I LOVE my ring. And everyone else loves it too, they immediately say it's unique and one of a kind. I've been following the company for a long time- I was drawn to their sustainability and ethical values. The unique imperfections in the diamonds-- I fell in love instantly. My fiancé said they worked with him so well even from a distance and that it was really simple! The quality is amazing and I fall in love with it even more every day.

    Beautiful presentation

I have been stalking Midwinter's Instagram and website for a while. With the current situation, I decided to treat myself to something sparkly. I am so glad that I did. I don't live in Delaware so going to their studio wasn't a possibility but ordering online was so easy and I was always informed about my order's status. My ring being delivered was like Christmas. The packaging was pristine and it arrived as if I had picked it up directly from their studio and not had it shipped across the country. I am so in love with my Darley ring. It is so well made and absolutely gorgeous. My first Midwinter purchase definitely won't be the last.

Stalked this company for years until my fiance got my absolute dream ring from here (with maybe a little coaching from me). It is better than anything I could have ever imagine. I get compliments all the time and have recommended Midwinter to people looking for unique engagement rings. I will be getting my band from here as well and am so excited to complete the look!

I was totally obsessed with MidWinter Co. My husband ended up ordering my engagement ring from them and I was SO EXCITED. He had mentioned that they were pretty awful at communicating but whatever, I was so happy I didn't even care. Moving forward, I contacted them about 6 months later to make our wedding rings as I wanted them to match. They were incredibly difficult to get a hold of, but Samantha, the owner promised me I'd have my rings in time. They ended up getting to my door literally the day before we left for our out of state wedding. They were NOT from midwinter co. They had been sent to us in little plastic bags with "inspected by # 341" on them. They were not distressed and oxidized as promised. They were normal boring rings from some mass produced company, not the "small business" that I thought I'd bought from. They never touched my rings, but gladly charged us thousands of dollars for FAKE CUSTOM RINGS that were crappy imports. About a month ago, I noticed my wedding band had "ovaled" which is exactly what it sounds like. I took it to my local jeweler to just take a look and tell me their thoughts. They start to clean it (totally normal care) and the stones (diamonds) just FELL out. There's nothing to reattach them to because they were just sitting in there. The metal used is inferior and terrible. My precious wedding ring is now garbage. I reached out to MidWinter even though we hadn't had the best experience and they told me I voided my warranty by having it cleaned and then blocked my emails. I spent a total of $4000 with this "small company" that cares so much to be treated like trash. Now I'm out my damn WEDDING RING and they literally don't care. They've been smart enough to get out of anyone posting unfavorable reviews by conducting online business OUTSIDE of Etsy (originally) and they ONLY allow reviews on their website that have been approved by them. They block anyone from all social media that speaks the truth. I thought i was buying from a Christian based "family" small business. This is a LIE - they are importers and extortioners. Do not buy from these crooks. UPDATE: the owner is admitting below that she can't keep track of all of her issues with her business, so therefore, she's mistaken me with someone else that she's had to replace faulty product for. Seems like a trend. I have emails too, many of them, not so nice as well. I have emails where I pay for a custom product and the owner forgets to make it, and then forces me into a subpar product that she never touched in order for me to even have ring on my wedding day. Update 2: I'll no longer be updating my comments as I have decided to operate in the truth and not her lies. My engagement ring alone was over $2k (I could easily provide proof, but she knows this) and my 2nd order was around $1k, but hey, she's only coming on here to call me a liar (oh wait, isn't that defamation like YOU claim since I have the receipts?!) but the truth speaks for itself. This is how you will be treated if you purchase a ring from this company. You will be told that YOU are wrong and bad, not that they messed up. And that you ONLY gave her $2500 (actually more) of your hard earned money! Such outstanding customer service! Sounds like an amazing company to invest your money in for your special day right?!? Exactly.... I haven't altered my original review at all, she continues to do so once an hour. You tell me folks, who is the liar here? QUESTION: why did one ring oval and not the other? They are worn together daily on the same finger. You made one, you did NOT make the other... hmmm. Side note: I STARTED THIS YELP PAGE, I put in the info! there was none until my review, Yelp doesn't allow businesses to delete and alter content, so that's why I created this one. Also, pretty ironic that all of these sudden 5 star reviews are people with NEW YELP accounts that live nearby these people. Nice try! But it's ok, because Yelp is smart enough to flag the fakes! Side note 2: please do view the response on my IG from the owners husband literally LAUGHING at what's happened to me and my wedding ring. Yep, what a GREAT CHRISTIAN company.

