What happened to this company's transparency in billing? I only got the total amount verbally and…read moreonly after repeated requests, and no official receipt! The manager said they would "try to come up with something", and was pretty unpleasant about my having mentioned their lack of quotes and receipts in the survey that they had emailed me. Really? You are supposed to provide detailed quotes and receipts. The company used to do that right. The changes that someone has instituted are not making for happy customers. Has it occurred to you that some customers may need those receipts for tax purposes? What you sent me via email within the body of your request for survey was a joke. I will update the rating when I receive the official receipt on the company's letterhead with a description of the work done and breakdown of charges. UPDATE: they finally got the Invoice right. To their credit, their response to survey and review was as quick as could be.

Would be 5 stars if it had been done this way from day one, I hadn't needed to clean up the scraps on the floor from the first crew, and my car wasn't now sitting out in the snow and cold because I had to move it out again - and the starter failed in the sub-0 temps. Things are corrected now, if it had gone this well the first time, it would be 5 stars. So they can do excellent work.

This fall, we contracted with AJ Constuction to replace our deck with a composite material deck…read more The project went well until it came time to wrap up the project, and unfinished items. Our two biggest complaints were 1) the contractor has refused to turn over any materials purchase receipts so we have record of the purchase for warranty purposes, and 2) We have an issue with one of the steps that has a saw cut in it that needs to be replaced. The contractor will not return text messages or calls. Before I would make a final payment to this contractor, I would make sure everything is totally complete, and you have all the paperwork to support the project. Our mistake was to give him a check late in the day of his final day on site, without having the ability to take a good long look at everything in the light of day. At that time he also promised to deliver the necessary paperwork, and to drop off leftover materials for use to make minor changes ourselves. Do not make a final payment to this person, until everything is complete. Dan Wickett
