I contacted Jason Sullivan when I was looking at the different Midwest automotive design floor plans and he assisted me in finding the perfect RV for my needs. I purchased a 2017 Midwest automotive design weekender MD4 lounge from a private party In Grand Rapids then I drove down to Elkhart to see the Midwest Automotive Design plant. They threw out the red carpet! They gave me a tour of the plant. They checked out by RV and game me replacement parts for some of the things the had a little bit of wear on them. The gave me a new radio and installed it no charge. My 2017 looks brand new! I had some warranty work done at the Mercedes Benz dealership in San Jose and when they needed approval Midwest did not even hesitate. Midwest Automotive Design is fast to answer any questions and to assist me In figuring out all the millions of functions that this RV has, from the multiplex wiring to the various different heater and air conditioning systems. They do not respond to E mails or texts, heaven forbid you break down on the road and need some technical help. I've had a Passage for a year now and the ONLY support I have been given is from the dealer I bought the rv from . A truly great product, the rv, untill it breaks down. read more

Once you purchase, this manufacturer is non-responsive. Just getting someone other than the front desk on the phone is aggravating. I feel like I had entered into a relationship with their voicemails. Especially Nick! There's other luxury manufacturers of Class B RV's to choose from and they have decent customer service reviews. read more

⁩ Robert Cronin and Brandon Sharp are the best! I bought a recently used 2023 RV from Rec Van in Fremont that was supposedly minimally used but was actually missing parts. The dealership wouldn't do anything about the missing parts once the vehicle was off their lot. I contacted Midwest and they were able to find the parts for me at great prices and helped me figure out how to install and use the parts. I had so many questions for them but they patiently answered all my emails in a timely manner. I'm very pleased with their service and wish I discovered them before I purchased my RV. I definitely recommend Midwest for their great service because of these two gentlemen. We have a 2021 Weekender. Really poor workmanship. Great designs, very good sound dampening, and if it was reliable, it would be awesome. In addition to the really poor attention to detail and craftsmanship, a major problem has been the underwhelming support from Midwest A.D. They have been extremely slow and generally non-supportive. We bought our Weekender almost brand new. Only had 3000 miles on it and was less than one year old. Their warranty does not transfer to additional buyers, which says it all in our opinion. But at least we have an extended warranty. We have had nothing but issues in the year and a half since we bought the van. Firefly control panel (was covered under original warranty but they fought us in replacing it), multiple hose connection disconnects, generator, generator, generator, propane tank connection, ProAir A/C is worthless unless don't need it, hot water heater, Fusion connections, handles/faucet connections coming loose, water tank leak, you name it. Think finally have everything working but no thanks to MDA. Agree with other reviews - hard to believe these guys are still in business. Really poor management. And I do not normally write reviews but enough is enough. read more

I'd like to begin by expressing how much we admire our Midwest Class B motorhome, particularly the Passage model, which suits our family's needs perfectly. However, since purchasing it over a year ago, we've encountered numerous minor yet frustrating issues. It appears that Midwest may not conduct thorough quality control checks before distributing their vans for sale. For instance, we discovered that the hot water heater valve had not been activated, preventing the van from supplying hot water. Additionally, the water lines to the sinks were not properly tightened, leading to leaks that caused damage to the cabinets. The awning also had a tendency to jam, necessitating the installation of spacers by the dealer to address this problem. Furthermore, after taking possession of the van, I noticed an imperfection on the roof that seemed indicative of a previous repair. The repair for the sink leak was delayed for months as we awaited the necessary parts from Midwest. read more

The worst company to Buy a sprinter van. Do not waste your money or time buying from these guys. Once they get your money they don't care about you after. Been waiting on replacement parts for over a year and and can never get anyone to return my calls or respond to my emails. The whole team is terrible. We were very happy with the customer service at MAD. Not only do we love the quality of our van but when there were warranty items to fix, they took care of them and kept us in the loop on the progress. We went to the factory to pick it up and Kyle walked us through all the work that was done and made sure all our questions were answered. We would bring up something as a question or a request; and he would get the right person there to handle it for us on the spot! This is our first RV and we were very nervous about getting the kinks worked out at first. Kyle took great care of us. And we feel like their service now matches the fit and finish of their high-end Class B rigs. read more

I usually don't write reviews but the quality of the RV they built is indeed questionable. We purchased a 2020 Passage model and has since experienced nothing but issues. The shower doesn't work, water heater doesn't work, rattle everywhere while driving, and a leaky roof. The company provides little to no support and basically tells us tough luck. Spent over $160k and this is what we got. Will be eating the loss and trade it in rather than dealing with this long term. read more

I will start off by saying in my opinion Midwest Designs makes one of the nicest class B's on the market which is why I purchased one. I purchased a preowned 2018 weekended with 5,200 miles. I noticed their 3 years or 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty which was another great reason that drew me to their units. It states in the owners manual (Pictured) the warranty is transferable so I took the steps to transfer then hit a wall. I called and spoke to Noy at Midwest Corporate who handles warranty claims and she was very polite after I finally got in touch with her. Left 2 messages over a week and a half then finally received a response to my email after 2 days. I know she is busy but this is way too long to receive a response. I explained to her that the Midwest dealer in Tampa FL told me my chrome plated wheels which were peeling were covered under warranty and its been happening to a lot of units.. After talking to Noy she said no they were not and also that I have no warranty through Midwest as their warranty is not transferable and they must have been cleaned with harsh chemicals which is nonsense. She then explained she would have Travis get in touch with me about purchasing new wheels for my unit at my expense. You guessed it, I NEVER received a response. Since then I have encountered 2 other Midwest dealers who have stated they are dropping the Midwest brand from their dealerships as the customer service is awful and never even received training on the units. I wish I knew this before buying one and had trusted my gut and went with an Airstream Interstate even though I like the design better on the Midwest. Lesson learned I guess. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of Midwest even though they are the nicest looking out there. Noy you and Travis need to get your act together along upper management at this business if it wants to survive such a competitive market read more

