I regret hiring them to build a screened in porch…read more The quality of work is poor. Parts of the construction are failing less than two years after construction. The roof already leaks and they say they'll try to fix it if we sign a new contract with them. They say it's ice dams but cannot explain why the leaks occurred when there was neither ice nor snow near the seam they say is leaking. The exterior door repeatedly sagged and could not be opened. They came out to fix the door this summer (after many phone calls over a period of months) and nailed a big plywood board over the screen door to strengthen it - that's the permanent solution. The current door and frame are still both visibly crooked. It looks completely unprofessional and we feel like we're going to need to hire another professional to have the door reframed and replaced. The porch was not built according to the original agreement. We paid for helical screw pilings, but Miller Construction switched to cheaper concrete pilings without any notification, did not offer a refund for the difference in cost, and would not talk to us during construction to discuss the situation despite repeated requests. We paid for insulation throughout the addition, but the building was not framed to allow space for insulation in many sections of the room, so we have an addition that is only partially insulated. The communication with Miller Construction has always been poor. We've had multiple promises to call or come out to look at the various issues, but the promises are rarely kept. For the first few months after contracting with us, communication was so lacking we seriously questioned whether the company had run off with the initial payment. They hadn't, but they didn't reach out to us until months later when a crew showed up at the house unannounced. I wouldn't hire them again.

After receiving no response to the email I sent the owner, Cody, regarding all of the issues with…read morethe job his company did in our home, I originally posted the below review on 9/16/26 on Google. Interestingly, Cody called me that same night to discuss our concerns. He had a variety of excuses for why he hadn't responded to our email. We agreed to have him out to our home so he could see all of the concerns in person. While we wanted to get these issues addressed ASAP, Cody was focused on his company being involved in a TV show and asked that we wait to meet until 9/28/26 at 3:30pm. We agreed. At the end of the call, Cody asked me if I'd be willing to remove my review on Google just until we met and had a plan to fix the issues. In good faith, I agreed. Wrong decision as it appears getting the review taken down was the only thing motivating him to stand behind his company's work. 9/28/26 came and by 3:45pm Cody still hadn't shown up nor called. I texted him to see if he was still planning to come. He called me back 5 min later saying "he knows he should have been there by now", "he knew he shouldn't have scheduled it for a Monday as he'd be too busy" and "I'm now waiting for one of my other project managers to get here so he can come with me. We can be there around 5pm." Cody and his project manager arrive at our home. They spent almost 2 hours here looking at all of our ceilings, taking pictures and videos and hearing all of our complaints. They both agreed that the ceiling work was not done well and needed a lot of repairs in every room! Cody had a lot of reasons why it wasn't done well (the crew wasn't who he originally thought was going to be doing it, the crew that ended up doing it wasn't experienced enough, he didn't know it was only 2 guys on the crew as he thought it was more). Cody stated "I don't think I'll be able to get you the plan tonight but will tomorrow." We expressed our concern that follow through has not been a strength nor has their workmanship but we would look at his plan. It is now 10/1/26 and we have not received the plan nor any communication of any kind. *********************************************************** Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend Durahome Painting Plus for popcorn ceiling removal/knockdown application. We recently hired them to complete this job on all of the ceilings in our home (approx 1800sq ft). The cost of the job was just over $10,000. Before hiring them, I read all of the reviews on Google, Angi's, Yelp and Facebook. Given the positive reviews, the thorough estimate and the salesmanship of the owner/estimator, we hired Durahome Painting Plus. We were quoted it would take approx 5 days - they ended up being at our home 8 full days and 1 partial day due to problems. A large part of the kitchen had to be redone as the knockdown texture was terrible. I frequently pointed out areas of concern to Joe in person and via text (including pictures). Sometimes I had to point out the same areas more than once. Some of them still were not improved. The workmanship was very poor in many areas. We have mud/paint splatter on our walls, woodwork, doors, cabinets and carpet. There seems to be excessive wall damage where they yanked the tape off. The knockdown texture is inconsistent in every room. Some areas still look like a popcorn ceiling. We recently found areas that don't even have paint. Overall, the job was terrible. No attention to detail. We are now tasked with finding a company that will do the repairs as Durahome Painting Plus seemingly is not prioritizing the job since they've been paid. Do not hire this company.

