Teachers were rude, often had high schoolers teaching my classes when they lacked the required knowledge necessary for basic patterns, and was overall an expensive two months of my life. read more

Enthusiastic and positive environment that puts children first. Constructive emphasis that balances doing your best and doing it right.

They treat students like family also the staff are amazing and the sparing tournaments are great.

My daughter (11) and son(6) go to Mightyfist from last 2+ years . I must say Mr. Morris is very professional and at the same time kind and supportive . My kids started classes in pandemic time and since then we continued. They are very accommodative with my 6yeqr old son as he has sometimes difficulties in theory . This is near to our home at a very good location and I definitely recommend it . My daughter and son is on blue belt green stripe . read more

Both my kids currently go to MightyFist, elder one from 4yrs and younger one from 2.5yrs. We're grateful to Master Morris and team for the continued nurturing and guidance to both the kids. One specific thing I would like to highlight about my elder one is : Even after failing in first attempt of black belt test due to less practice and fitness issues during Covid, the next 6 months gave a chance to thorough practice and my elder one finally passed the test. Appreciate the team for being patient and guiding the kid to consider this as an opportunity, and cherish the value of achievement through consistent practice. My younger one joined during covid and it's because of warm welcome everyday she receives from the instructors and Ms.Morris, she enjoys her class. She always looks forward to learn from Master Morris. I definitely recommend this place! read more

My 2 kids have been going here 6 months and have advanced from white belt to yellow strip and now yellow belt. They both love coming to class 2x a week. Location is convenient and all the instructors are friendly and good with kids. We look forward to keep coming here. read more

This place is a literal scam. The instructors are not certified, and are all not paid since they need the volunteer hours for their college application. read more

This place is a crap. Parents don't waste your money and your kids time with this place. This is a family owned business and Mr. Morris is a money minded guy. He took $800 for black belt testing and failed my kid in the run. They never trained the students for their run. No proper instructors here. No communication to parents with kids their progress. No proper teacher to students ratio. Each class is over crowded with many students. He makes fun of girls in the class. If your kid is sensitive better to stay away from this place. read more

My kid is going there for several years. This is a family run business, not professional. All family members are "instructors" and I will not be surprised if their pet becomes instructor soon. They dont meet with parents, not sharing feedback and very unprofessional. They dont prepare students well for the final Black Belt test. Running is important but not much effort to ensure students are doing this. There are other prerequisites that the place does not help students do. Very Money Minded. They have 2 plans - one time for Black Belt and monthly. Today was the Black Best test and guess what, a large number of failure. Not very surprising, all the students that passes are ONE TIME plan, that mightyfist does not have the motivation to keep them. Most failed students have to continue till September and guess what, they make money every month. The place is thriving because there is no alternative here. Good luck to them but I will not recommend anyone going there. read more

My son has been at Mightyfist for several years and he is very happy with Master Morris. The assets are discipline, self-confidence and fitness! I strongly recommend this Dojang. read more

I've been training at this dojang for 6 years, and it is one of the most authentic and rewarding experiences I've ever had. Master Morris, his family, and a few other main instructors create a good balance between discipline and fun, and it's a wonderful place to learn, exercise, and just experience the art/sport of Taekwon-do. Master Morris and his family are very professional and considerate towards us and all their customers, and the dojang itself has a light-hearted, welcoming air to it. My experience there has always been the best, and I am so happy that I joined! read more

Both of my children go to MightyFist and are on their way to black belt. They expect to work hard and to attend their classes regularly. My children receive fair feedback from their instructors on how they need to improve to pass their belt and fitness tests. We don't expect their belts to be handed to them but that they should be earned. The atmosphere is fun, productive and efficient. We have been given fair expectations of the time and investment this will take for our children to earn their black belts. read more

My daughter has been attending mightyfist for over two years and just received her blue belt in taekwondo, I feel that I should voice my appreciation for Mr. Morris and the other instructors at the school. My husband and I feel extremely blessed and happy that we found this school which is right beside our apartment complex. Our daughter has learning difficulties and has struggled in many physical and academic activities, however Mr. Morris spent a lot of one on one time with her in class and encourages her when she is struggling. We do not pay any extra for the personal help. Even though we think that she will still need extra help in the future we know now that Mr Morris and the other instructors care a lot about the kids, and my daughter will succeed. read more

My daughter has been going to Mightyfist for several years, and she thoroughly enjoys the classes. At first she's concerned that she might be too old (at age of 11) as she didn't start as a little kid, but Mightyfist put her at ease at no time. Mrs. Morris patiently explains every step so students get the right pose (I think this is extremely important) while Mr. Morris encourages students to challenge themselves with his smiling face. read more

I recently had the opportunity to try out a taekwondo class and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, I was met with an unwelcoming and uninviting environment. The instruction was lacking and it felt like the instructor didn't have much interest in teaching us. Instead, they were only wating to show of their skills. The class it-self was disorganized and didn't flow well, making it difficult to follow along. I would not recommend this taekwondo class to anyone looking for a positive martial arts experience. It's not worth checking out. This place is not good at all. When you're injured, they force you to keep going unless you have a cast. Like if you say you have a headache, they don't believe you. It's a total scam. They take so much money for blackbelt testing and then fail your kid.And each class has soo many students. How will one person learn properly? I am telling you. This place is a scam. read more