    Sapphire ring!

My fiancé and I are so so in love with my custom engagement ring from Midwinter. We picked out the stone together but otherwise, I was completely in the dark and had no idea what to expect ordering a custom ring. My fiancé was so happy with Midwinter's communication and customer service. Since he proposed, I can't stop staring at my ring. The stone is truly unlike any I've seen before and is perfectly set. We highly recommend them :)

My partner and I ordered a custom engagement from Midwinter this year and we couldn't be more happy with that decision. Because I am very picky with my tastes, my partner and I decided that it would make the most sense for me to pick out my own ring. I decided that I wanted a very specific ring that I couldn't find at any jewelers- it only lived in my head. This was when we decided to customize the perfect ring. The only problem there is that my partner and I are both totally clueless when it comes to picking out jewelry- let alone ordering a custom made piece. After TONS of research online and comparing different jewelers against one another, I finally decided that I wanted to work with MidWinter to create my dream engagement ring. What sold me on MidWinter is the fact that they are a small business who specializes in bespoke designs and ethically sourced stones. Furthermore, I feel that it is more important than ever to be intentional with the businesses that we support and I felt really good about working with a small, family owned company as opposed to one of the big, national box chains who pump out thousands of the same rings every day. Something else that I think is really special about MidWinter is the fact that they give back. 10% of their profits each year are donated to charity. I mean come on- talk about feeling good where you put your money! MidWinter's designs are all incredibly beautiful. Each ring tells a story and is unique to the next. These are not the everyday rings that you'll find at a Zales or Kay jewelers- these rings tell a story. After making the decision to work with MidWinter came the fun part- actually building my dream ring!! I reached out via email and heard back from Barb, the customer service representative within an hour. I couldn't believe how incredibly sweet and responsive Barb was. Like I said, this was my first time ever looking for jewelry so this was an intimidating process, but Barb went above and beyond. She held my hand *virtually* through the entire process. She allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted without ever making me feel pressured. She made suggestions and helped direct us as we ventured into totally new territory. I've seen a few of the other reviews raving about Barb and I wholeheartedly agree. I seriously can't say enough about her. I should also add that I live in Oregon... Far away from MidWinter who is all the way across the country in Delaware. Not being able to work face to face with a jeweler and try on rings in person made this process significantly more difficult. However, MidWinter rose to the challenge and truly made me feel like I was there all along. Because my ring was custom, that meant that we got to work directly with the designer to mock up a CAD digital rendering of the ring prior to it being casted in metal. I was able to be as nitpicky as I wanted and got every little detail PERFECT. Being able to be part of this process so intimately really made me feel confident and assured that this was exactly the right decision. Finally, once the ring shipped, it arrived in a beautiful velvet box. The ring was clearly cared for beautifully before it arrived to me. It's even more beautiful in person. I've been wearing it every day since we got engaged and it's absolutely perfect. I took it to get resized locally (although MidWinter does offer a free resize!) because I couldn't bare to be without it for more than a few hours! I get complimented on how beautiful it is DAILY. I can't wait to find my perfect wedding band to accompany my engagement ring sometime in the near future. Thank you so, so much MidWinter for helping me craft my dream ring. I cannot express enough just how lovely it was to work with your team. I would (and do!) recommend MidWinter to anyone who is looking for their perfect engagement ring.

My fiancé knows I have been absolutely in love with this brand since I saw them on Instagram over a year ago. He began emailing with them and worked with the team to create my absolute dream. They sent him a variety of diamonds, searched, and worked with him until they found the perfect diamond. I am so beyond in love with my gorgeous ring. I cannot thank this company enough. They made my dreams come true and my fiancé says they were incredibly to work with! Very hands on, professional, kind, and amazing.

I am beyond thrilled with my engagement ring!! My fiancé and I worked with midwinter co. to pick this ring out together. They were extremely helpful, professional, and very polite throughout the whole process! We went to their store in Wilmington and felt no pressure to choose anything that day, but they were very attentive and took notes the whole time to help me design a ring I loved! They didn't mind my barrage of emails after the consultation with questions when finalizing the design. I've gotten so many compliments on my ring from friends and family!! The perfect experience. I can't wait to get my wedding band from here! Thank you!!!

