This is a fantastic hotel in a perfect location at a great price. I was in town for a quick trip to catch a show at The Pageant which is literally steps away (next door) from this hotel. The Moonrise is also conveniently on the Loop itself, so I was able to do a lot of exploration (shopping, food, drinks) of the city before my show. My room itself was spacious and clean. Extra touches--like a noise machine, blackout curtains, real coffee cups, and a phenomenal shower really sealed the deal. Plus you have a rooftop bar and a restaurant on site. I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel has a neat aesthetic from the moment you walk in to the moment you get in your room. The theme of the hotel is space/lunar theme (duh it's called Moonrise) and it fits it. The hotel was very clean upon arrival, and the room was as well. Staff have all been friendly and helpful as needed. Free parking in the back of the hotel was a huge plus with the offering of valet if you would like it. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar attached which is what I always like on business trips when I'm feeling lazy. So far 5/5 from me

We went to the rooftop for a friend's birthday celebration and I think we found a new favorite! The VIEW at sunset was spectacular! Comfy lounge areas and that view and the drinks/food were wonderful! My favorite was the fried pickles and my espresso martini! Yum-o! Ambiance was perfect! Lovely Spot and we will be back for a date night for sure!

In all the time I've lived in St. Louis, I haven't been to the moonrise hotel. For this event, I enjoyed their tasty sliders and their cocktails. The event had a signature beverage and it did not disappoint. It was nice to have the option to sit on the patio or inside and still be served. The bartenders were kind and the servers were nice. The waitstaff kept the dining station clean and filled. I can appreciate when the waitstaff and kitchen and communicating because I was well-informed when my fave app was dwindling down with no plans to return. Thank you Yelp for inviting me to a nice summer night experience

This place is located on Delmar Blvd on the North side. Free parking in the back. They do have valet if you want it but it is not necessary. The hotel is dog friendly still very nice decor and reasonable prices. It is about 1 mile from Wash U so that is very convenient. There is a minifridge and coffee maker in room. The shower is rainfall (see photo). The people are very friendly and helpful. Another great thing is checkout is 12noon. Those extra couple hours come in handy. Overall great convenient place to stay.

Hopping happy hour on the eighth floor of the moonrise. Great weather, DJ, and small bites menu. Very loud!

There's a reason Wash U doesn't recommend this hotel. BEWARE they are horrid. I made a reservation 3 months ago for Wash U graduation. I have 2 emails confirming my reservation. When I called the morning of check in to see if we could check in early, the person at the desk said she didn't have our reservation even though I was looking at the email. She then proceeded to hang up on us twice when we pleaded with her to rectify it because we had no where to stay. Then she wouldn't answer the phone. I went into the Moonrise in the afternoon and spoke to the worst person the "supervisor" who yelled at me in the lobby and rolled his eyes when I tried to show him my reservation. He called Andre the manager and none of them would even acknowledge my confirmation email. I couldn't believe the way they were treating me. Then the "supervisor" the rudest man I've ever encountered in my life told me that Andre, the manager said I'm "no longer welcome on the property and they were bringing security down to "escort me out"" He REFUSED to even look at or acknowledge my confirmation email. I can't stress enough how horrible this experience and this hotel is. I have never, ever been treated like that as a customer in my life. They should be shut down. Again, there's a reason Wash U doesn't recommend them even though they're right on campus. And I believe that it's run by a Wash U alum. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. You're toxic people. Here's a pic of the reservation you lost if you'd like to look now.

Came here for a nightcap and snack and to enjoy the rooftop vibes. Parking was free and located in the back of the hotel (yay) front desk directed us to the 8th floor and it was everything I envisioned. Music, views and pretty drinks. Looking in the QR code They have pics of the drinks and I thought that was a def plus, it helps knowing what you're ordering and the size to debate on pricing choices. I loved it . They have a small but good selection of menu items but it is pricey. I ordered the Moon flower for the drink and pretzels and cheese. I must say food came out piping hot and fresh. My drink was yummy as well but my only complaint is there were Four workers back there but only 2 seemed to be working, the third worker seemed to only be catering to patrons who were sitting there in a group and I'm guessing they were tipping great , she only had tunnel vision for that group and the fourth one was just standing there like a mannequin. Rooftop vibes were awesome. Plenty of seating and music . Colorful, panoramic views . Skyline was perfection.

Came here for a rooftop event and this was a pretty good spot! Never been before but really enjoy myself! The bar tenders were amazing and the views were amazing. Will definitely be back to enjoy it again!

The cutest drain stopper.