Mightyfist Taekwon-Do has undeniably impacted the lives of students for the better. Not only does the dojang hold students to high standards in the more obvious aspects of Taekwon-Do (such as self-defense, patterns/forms, sparring, breaking), but it also instills the values of perseverance, diligence, and respect within each and every one of us. This less tangible but perhaps more important aspect is evident in the oath we take each and every class: "Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit..." This is without even mentioning the teacher himself; Master Morris is the type of teacher every student dreams of having--one who is charismatic while strict, humorous yet absolutely serious about his art. If you are looking for a place to study the martial arts, look no further. read more

My child had been there for many years, and just finished the program. Finally I can say something about this place. I don't recommend this place because of the following reasons. First of all, they have a special low rate first month try out to attract new students. If you feel happy(most likely you will because they treat new students and new parents very nice) you can join the program by paying monthly or pay once for thousands of dollars to get to the black belt which they called black belt program. The awful thing is you must sign a contract if you decide to join the BBP which means they won't give you any refund if you change your mind after paying thousands of dollars! Secondly, the students to coach ratio is getting higher and higher. Sometimes the dojang is full of students like more than 50. Kids don't even have enough rooms to do the patterns. Third, they use more and more assistance and volunteers to teach the class. Two, three years ago, Mr. Morris(the owner) taught every class. Now most of the time he uses higher rank students to teach lower rank student. By the way, one of the requirement to test red belt and above is volunteering ten classes. Kids have to volunteer ten classes in order to be eligible to have the test.. You can always see those higher rank students volunteer at the lower rank classes. Talking about the test, they are adding more requirements. One of them is you have to attend at least one seminar or one competition within a year which means you need to keep paying him money after you already paid thousand of dollars for the program. This is just an example, there is lot of other ways he will ask you to pay money. Fourth, there are lots of days the dojang are closed. Besides every holiday, they even closed on school breaks like spring break and middle year break. When your child doesn't have school and homework, and s/he is ready to go to Taekwondo, you'll very disappointed to find out the dojang is closed! Lastly, the parking lot is very very crowded. It's very hard to find a parking space especially around 5 or 6pm. Parents have to drop off or pick up their students in the middle of the road. Kids are running around the parking lot, and I saw couple of accidents during the years. Please think twice before you send your child to this place. One more thing to mention is if you have to deal with some front desk lady, you'll find out they don't learn how to smile especially to the existing students and parents. read more

One of the most horrible classes I had signed up my kid to. Its a monopoly, every family member is an instructor there - Mr.Morris, Mrs.Morris, their daughter, Mr.Morris's mom etc. There is absolutely no respect for parents. They think they are doing us a favor to have a kid in their class. My son was due for a test and they did not bother to send him the test sheet and we so we missed test deadlines several times. This way they keep the child in the same color belt for a long time ( in my case more than a year to move from blue stripe to blue belt) and we paid the monthly fee for absolutely no improvement for more than a year for no progress in belt level. Once my son was at the test at the correct time and date. The instructors did not call his name because of their error in student sheet and my son came back home crying saying that he was not allowed to test because he was late for the test. I confronted the Morris family and they said they will check the camera footage to confirm this. They realized after checking the footage that it was their fault and re-tested him on a free Sunday afternoon. If this is the way a school is run, I am sorry to say, this is DEFINITELY BAD QUALITY Taekwondo class. I pulled out my kid from this class as I was frustrated with the way this school is run. Wish there was a negative marking available on yelp. I would give this class a minus 10. read more

Mightyfist is a great alternative to a supervised daycare for your children, but do NOT be fooled - this dojo will teach you absolutely nothing in regards to self defense. I joined this "academy" as a naive eleven year old looking for respite from the bullying I had to deal with at school. With no real standard as to what constituted a real self defense program at the time my mother and I were coaxed into purchasing the "black belt program" - a non refundable payment of around 2000 dollers which would cover all the costs pertaining to training, uniforms , etc until I obtained my black belt. Interesting to note was the change in demeanor from the instructors when I was officially part of the program, the compliments and over-inflated reassurances of me having the makings of a "talented fighter" (along with other manipulative and disgusting business tactics) diminished overnight. It took me nearly two years, one blue belt, and several ass kickings ( here's a hint, it was my ass) to realize that the entire mightyfist program is a farce and useless beyond the class environment. To make matters worse I was one of the better students in the class - usually having high marks on the "exams" which tested your technical ability and determined if you were eligible to move up a rank. I had even won a trophy for having the highest score on one of my exams- further cementing the fact that the problem didnt lie with me but rather the useless and ineffective techniques/ideologies taught in class. It wasn't until later in life when I joined a real MMA gym (which is home to several famous UFC fighters) that I realized just how ridiculous and frivolous Mightyfist was. The difference was night and day. I learned how to punch and box effectively instead of memorizing useless patterns involving the use of strange hand motions and jumping from place to place (if there is any doubt please visit their studio and see It for yourself) , techniques to actually wrestle and grapple with my opponents rather than attempt some fancy yet useless arm grab which works only when there is zero resistance - and perhaps the most important - the fundamentals of conditioning and strength training which allows students to effectively perform the techniques in the real world, a world which people CAN and WILL use all their might to hurt you. For the sake of (or lack of at this point) brevity I am going to condense this for anybody interested in signing themselves or their loved ones for a self defense program. PLEASE stay far far away from this mcdojo, you or your children may end up getting seriously injured confronting an aggressor with a false sense of bravado which Morris and his assistants will instill - all for the sake of your money (conveniently non refundable). There is no secret shortcut or magical kick that will allow an individual to become a proficient fighter. This world can be extremely cruel and unforgiving; better to go to a real fighting academy which pushes one's comfort zone through sweat and temporary discomfort than having you or your loved ones seriously injured or even killed. read more