    An opalescent sapphire engagement ring.

As a bride-to-be that's teetering on non-traditional, I knew I wanted an engagement ring to reflect that. This opalescent sapphire is THE ring for me. I am so happy I found Midwinter. Fantastic selection, communication (according to my fiancé), and work! Thank you guys!!

My fiancé worked with Midwinter to design a semi-custom engagement ring using their Imogene setting. The process was very smooth and they take extra care to make it easy (and comfortable) to buy online. The website is well designed with multiple photos and often a video of their loose stones. They have transparent pricing and are willing to work with you to get it just right. I just purchased a matching contour wedding band and am very happy with my set.

Had the best experience working on a custom ring with the Midwinter team! I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and fell in love with one of their unique loose sapphires. The whole design process was such a dream and I am thrilled with my ring! Recommend to anyone who wants something a little out of the "ordinary" for engagement rings.

My wedding band, a size 4.5.

Support your local jeweler - do not buy from Midwinter co. *prefacing with the fact that this story has a happy ending - we got a surprise email indicating a full refund, after emailing that we would get no refund whatsoever, because they decided to show us some "mercy" and now we never have to think about Midwinter again* In October 2020 my partner proposed to me with a ring he'd purchased online from Midwinter. I'd admired Midwinter's Instagram for years and was so excited. On February 2nd, the band broke under one of the small Diamond beds when I took the ring off my finger, less than 4 months later. After speaking with multiple local jewelers with decades of experience (we're based in Portland, ME) we learned that a ring doesn't break like that unless it's *made with inferior metals or *resized without properly heating it up. I spoke with Barb, Midwinters delightful customer care rep, who said that the ring they sent me was a size 7, that was what their paperwork said, and the reason it broke was because their nebula ring wasn't designed to be resized to my small size, 4.5. The problem is that they didn't send us a size 7 (see the photos below). At a size 5, the 7th small Diamond lines up with the gray Diamond (you can see this in their photos from 2018, 2019, and 2020 as well as my photo on the day we got engaged). At my size, 4.5, the 9th small Diamond lines up with the gray Diamond (shown in their photos on a ring sizer and with tweezers after we'd sent it back to them). I was shocked that this small business truly had no idea what size engagement ring they had sent to my partner. How does that happen? With a product they're selling for almost 2k? Was this from a casting house? Was it even made in Delaware? Do they know the sizes of any of their products? I was full of questions because this is highly unusual. Their website is packed with disclaimers and red flags for what will disqualify the warranty on the rings, including if they have to resize your ring before sending it. They call resizing a "customization". My local family jeweler made it clear that this is very strange.. to disqualify someone from a warranty because the size needs to change, a simple and extremely common request? Why is that? Are they not doing their re-sizing or re-casting themselves? The kicker is that before it even arrived in Maine, their paperwork suggested the ring had been re-sized, disqualifying us from a warranty before it even arrived in the mail. Wild. The fact the the nebula ring was not designed for every day wear and still advertised as an engagement ring, with it bending and changing shape if I made the bed, carried our groceries in, or I simply put my shirt on and the ring snagged was frustrating. To have it literally break after less than 4 months was reasonably unfathomable and probably more upsetting for our local jeweler knowing that we were having yet another issue with this ring from Midwinter (they actually encourage Caelen to give them a call. When Midwinters ownership calls us back, as we've requested, we're happy to share our jewelers contact info). However, the most upsetting and shocking experience we endured with this company was not the fact that they irresponsibly did not know the size of the ring they sent, or that they screened my partners/their clients calls when he had reasonable questions, or even when they stopped emailing their clients back - it was the belittling and gaslighting I experienced over the phone with midwinters co-owner Caelen Bird. As a woman, being gaslit by a man, being belittled because their ring broke and THEY were upset, insulting my local jeweler for advising and tacking the ring so it would stop bending, and showing me how little he actually cares for his customers was heart breaking. For me - but for all the other customers they've had who have had or could possibly have an issue in the future. Knowing that kind of horrifying treatment was a possibility for potential customers was truthfully enough for me to feel a review even necessary. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. I'm in the business of customer service and while it's a delight to have happy customers, to err is human and how we handle upset customers is a testament to the character of the business and to us as humans. I've never felt so degraded, gaslit, or belittled as a customer. My hope is that no other newly engaged or married couple goes through such an upsetting experience. Go to your local jeweler and always read the fine print.
