I have had some of the best healthcare and some of the worst through Northshore . At this point I'm…read moregoing through the worst . I saw Dr Scurto July 1 for a clearance for getting my gall bladder removed . She insisted I get the cardiac clearance to her prior to giving my clearance , this was not the case when I got clearance for my hysterectomy in March . I also saw Dr dcurto this past Monday as I was getting my blood drawn . She again reminded me she couldn't give clearance until I had cardiac clearance , I told her I knew we had discussed this at my visit and my cardiac appointment was July ninth just a few more days after the blood draw . Well July 9 I was cleared for surgery by the cardiologist Dr kannapuzah ( sp ?) at Methodist hospital cardiology center . The following day I contacted Northshore to assure the medical clearance from Dr scurto had been sent . It had not . Later that evening a get a call from Nadine (?) who stated that they had gotten some cardiac clearances but wasn't sure whose they were ( that's disconcerting ) . She will be sure to contact me a s a p Friday . Friday comes no call . I call and after several attempts I get through to a nurse who asks me for the number to the cardiac center because she insists they never received the clearance , I stated that was pretty bad the drs office needs me to give them the phone number to the hospital . The nurse replied they're just trying to help me ??? So as Friday goes on I contact the cardiac center to assure they sent the cardiac clearance ( which I watched them do Wednesday )? They had . I also contact my surgeons office for the most direct fax number for Northshore to send the medical clearance. I called Northshore at least three more times each time leaving a message on the clinical operators voicemail with the cardiac centers phone number if they still couldn't find the clearance , and my surgeons name and her schedulers direct fax number . Still at end of day Friday no communication to me from Dr Scurto or anyone about this . Having a porcelain gall bladder removed can be deadly . But we are just waiting days into weeks for the medical clearance. This 2025 . You don't even actually need to be on an office to send medical information . Saturday morning comes . ( today ) . I call Northshore. There is no way to get through as the receptionist has put me through to the clinical operators line and the recording system says your call cannot be transferred . I call again and am again put through to the clinical operators only to be on hold for 40! Minutes yes 40! I'm on hold past the time the clinic is open . How does someone close a medical facility with someone still on hold ? I call back afternoon to get the answering service and a snotty young person whose response to her question was there any more details I told her yes I've given you dates and times etc and you've included none . Her response ok great . When I asked her name she refused to give it instead putting me in hold for a supervisor which I hung up and called back after 15 minutes . The supervisor was able to get me through to Northshores on call physician who started really there was not anything to be done at this point I could have come in earlier and seen my regular practioner ( who was there while I was in hold for 40 minutes ) . She would contact Dr Scurto today and again Monday to follow up . Meanwhile I'm sick and if I throw up again I'm to go to the e r . Wonderful ..., lots of time and energy wasted for the same outcome . I probably will not end up having the surgeon I chose do the surgery because Dr Scurto decided I needed to get her my cardiac clearance prior to her giving medical clearance , which she never responded to in days !!! Medical negligence !!!

I'd like to make a formal complaint about NorthShore. I call several weeks ago because my elderly…read moremother had fallen and broken her front tooth. I was offered emergency service but was told that they wouldn't do anything if it wasn't painful-it wasn't. So I set up an appointment to get her tooth fix. I verified several times that she was coming in to get it repaired. I was told I would also get a call to verify her income and discuss discounts as her Medicare doesn't cover dental. I never received a call. So they say of, I had to keep requesting to see if she could get a discount. Turned out she was a couple hundred over for the year. And the first exam was $390, but it didn't include fixing the tooth (which was the only thing we were supposed to be scheduled for). They refused to fix her tooth at this appointment. Did a mini exam that took about 10 minutes. Filed down her tooth so that now you see a big missing part in her front tooth which wasn't visible before (making the tooth look much worse). Then we are told she can't get it filled until mid December. And even though we paid $100+ for the mini exam, you now want another $40 for the X-ray, even though we were told that the exam includes X-rays. And they still want her to do the $390 exam. This is definitely bait and switch. Taking advantage of elderly. I called two other dentists who charge about $250-$275 for a full exam with cleaning. And their fees for a filling are also less. I really feel like reporting you to someone for these billing practices that clearly show over billing.i tried to message in Facebook or find another way to contact someone, but no way to message was available. So I'm writing this review.

There was no rush to help him, or to even do anything for him. When he was throwing up the most they did was give him a bag to puke in. After he was finally admitted after say 20-30 minutes, a very young looking doctor came in. When the doctor was checking him up all he did was just feel his stomach a little bit and then send him home! Not to mention the two nurses that were assisting the doctor had the most meanest, miserable looks on their face, like they didn't care what the fuck was going on. So this whole experience was absolutely horrible and would not recommend this hospital for any patients that feel the need they should come here. And based off other review this hospital, nobody has a decent experience here. So overall this hospital was a super shitty experience.

Dr came in for a minute, your fine go home and drink a coke you ate something that did not agree with you. Are you kidding me. He would not let her even tell him all her symptoms. He did a scan said you have a blockage in your colon go see Gastrointestinal Dr. they took out her IV and left the room. Her Hand was bleeding no care at all. Let her leave in pain, not understanding what is going on and high blood pressure, low potassium. I cannot believe anyone professional even works there. So sad.

They decided, after a couple of days to do an angiogram. During this procedure, something came loose that caused a stroke, a grade 3, one of the largest strokes you can have. This facility is not prepared for stroke care, they offer none. So, if you pay attention to anything about strokes, once you have a stroke, the first hour is the MOST critical. It took FOUR hours (from the time the procedure for the heart started to the time they rolled my FIL into Community to try to start to remove the blockage for the stroke) for my FIL to be transported to Community hospital and then receive the treatment he needed to have the blockage from the stroke removed. By the time we laid eyes on my FIL, my husband and I just knew that it was too late and the damage had been done. Community did a great job on the following, but St. Mary's not being fully equipped to be ready for a stroke is where is all started. They should not be licensed to even perform these procedures. By the next afternoon, we had to make the decision to put my FIL on hospice. I would NEVER recommend this facility as they can't solve a problem if it arises. I hope no other family has to go through what we just went through. For the sake of your loved one's health, avoid this facility at all. During our time at Community, this is a full-service facility that is really like a Trauma Center, but is not actually "classified" as a Trauma Center. If it is at all possible, I would just go to Community.