Great place for my kids! My two children just took there first belt test here and they are just so excited to return to class. I have seen a huge difference in my older daughters confidence and she just loves to get her uniform on and go to train. We tried some other studios in the area for some trials and Mighty Fist is by far the best. The staff are always happy to see us and Mr Morris is an excellent motivator and teacher. I was recommended by a friend and I am so glad that we did. We did the trial program first, but within a few weeks we knew that this was a good move from the previous place. read more

Parents, be sure before you sign up a contract. I signed up for a two year contract for my son for Black belt 2nd degree. My son couldn't continue going for classes beyond 3 months, but I ended up paying for all 2 years. Tried following up if there is a way to break the contract with penalty. But no bail, once you sign contract there is no way out :-( read more

I started here pretty much the second or third month the school opened. I have to say, I will never change schools or styles. The style is essentially taught straight out of the Tae Kwon Do encyclopedia, as we refer to it often for small technical inquiries. Students watch videos of world champions for motivation to get better. It is a very traditional based studio. But just because it's traditional, doesn't mean it's boring! Mr. Morris (head instructor and owner) is probably one of the best Martial Arts instructors I've had in my 13 years of Martial Arts experience. He's very knowledgeable when it comes to the techniques and curriculum. He tries to ensure that each student, no matter how average or talented, gets a fair share of his individual time. He is also great with kids (for those thinking about enrolling your son or daughter in Martial Arts). He not only teaches them proper Tae Kwon Do, but also help the child build self-confidence and discipline. He really helps the children grow to become great adults later on in life. He makes sure that the kids enjoy each and every class. The school is always packed because everyone just loves his teaching style and his classes. For those that are serious about developing skill, he has an eye for picking out very technical flaws so you will be able to improve quickly. He, and all the instructors, are always open to answer any question you may have and are very passionate about helping practioners achieve their goals, small or large. A great place to learn Tae Kwon Do and life skills. This is NOT a McDojo, go somewhere else to supersize your belt rank for 35 cents. You aren't going to be able to buy your blackbelt here, but you will be able to earn it. The price is very affordable and MUCH cheaper than other competitors. The quality of training is very much worth the price! read more

I have been training Taekwon Do for 27 years. From the moment I walked into this dojang I was impressed by the Instructors. Mr. & Mrs. Morris have created a great place to train. Our 8-year old son has been going to MightyFist for the last three years and we are very happy with the confidence and a sense of accomplishment that he has gained from learning Tae-kwon-do. I've been training at Mightyfist for approximately 8 years now, and I can say with complete honesty that joining and continuing at the dojang have been some of the best decisions I've made. Master Morris and the other instructors truly love and enjoy what they do, and that reflects in classes, as he is one of the best teachers I've had - he can really engage students and make class fun. Not only is this a great place to gain technical skills as it relates to taekwon-do as a martial art, but you also learn basic skills like courtesy and hard work and communication that translate to almost all other aspects of life Most importantly, what I found in the dojang was a place that I know I can always count on - having recently left for college, the time I spent at Mightyfist is one of the things I miss most, but it is also extremely assuring to know that I can (and will) always go back. I would definitely encourage anyone looking to learn a martial art to attend this school! read more

I have trained at Mightfyfist Taekwon-Do from 6th to 12th grade, and I have had an amazing experience here. The instructors are genuinely invested in their students and do their best to see them improve and succeed. Through Taekwon-Do, I have developed, both physically and mentally, to become stronger and to feel more confident and empowered. Looking back and seeing my personal growth through my involvement here, I feel incredibly grateful for the time that I have spent and for the people that make this place so great. The instructors here are committed to developing not only athletes, but also more self-aware and determined students who will exceed not only in Taekwon-Do, but in all other aspects of their life through helping them to develop skills such as a strong work ethic, communication, and respect. It is a wonderful and welcoming environment for all of any skill level. I would highly recommend this dojang to everyone. read more
