They are open during business hours the same time that I work so I can't even pick up. So they call me while I'm working to get confirmation, leaving messages if I will be taking my children to the appointment. By the time I get off of work and call they are closed. I have never called them to cancel the appointments so I expect to be able to still go. So on the appointment day before the appointment, I had off work for the appointment and were able call the office. When I called the front desk, front desk lady pretended to not know what I was asking about regarding the appointment. I asked if I could still bring my children to the appointment. She said what appointment when in fact she was the person who scheduled it a month ago and had been doing several calls the days before leaving messages about confirmation of my children going to the appointment, suddenly didn't know. I gave her the time and date and she said oh that appointment. We have to reschedule because it's our policy that if you can't confirm you are coming we now have to reschedule. Wow, they truly do not care what I had to go through in a month in advance just get my day off. It is not easy for me to be able to take a day off and they do not care. Also, what I had to do to get both of my children off for that day. Wow after arranging my day off of work a whole month in advance just to be canceled automatically. how stupid I felt to arrange my schedule and can't even go and how dumb that I had to call the schools back, tell them oh I'm sorry my children didn't get to go to their appointment so I will be bringing them back to school. Also for such policy, it is not available on their website that if they call and can't confirm that you can't make it to the appointment that you're appointment is automatically canceled and have to reschedule. When they scheduled it, it's their responsibility to inform you of their policy and I didn't get informed. Even the doctors office doesn't treat our family this way and we actually receive a reminder about our appointment. If the dental office have so much time to call and try and confirm we are going to the appointment then they should have time to complete reminder calls about appointments. This place has become trash, and have poor customer service. I can understand their concerns and frustration if I am a known repeat customer who never shows up for scheduled appointments and visits. But I have never stood them up and if I am unable to make it I have called and rescheduled. For such a policy it should also be public and available on their website. It's not even available so clients would know the their expectations. It's a dumb and inconsiderate policy and it should be public, why hide it, you don't care about your customers anyway.

All my life I get teeth cleanings every 6 months, and I lead a healthy lifestyle, been told my mouth is healthy. A couple years ago I tried Dental Visions when I moved to the area. I was surprised to need root canals and crowns amounting to several thousand dollars. It sounded like alot of work was needed urgently to complete within the year. I have great dental insurance but want to avoid unnecessary procedures. Did they just want to use up the annual benefit? I come from a family of dentists back home (unbeknownst to DV). I have gone home again for cleanings ever since, and have a clean bill of health for gums, teeth, and everything. The next XRAYS showed NO problems. Maybe there was a mistake or misunderstanding about the root canals and crowns since I never had any before and my mouth still feels fine. Just saying I felt manipulated and did not schedule anything more (and will not go back).

We tried a few others in the area and we finally landed upon Northwoods Dentistry in Wooddruff (Minocqua). Although we are pretty good judge of our personal needs---this was a huge mistake. While customers of this dental clinic---and not for a very long time---we were charged for mistakes (a filling on my wifes tooth fell off---2 times) ..the first time the dental clinic took care of it. But the second time they wanted us to pay to reattach it---so i complained about that and said I didn't think that was right --they subsequently reversed the charges. Then one day-- I had a bad tooth ache--real bad---and I felt abandoned---no help for my pain. It was up to me to find relief. So I searched and searched and found a Dentist in Park Falls that gave me relief. But the real kicker---I had another tooth that was bad---I mean really really bad --although i am not a woman...I would have preferred giving birth than dealing with this pain. Again--i felt abandoned by Northwoods Dental Clinic of Minocqua. So I searched and searched on the web and landed upon Szmanda Dental Clinic in Wausau--it was about 6:30 pm and somebody actually answered the phone. I was treated with so much respect and empathy---they fit me in the next day and I was finally put out of my misery as Doctor Nichols and his staff --on the spot--- extracted the tooth that was giving me so much agony--thank you Szmanda Dentistry. More to the story: We decided to move all of our dental deeds to Szmanda Dentistry and Doctor Nichols-- my wife is kinda woosy when it comes to dentistry stuff---they treated her with kid gloves--she was very relaxed when we left. I was so relieved. so thank you Dr. Nichols and Staff--Brianna,,Hannah and Robin too.

The building itself is really nice. Every room has a TV that shows what's on the computer, so you can see your bitewing X-rays as they come in. Once you lay back, there's a TV on the ceiling you can watch, with no sound if I remember right, but subtitles are on, which I kinda prefer in this case.

My hygienist was very thorough and personable. She explained everything before she started working on the next area so there were no surprises. She did a great job cleaning my teeth. The dentist was great too but he did remove his mask towards the end while standing up and explained my treatment plan. He did maintain distance but was still in the room with me so that made me a little uncomfortable. I also wished they could elaborate more on preventive measure for future reference in addition to treatment. He was a little nervous at first, but hygienists Susie and Mandy were so kind and personable that he warmed up pretty quickly. Doing these first appointments in a regular "meeting room" was much less intimidating than the "scary dental chair", which would have probably made our first visit a little different in a 2 year old's mind. Dr. Maggie is phenomenal! You can tell she and the hygienists have spent years in these roles with how educated they are in the child's world of dentistry. They made the teeth cleaning fun, talked to the many hurdles with diets for kids and keeping their teeth healthy, and gave me a good plan moving forward. Ever since our visit, my son likes to "play Dentist" at daycare and help the other kids brush their teeth and tells everyone about the slide. *Adorable* I HIGHLY RECOMMEND First Impressions in Weston for all families! Thank you for making the visit fun, thus creating a positive connection to the Dentist for my toddler! We can't wait to be back in 6 months.
