I was treated great when I had my colonoscopy today. I was well informed on all aspects of the procedure and felt relaxed and stress free. They were concerned about my concerns and put me at ease. It seemed to be done so fast, and I didn't have any discomfort at any time even though they warned me I may feel bloated and uncomfortable for a little while after to procedure. I felt safe and in good hands from the moment I arrived. I plan on having them do my next one. read more

Some physician's good, some physician's bad.Do your homework. I'm trying to move from one Physician to another. I'm told I have to get permission from my last physician to go to another physician.I didn't do my homework, the first time and the doctor I chose was not a good fit. I've called 2 days in a row and the girl, that answers is so rude and cuts me off every time I have a question. read more

Per my husband - he recently had an appointment with Shelly Ranck - she was arrogant, condescending and hateful. He will never go back to her or clinic. Please remind staff to treat people as they would like to be treated. A little kindness goes a long way but in this case there was none. read more

The facility pushes biologic infusions on people that simply do not work. I've been on a biologic called Entyvio for approximately 2 years and it has had zero effect on me. None. Nothing. I don't think I've ever taken a drug that has literally no effect whatsoever on my body. Now, ask yourself why Midwest prescribes a drug that does NOTHING? Well, every time I receive Entyvio my insurance company is billed over $16,000. That is not a misprint. So the doctor at Midwest tells me "Give it time to work" and then I go online and read LOTS of very negative reviews, with many patients claiming Entyvio is nothing more than a placebo that does nothing but make insurance companies and doctors wealthy. I also believe this place over-prescribes colonoscopies. Sure, it's probably a good idea to have a colonoscopy every few years but Midwest Gastroenterology has a monopoly in town and multiple days per week you see dozens - maybe hundreds - of folks waiting in this huge waiting room for their procedure. There's no other place to go in a city of close to 1 million people! And I've talked to people who were told by a doctor at Midwest that they need a colonoscopy every other year and they're in good health. This is called "malpractice." Since there is no other facility in town that treats illness of the intestines I think I'm going to head for the Mayo Clinic. read more

I was greatly disappointed with the nurse practitioner who dismissed my symptoms, dismissed my values, and whose plan of action didn't line up with my symptomatology. I had heard some great things about a couple of the doctors, which drew me to the clinic. However, they weren't available for a long time- and the provider I saw - the nurse practitioner - has had an influence that gives me pause. read more

Absolutely horrible experiences with Midwest GI. Scheduling is a joke first you have to see an NP in order to schedule to see a Doctor who is scheduled 6 months out. The nurses are absolutely no help and are rude as can be. This is just another testament to why the American healthcare system is an absolute fraudulent joke. These doctors and this company do not care about their patients they care about how much money they can make. read more

Strongly recommend a new receptionist at 162 and Dodge location. Horrible communication person. No greeting. Not pleasant. One word answers. No eye contact. Sounds like she is reading a script. If you are assigned/scheduled to go to Midwest GI, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL to make them lay out ALL their charges, and how they're going to code them, BEFORE you agree to any procedure. If you do not, you are apt to find yourself owing them thousands of dollars, even if you are fully insured. read more

I'm new to the state and have never had this much trouble getting in to see a doctor. I have IBD and have several times reached out about scheduling an appointment because I've been struggling with my health and they never call back. I even left voicemails stating I'm having flare ups and two weeks have passed with no call back. I'll be finding a new practice. read more

I went to this facility a total of 3 times, third time was a "charmer". I had Dr. Wilkening the first 2 times. My last colonoscopy was done by Dr. Johsua Evans. The very first thing that happened that gave me pause, was the nurse that started my IV, seemed to be on drugs. She tried twice, once in the side of my arm-never had one try there before- then in the crook of my arm. I bruised so bad from both tries that it lasted a week. Yes, I bruise sometimes, but not like that! The next problem didn't come until billing. Dr. Wilkening had put me on a every 5 year schedule. I received a notice from this facility that my next procedure was due. So, I made the appointment. I had NO SYMPTOMS. This was a screening colonoscopy. The billing and coding head gal, first of all, called the procedure, a "colon". Now, that may be the term that is used with cohorts in your industry, but to a lay person, asking me, "when was your last "colon?" sounded pretty stupid. I told her I was born with a colon, wasn't she? She and the others in the billing and coding department told me numerous times that it wasn't a screening, and that since a polyp was found, not payable by insurance. This is wrong. I won't go into everything I found about screening colonoscopies online, and the new ACA insurance rules, but needles to say, it was totally paid for by my insurance. Went back and forth with them for 3 1/2 months, they changed it to a screening, because THAT'S what it was! I was even called and told in a very gleeful tone, that your insurance didn't pay, you owe the entire bill! It felt like harassment, and I will never go there again! Next time I will be on Medicare and hopefully not living in this state. read more

If one has to go here, I would recommend NOT seeing Dr. Alli. He is abrupt, rude, with poor bedside manner. He was in the room for about ten minutes then I dealt with two nurses. One of which was nice and told me I could switch to another doctor if I wasnt pleased. Donna, Alli's nurse, was the worst person in the medical field I've dealt with thus far. While on the phone for results she took it upon herself to say one of the blood test could point towards a tumor, after asking if that was something the doctor said or she is her response was snotty and 'well ma'am I'm telling you what I know this could be'. I said no you do not have the authority to tell someone that you say what the doctor told you to say. Her response was to tell me to calm down and not act like a maniac then hung up. My mouth dropped. After talking to the office manager, Rhonda, she stated as patients we actually don't get to choose to switch doctors, its 'organizational policy for them to decide' as to keep patients with the doctors theyve already seen. Now, on Vitals.com you can see doctor reviews. Mine is not the only one but Dr. Alli has 16 reviews equally a 2 star report stating "The overall average patient rating of Tyron A Alli is Poor" within his reviews most mention the poor attitude of Nurse Donna as well. Poor team, and would definitely have chosen differently had I known this about them. read more
