I hired them to installation of windows, sliding doors, back deck and balcony. That was January 25, 2022. The only thing I have received from MidWest home Improvement is my $17000.00 in cashed checks. Beware!! After you pay them the down payment this company absolutely will not return phone calls, Dallas Nix owner will not respond to emails and his cell phone voicemail is always full. It's a shame that I have to rate this company as a one star. It should be none. Dallas has refused to take our calls amd refund our money after he has lied to us about building a four seasons room since February. The build was ro be done at the end of April. Numerous excuses later of waiting for windows when we were told it could be done while the windows were ordered has resulted in NOTHING. It is September and we have been asking for a refund since June due to the lack of professionalism amd communication on his part. We gave this crook 20,000 for this build with no blueprints, no appointments to bring out any materials on time and of course no one answers the business phone and or his voicemail box is always full. We have already notified the homebuilders association to have them removed from attending any future home shows to prevent this crook from hurting other people. We have also spoke with an attorney who is ready to file charges against this company. We finally confronted the company at this year's Stock Show and not only was lied to agaik by another one of his supposed salesman but when he was told the Sheriff's office was contacted he then threatened us with slander charges. We have let all our friends in the community about this horrible company. DO NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO ENTER YOUR HOME. DO NOT VISIT THEM AT ANY HOME SHOWS. RUN! First, you get Roger, there salesman, who promises you the world and a job "done better than before" when it came to our flood repair in the basement. He kept asking "have you gotten the check" every few days. Once he got the approval from his bid to the insurance, he got a massive (60%) down payment. Then he was gone and to never hear from again. He promised if we let them keep the painting budget ($1600) and do the painting ourselves, then we don't have to come up with the $1k deductible. Well......after no word from ANYONE...finally our consistent calls, two months later the owner Dallas shows up to see the job. He hires all subcontractors to do the job. Not one employee from Midwest Home. Once the job is done, we pay then the rest of the claim! TO THE PENNY! Then....two months down the road, we get invoices and threats from multiple subs. DALLAS DIDNT PAY THEM but was quick to cash our checks. Well.....we are constantly texting, emailing, calling...and nothing. Crickets! Then we get a threat that a lien will be put on our house if the invoice isn't paid by Dallas. After months of no contact, we get an erroneous bill in the mail to pay Dallas MORE!! ARE YOU KIDDING! Not only did we sacrifice the $1550 budget for painting, we sacrificed the $1450 budget for the window replacement. And Dallas received all that $$$ in his pocket for work he never did! The invoice has NO DETAILS as to where he got his numbers and says we also owe him for caulking the trim. Seriously? Trim is suppossed to be caulked to the wall. Not to mention, that's how it was done before the flood. Well, instead of reaching out and getting back to us, he sends this bill with no words or explanation. And ironically, the bill is really close to the amount of the sub that is threatening to put a lean on our home. So Dallas robbed Peter to pay Paul. And now, the money is gone with certain subs not paid. And the funny thing is, if I go to court (which we will if he doesn't respond and go line by line over the entire claim) he will end up having to pay us a refund, along with the subs invoices that haven't been paid. I'm willing to let it all go and let him keep all the $ of the work he DIDNT do on the claim, if he would just pay the dang contractors. Instead, he billed us for more money because he spent it elsewhere. And till this day.....no call, text, or email from ANYONE With Midwest Home. NO DOUBT those positive reviews are from friends, coworkers and employees that he asked to write a review. They are bogus. RUN!! Don't hire them! In fact, hire his son.
