this beforehand, and they clearly explained their process to prevent any issues and assured us they would clean up thoroughly. The entire process was quick and efficient. After they finished, we inspected the work and found that everything was done just as promised. I highly recommend their service!

I think their rates were reasonable, and I would definitely recommend and/or hire them again.

They added a bunch of roofing material to my roof hatch cut out making it much harder to fit the hatch on top of the opening. I had to end up cutting back a bunch of the extra roofing material to make it fit and hired a handyman to help me do that. They also left nails and garbage on the roof and in the backyard. They left a broken plastic tube that expels water from the furnace hanging over the side of the house where it was splashing onto us in the gangway. When I asked Nick on a Sunday to have someone come back and take a look at it he said someone would come look on Monday. I didn't hear from anyone until five days later on Saturday morning when Nick said he would come look at it. I told him I had already fixed it. To be clear, I think the tube got ripped in the storm damage, but they could have told me about it or at least not left it hanging over the side of the house if they weren't going to fix it. Communication was really bad too. They came out right before a downpour on a Monday and had to pause work in the middle of that. They were then going to come back the next day, but then told me later they would come back Friday. Nick told me his guy would come Friday morning possibly before 8am. I was surprised to have JR on my porch and calling me at 6:10am. I've never had a contractor show up that early and told him I couldn't disturb the 2nd floor tenants that early. JR said he would be back at 1pm. He came back at 8:55am instead without explanation and expected to be let in. When Nick and company failed to show up to address the plastic tubing situation, he said he felt bad and wanted to make it up to me. I told him he could send me back $100 for my time and effort addressing issues related to the roof job. I spent 2-3 hours of my time addressing roof issues (tubing and roof hatch), going to Menards, and spent money on a handyman. He has yet to reply and that was three days ago. The price was decent, but I very much feel like I got what I paid for and had to pay extra in both my time and money to remediate the project. I would not hire them again.
