Dr Sergio was good, but he has retired. Their dental services are okay, but their billing business…read moreis deceiving. After the doctor recommended to do the surgery on only one pocket, they presented me a treatment plan, in which they told me that the normal fee is $1221 but the doctor would charge me only $255 because I have been treated here for a long time. They didn't tell me that the $1221 fee would be charged to the insurance and if the insurance doesn't cover it then I would have to pay. So, I went ahead and did the surgery. But once the surgery was done, I had to pay them $1221 right away. I asked them about this and then they said the $1221 fee is charged to the insurance. But I had done the same surgery for full mouth with Dr. Sergio 7 years ago and the insurance didn't cover the cost of the surgery. Had them told me that the $1221 would be charged to my insurance, I would not do the surgery. When I did the full mouth surgery with Dr. Sergio 7 years ago, the total cost was about $2700. Now they charge me amount half of that amount for doing the surgery on just one pocket using a deceiving tactic. It's a riff-off.

Dr. Sergio and his staff are top of the line and did my surgery right on. I do recommend them, but…read moreI had one problem that hurt me and it had nothing to do with the dental service. The billing office did not check with my insurance and when I showed up for what I thought was a preliminary visit, I hadn't yet called my insurance company either. The problem happened because as I was walking out after my preliminary appointment, they called me back before I could get to the door and said that they had a cancellation and wanted to do it right now. Well, I couldn't quite think straight, so said okay. In moments, I was in the chair and the surgery was under way. After that, they gave me the paper to send to my insurance, but I had to pay up front, the around $2,000 charge before I walked out. I paid and sent the papers in to my insurance. Weeks later, the charges were denied by my insurance, so I called them and found that my new year was only about 10 days ahead of when I had the surgery and I had already used up my $1,500 maximum coverage. Hard to believe, but I do understand that this is also my fault, but shouldn't they help me to save what I can by checking my insurance for me? Had I waited only 2 weeks before that surgery, they would have paid my maximum. I got stung, but got great service from all but the billing department, so I give them a 3-star for costing me so much money. I accommodated them by going in early, but they did nothing to help me with the abnormal bill. 12-27-2019 Nothing else to report on this, but shows that neither the insurance company or the business are both in it for the money, and neither was willing to part with some of their profit to help out by reducing the total bill. The surgery itself took the doctor and one assistant about 45 minutes to do, and boom! $1,800.00 pay up front before you go through the door, and it will be about 10% higher of a bill if not paid at that moment. Are they in it for the money? Does a little tiny laser take up that much electricity? Next time, I'll go to someone else, no matter how far away, if they are at least in my network and will be willing to work with my insurance. Otherwise, it's a rip-off.
