My son has been learning Kung Fu with Master Zhao for almost 3 years now including taking classes with him at a previous San Jose Kung Fu School. Master Zhao is a kind and passionate teacher and he really puts his mind and heart into teaching. Every class he makes sure that my son is moving along and he gives lots of encouragement and praise as my son sometimes lacks confidence. My son can now do full middle split, stand-up bridge, single-handed cartwheel, and kick-up. So cool! He basically achieved all this only through training in class and zero practice at home (not that I encourage it, but it is just the way kids are nowadays...). He loves going to Kung Fu and his confidence has improved a lot, thanks to Master Zhao. I highly recommend this place to kids and adults who want to learn some real Kung Fu!

I got into martial arts in 2023. Overweight, insecure, and misdirected. I was looking for a way to…read moreget in shape and continue grappling sports but what I came across went way beyond fitness. Wildcat offers MMA, Muay Thai, boxing, and BJJ, and the level of coaching is elite. However, what truly separates Wildcat from other gyms (at least in my opinion) is the people. It's not just that the coaches are high level fighters and technicians that are honest people who care about your growth - everyone here is like family. Coach Alex in particular has had a huge impact on me. His guidance helped me build discipline, confidence and direction. As well as how to apply those lessons to life. He pushes you when you need it, not want it. He'll support you if you're struggling, and genuinely wants the best for you. Coach Murph has always looked out for me, helping me fine tune my technique and pushing me to level up. Having Coach Murph in your corner makes all the difference. I've been in martial arts 3 years and have tried a few places before finding my home with Alex and Wildcat. I can say with confidence that you want to be here - whether you're brand new, experienced, or trying to compete, everyone is treated with respect and encouraged to grow at their own pace. If youre seeking somewhere to train, improve yourself, and be surrounded by positive, driven people. You've found it. Joining Wildcat was the best decision I've ever made.

Whether you're looking to fight competitively, lose weight, or just get in the best shape of your life, the discipline in this gym will get you there. The facility is top-notch--always clean, with a great variety of bags and strength equipment that isn't worn out. Having a sauna for members is a massive bonus for recovery after a tough session. The people are incredibly friendly and there's a genuine family vibe that makes you want to show up every day. Highly recommend it to anyone serious about learning the craft!

Under their guidance and mentoring, I feel that even as an adult I am growing stronger in mind, body, and spirit. SKA practice emphasizes the development of a strong mentality: polishing of techniques through extensive and exhaustive repetition, committing to one's attack, defense, and counterattack without flinching or bailing, and breaking through one's natural tendency to rest or give up in the face of fatigue or adversity. SKA practice at Saratoga is included with a current Southwest YMCA membership and a single annual SKA fee. Unlike some other martial arts organizations, SKA is a nonprofit organization that does not charge any fees for gradings or require members to purchase SKA-branded equipment. For anyone looking to strengthen their whole self and learn a martial art, I wholeheartedly recommend looking into practice with SKA.

My experience with their kids' program has been nothing short of exceptional, hats off to the incredible instructor, Travis! From day one, it was evident that Travis was not only highly skilled in Krav Maga but also knew the knack of teaching and working with children. Whether a child was struggling with a technique or excelling at it, Travis was present very watchfully, providing guidance, support, and positive reinforcement. One of the things that stood out to me the most was Travis's ability to create a supportive and encouraging environment for the kids. Moreover, he has a unique talent for breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making it accessible and observable for children of all skill levels. What stood out to me in particular was his own values, principles and attitude which in my opinion are of paramount importance especially while teaching life skills to others. Beyond his technical expertise, Travis also instilled important values such as team work, discipline, respect, and self-confidence in the children. Through his teaching, my child not only gained valuable self-defense skills but also developed a sense of empowerment and self-assurance that extends beyond the mat. Beth, who is also an instructor and helps with the front desk, is extremely patient and helpful with any questions and a great teacher herself from the classes I've observed! If you're considering enrolling your child in Krav Maga classes, look no further than Krav Zone!

I do agree that it's good to warm up before starting classes but I feel that there might be too much time running back-and-forth. Occasionally it feels like a way to keep us busy while they are speaking to other people. We've had a couple classes with Beth, she is very nice and patient with the little ones. Travis was our main coach for a few months and I can tell the older kids work better with him. They only have beginner and advanced classes. It would be nice to have an intermediate class as well. I think in general more classes would be helpful as you cannot graduate to certain belts unless you are taking two classes a week. We signed up for a year and will plan to continue for as long as possible. I do recommend this place. * updated to add that now that school has started, they just brought in another trainer (Shlomi) to teach the older kids since the class size has doubled. He is very good at teaching new techniques properly. I feel that he is the best match for my yellow belt 8 year old.