There is a $10/night fee for self/ parking, which is a bit odd. There are spaces right outside the hotel or in lot just behind it. I will say that I was unaware of the fee for parking (I just happened to hear someone at the front desk telling a guest about it). I always check-in through the app, so I often don't come in contact with the front desk staff. Once I overheard that conversation, I called the front desk from my room and the parking fee was confirmed. I had to give them a description of my vehicle and I the state of registration. Makes me wonder if I would have been ticketed or towed if I didn't learn of the parking situation. There should be signs or a note in the app notifying guests about your parking. That is my only complaint. Rooms were fine, the free breakfast was standard for a Hampton Inn. Worth noting: there was no closet in my room. I found this to be very odd. There was a full length mirror bolted over what appeared to have once been a closet. Luckily I didn't need to hang any clothes, but that was really odd to me.

FIVE STARS go out to all the staff, who went out of their way to ensure we had the best visit possible. Special thanks to Malissa at the front desk who checked us in and always greeted us warmly with a smile and asked about our day; she was so friendly and made us feel so welcome! Thanks also to Josh Garrett, who answered our questions about the area; Jay, who took care of the laundry and made sure all the common areas were fresh and tidy; and all the ladies in the breakfast room! They started our morning out on a high note with the sunshine they carried with them. The breakfasts were always tasty and filling every morning, and we really appreciate breakfast on-site that was included in our stay! It was so convenient to have our first meal there before we ventured out into the city each day. Having hot items as well as the usual fruits, pastries, waffles and cereal was very nice. We also appreciated having the coffee and tea bar open 24 hours a day. The rooms are fairly well-insulated. We heard minimal noise in the hallways and none from outside the hotel, despite the proximity of I-64 (just one block away). The location of the Hampton is ideal for those visiting Forest Park and its environs. The Park is just 5 minutes away by car, and the Science Center is just down the street. St Louis Community College is across the street, so the area is generally quiet. There are restaurants and gas stations about a half-mile away, and grocery stores are 10 minutes away by car. Downtown is 10 -15 minutes away, depending on traffic. The few less-than-stellar items we encountered were the mattresses, which were somewhat lumpy; the bed and bath linens, which were somewhat worn; and our room wall thermostat, which seemed incapable of keeping a steady temperature. These would be fairly easy issues to address and bring the hotel's rating to a solid 5 stars for me. Overall, many thanks to the Hampton Inn at Forest Park for a lovely stay in Saint Louis!

The cost savings from not having to dine out for breakfast and dinner every day really adds up. Parents with kids love it. Be prepared, though: This location is very popular with families, especially during school breaks and major travel periods. Expect lots of children and a busy atmosphere (primarily during meal times and in the pool). The hotel is well-managed, clean, and inviting, with a beautiful interior and exterior. Total Transparency: I did not think this was going to be what it was…read more I'd like to say that I'm pretty well traveled. And some of my travels have taken me thru the St Louis area a time or two. Besides being awestruck by some of the beautiful women there, nothing about Missouri in general really ever wowed me! So when my friends told me that our hotel was nice, I was like, "Okay. But how nice can it really be? I mean.. at the end of the day, we're in Missouri. It's the Show Me state, right? Then show me!" So we pull up to a structure that looks like an old train station. Makes sense, because as I found out, it previously was. So kudos to the engineer for breathing new life in to a beautiful, aged edifice. But I'd seen similar before so I wasn't necessarily blown back. Even to access the lobby was a bit tricky so... strike there. We get to the front desk and the staff is warm and inviting. Genuinely so. Points there! You can pay people to be nice but that only lasts so long. When that's just the way you are, that's a different thing altogether! And these people were the real deal! My friends kept talking about walking around and mini golf. It was already getting cold and I don't like the cold so I'm already turned off, but I always like to at least give serendipity a chance so I told my friends I'd go with. Lo and behold, everyone takes a longer than intended nap and I can't sleep, so I decide to go wander by myself. I started by trying to find this mini-golf that's supposed to be connected to the hotel somehow. So I see the sign and I follow it. It takes me though an atrium of some kind where it turns from enclosed environment to a domed, open air feel. Ok. That's cool. Cold, actually but I'm up for an adventure. So I follow the walk way around an ok looking pool, but it was closed because it was cold, and then it happens. I step out on to a boardwalk. The ground literally transformed beneath my feet. In front of me was a lake, with Lily pads (which I later found out held the torches for the pyrotechnics show a little later on), a couple of eateries and not just a mini golf course but an amusement park. I'd never been so amazed in my life. I was completely blown away. Inside this repurposed train station, they created a Shangri-La for the weary Midwest traveller. I gotta say... it was one of the most unexpected things that I've had happen to me in a while. So if you're ever driving through downtown St Louis... just up the street from the Arch... be sure to wander around the St Louis Union Station. And who knows... maybe stay a night or two. It's definitely worth trying at least once.

Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!

Not sure if that's just their hospitality or because I looked such a hot mess that they felt sympathy for me, but I appreciated their gentile ways. Every time I went to ask them for help, they were gracious, patient, and knowledgeable. In all, the stay here was a great experience for the week I was in town.
