We love this hotel for the location, ambience, complementary parking, but most of all the friendly staff. They treat you so well from check-in to check-out. Especially Miss Alisia at the breakfast check-in, she is such a bright face in the morning and a great person to chat with. The breakfast is a great place to start your day, and the rooftop is a great place to end it. It is easy enough to head to Forest Park for the day and get some Ted Drewes before dinner at the Moonrise. The rooms and beds are quiet and comfortable, even when they host events on the rooftop on the weekend. We can't wait to come back next summer!

We wrapped up our informal wander through the fabulous Delmar Loop and drifted up here for a final drink, a skyline check and that signature rotating oversized Moon glowing over the building. By pure luck, it was a full moon over Saint Louis too which felt a little on the nose in the best possible way. The rooftop is solid, a clear arc of the city that makes you slow down to appreciate the view. The space itself is exactly what you want at the end of the night. Open, relaxed and elevated enough to feel like a finale without trying too hard. The music was much louder than I'd prefer and not an artist I'd ever queue up for a mellow nightcap and it did sort of get in the way of the vibe. The kitchen had already closed, which killed the idea of a final nibble with our round of drinks. The bartender did offer the workaround of having DoorDash delivered to the bar but we weren't going to hang around that long. The Old Fashioned he put together was excellent, balanced and smooth. Just what I needed as my Fitbit clocked over 10k steps. As a final stop on a Loop night, the Moonrise works beautifully. You get the view of downtown Saint Louis in the distance, the atmosphere, the giant Moon doing its thing and a comfortable landing spot before calling it a night. Huge snack pantry for purchase with a variety of items. The room provided breakfast in the main lobby. Celiacs have the choice of Hard Boiled Egg, Fruit and Cheerios. The warm food items are all baked in a huge oven so cross contamination is eminent. The chef did say they have a separate toaster in the kitchen for Gluten Free items provided by the guest to toast. As for the room, incredibly clean, stocked and even had a small Swan Towel in the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, fluffy pillows and was clean. 5 Star for the STAY & Quality 2 STARS for the Celiac Food Options- (Hotel Mgmt- add prepackaged GF items) Overall, highly recommended the hotel, but for my Celiacs- not recommended for breakfast meal but a quick bite of fruit and java! There is a $10/night fee for self/ parking, which is a bit odd. There are spaces right outside the hotel or in lot just behind it. I will say that I was unaware of the fee for parking (I just happened to hear someone at the front desk telling a guest about it). I always check-in through the app, so I often don't come in contact with the front desk staff. Once I overheard that conversation, I called the front desk from my room and the parking fee was confirmed. I had to give them a description of my vehicle and I the state of registration. Makes me wonder if I would have been ticketed or towed if I didn't learn of the parking situation. There should be signs or a note in the app notifying guests about your parking. That is my only complaint. Rooms were fine, the free breakfast was standard for a Hampton Inn. Worth noting: there was no closet in my room. I found this to be very odd. There was a full length mirror bolted over what appeared to have once been a closet. Luckily I didn't need to hang any clothes, but that was really odd to me.

Having stayed here several times over the years, I've consistently found it to embody the high-end service and quality you'd expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand. The Lobby Lounge is an excellent place to unwind. There's plenty of comfortable seating, a sushi bar that adds to the experience, and an atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. Even though the lobby was bustling, it somehow still felt secluded and relaxing. One of the things I appreciated most was being able to enjoy a conversation without having to compete with loud music or excessive noise. Service was exceptional from start to finish. We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of bubbles along with a bourbon, and everything was presented flawlessly.

It was super confusing but fortunately my colleague had texted she found the entrance to bail me out. The lot is a tiny bit of a haul from the room, and insanely priced. I think it was $44 a night for an area that quite frankly had very little going on. As far as the room goes, the A/C was doing it's best, struggling a bit during a heat wave and I woke up hot a few times. My room sort of had a throwback feel to it, a bit dark and dated. The fitness area is nice and I enjoyed stretching my legs on the treadmill after my drive, and a lift the following morning. Tons of bottled water in there if you need it. I did like the Grand Hall and enjoyed working in there for a bit, it's a beautiful space near check in. Another plus was the Starbucks inside so we could get some coffee right after waking up. My black coffee was good the first day, and my "nitro cold brew" was flat and somehow syrupy on day two, so skip that one. A bit of a labyrinth overall, and not my favorite hotel, but would probably stay here again on a work trip for the proximity and convenience for what I need!

Owners Mark and Leslie are very kind, attentive, and share a lot of history of the mansion and recommendations without being obtrusive. There are complimentary snacks coffee and tea available 24/7. Location is great. The place has a bit of a dated feel and there are some repairs/upgrades needed here and there but keep in mind Dear Traveler: this couple has only owned the place for 15 months so I'm confident minor facelifts are coming. Only VERY minor complaint, and it's only from personal taste: food although delicious is a bit carb-heavy. This is no fault of the owners and they give you plenty of opportunity prior to your stay to mention any diet preferences, which I failed to do. So no knock on FdL at all. If in St. Louis visiting or need a nice staycation check this place out!! FYI they do a great job with COVID compliance, too

The Fleur-de-Lys is the epitome of a luxurious getaway. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