I hired them to remove and replace baseboards and door trim through Home Depot's Pro service. They double-booked the day my project was supposed to start and instead of rescheduling (which I offered), they sent the owner's brother-in-law - who doesn't even work for the company - into my home. He caused damage, and the work was sloppy and incomplete. The workmanship was terrible: - Boards weren't nailed securely - Large gaps between baseboards and walls - No caulking at seams - Only some nail holes filled - Some corners are mitered, others aren't - they're just boards stuck together for an unfinished, inconsistent look - They skipped spray painting the boards (as outlined in the contract), left several unpainted, and only painted the front face of others. After several text messages with Adam around my disappointment with the incomplete and sloppy work, they did offer to come back and fix things (contract has a workmanship guarantee) - but at that point, NO THANK YOU. The trust was gone, and I wouldn't feel comfortable letting them back in my home. I will likely have to rip half of it out and hire someone else to redo it - leaving me out a significant amount of money, and they don't care. Adam takes an 'Adam first' approach vs. a customer first approach as advertised. The finished product looks like a rushed DIY job I could've done myself. Unprofessional from start to finish.

There were times when -and I do understand family things that come up-that communication and follow up were awful. Lucky for us my husband works from home and can flex his schedule. We chose this team because they presented the scope of work so much better than anyone else and not based on the cost of the service alone. Too bad you didn't live up to that.

What Andrew's crew was able to do with our cedar deck was nothing short of a miracle! We have a two…read moreyear old deck that was destroyed by a cheap deck staining company we took a flyer on when we first had the deck built. All the wood was chewed up from overly aggressive pressure washing and there were drip marks everywhere. And a lot of the stain was peeling and flaking. Our deck literally looked like a 20-year old deck when it was only two years old! I contacted two companies to get bids. The first company recommended stripping, sanding, and staining the deck. The second company was Andrew's company, Durapro Painting. When Andrew came out he recommended we only sand and stain. He was confident his crew could make the deck look new again without going through the hassle (and additional expense) of stripping it down with chemicals. The deck looked so bad that I was leery they could make it look new with just sanding and staining. Plus, Andrew's bid was $500 more than the guy who was going to do al l three - strip, sand, and stain. Andrew was easy to talk to, very professional, and really seemed to know his stuff. But what really stood out was when he told me his crew would work on this deck as if it was his own. In other words, they would strive for perfection on this deck. I rolled the dice and went with him even though he was a little more expensive. I'm glad I did! Andrew's crew was amazing. They were very nice, very professional, and unbelievably thorough. They literally dismantled all the railings on my deck so they could hand sand every square inch. They spent almost an entire week (up to 8 hours a day sometimes) just sanding the entire deck. They sanded my deck like it was a fine piece of furniture. It was pretty amazing to watch. They were just as careful and thorough when they applied the stain. They ended up putting on two coats to make sure the color was perfectly even everywhere and to really make the deck pop. The amazing thing was I couldn't find a single drip mark anywhere and this is a pretty large deck. To be able to apply two coats of stain on a large deck without any drip marks is pretty remarkable. Our deck looks brand new! We're thrilled because until we talked to Andrew we were contemplating replacing the deck with maintenance-free decking which would have cost thousands of dollars. Andrew saved us a ton of money and now we have an awesome looking deck. If the deck looks this good a year from now, I'll definitely be hiring Andrew again to restain it when it needs it.

Our expectations, based on our initial meetings, were to use Owner-Built (OBMS)/Jim Rumler's…read moreexpertise as a second set of eyes to help with the many details - unknown to us - involved with the remodeling project and to save "25% or more" based on viewing his website. First, we did not recognize 25% savings for our project. Our biggest ticket items were our flooring, countertop, cabinets, and electrical. The flooring was purchased using OBMS' manufacturer's discount. The discount brought the flooring to the same price we could have purchased it at using a local flooring dealer. The countertop was market rate. The cabinets were custom-made and one of the only areas we saw savings. The electrical was market rate. Second, OBMS received payment of 25% of the total costs. That included items we secured, researched, and where he offered no value or discount (e.g. light fixtures, appliances, plumbing fixtures, paint). Finally, Jim made *ONE* trip to the site during the two plus months of construction. What he provided was a list of vetted contractors, and a plug-in timeline and budget worksheet for our project. He made a few phone calls, sent a few emails, and texts providing very little useful counseling or expertise. His coaching at one point was to chastise us for not letting him know there were issues with the drywall work. We were also told asking for estimates from a few contractors was "frowned upon" in the industry. We would not recommend OBMS based on our experience.