1. If this can help one person, then it will be worth it. 2. This was just a bad product with no attention to detail. 3. If I found the following things on the surface, what can be expected underneath? I bought a new "2021 Midwest Automotive Design Passage" $170k. VIN registers as 2019 (I understand assembly time etc, would have expected a 2020 chassis). It was purchased through Marine World in Witchita KS. Transported without event. I was assured that the automobile had been checked out for functionality prior to shipping. Upon arrival, we did a facetime walk through with Marine World and noticed that the screen door did not make contact with the door frame when closed leaving a "gap". The "gap" was more like a small "Doggy Door". We were assured that "this was typical for these screens on the vehicles". Then I noticed that the frame of the screen was not even properly mounted and there were screws hanging in the air that were supposed to be fixated to the inside of the door frame. I asked "is this typical for these kinds of vehicles?"......Crickets.... We then noticed that when lowering the mechanical bed, it comes off the tracks. No hard stop. Took 30-45 minutes to get it back in tracks. Brackets holding mechanical bed, bent bunged up with exposed razor sharp edges for my kids to cut themselves on. Heater control for rear missing, Cup holder sitting crooked and dislodged in left rear, when pulled up, exposed a vent pipe that made it impossible for the cupholder to ever be set in place (making the hole 1 inch to the left would have allowed it to sit in place) TV mount parallel to the slopping wall of the van which means that when the bracket is extended, the TV is slanted 10-15 degrees. (This could have been predicted and corrected with a shim on the wall of the van to make the arm then extend parallel to the floor of the van). Rear Seatbelts mounted with the brackets facing the rear door which made the seat belt receiver clip side, too short to reach the seat. (whoever installed was obviously standing at the rear and had no attention to detail, so never checked to see if they would reach the seat). Rear door storage compartment barely holding on with sharp edged right angle brackets with two different types of screws, sharp edges of the brackets already tearing the upholstery on the back door. Back door inside paneling already pealing off. We sent the vehicle back. 1. Marine World taking the vehicle back was the appropriate thing to do. 2. They need to check their quality control. No way this product was really checked out by someone at their dealership, and if it was, that person needs some retraining on what qualifies as an appropriate presale check out. 3. They also need to question their relationship with Midwest Automotive Design. The product that they are producing is low quality. 4. Before you buy anything, touch it, feel it, kick the tires. I have little faith in the quality of Midwest Automotive Design. read more

We just purchased our new MAD Weekender this week. The attention to quality within the coach was excellent. We bought it approximately 350 miles from home, so we drove it back. No problems. We were however missing the front cup holders on the coach. We decided to accept it like that at the dealer and contact Midwest. They overnighted them to us. I was surprised and pleased to get such an immediate response. Great Customer service. read more

This company has connection to Brian Stout who was in partnership Jason Sullivan at Agile Resources previously where I had a conversion done to my Mercedes Sprinter Van. The van had occurred hood damage while is possession that was not rectified, was three months past the deadline for completion and was unfinished with over $4000 in unfinished work that I had paid to for. After endless phone calls in anger with no answer to Brian I had to take it in the teeth and accept a subpar incomplete job with Damage. read more

We are considering purchasing a 2019 Weekender from a private seller. I learned today (from MAD) that Midwest Automotive Design will not extend the warranty to the second buyer. The warranty is only good for the first purchaser of the unit. Doesn't sound like good business to me. Buyers beware if you are looking to buy a used MAD expecting that the manufacturer will continue to warranty the vehicle. read more

Well nothing has changed in 2 months from another review (now March 2018). Need to speak to someone about customer service issues as soon as possible. We received unacceptable customer service and experience during our purchase of a Midwest Automotive Designs Weekender. The factory dropped the ball on every aspect and we are not confident that any remedies planned will be executed appropriately. Our understanding was that the vehicle and customer service were to be "the Mercedes Of Class B experience." This vehicle was sent back to factory to be restored to off the line quality and function. Instead, their were cracked shower walls, outdated equipment (or an extreme inability to explain any of the equipment and features s to confirm functional)....and a total lack of doing anything promised. Never mind filth inside and out. Currently, this is actually the worst experience we have had in any purchase of anything...this is not only wasting our time, incurring additional cost, but shaking our confidence in your product. This is reputation impacting! (Went back to dealer who helped remedy as best they could - appreciate their help and not their fault), but still shaken by overall experience and now realize how bad this situation is with lack of a someone who can provide accurate formation and deliver the premium experience expected. This is reputation impacting! Now that we have it with very little remedies...not one person has followed up. Not impressed by the service at all. read more

1/17/18 As a further update, my first warranty visit for little items that need to be addressed has been going VERY well. Apparently, Midwest is serious about changing the course of our very rocky start, and has been very helpful and responsive in getting the warranty items addressed. Things are certainly looking up ! As a result I have upgraded my rating from one star to three. They are making every effort ! 1/4/2018 Update : As a result of the previous post I received a phone call from the owner of the company. He expressed deep concern over the mis-handling of my purchase. He assured me that things would go much smoother from that point on. I have just returned from a three week road trip and have several small items that need addressed. Nothing out of the ordinary, and for the most part the van performed well on the trip. Too early to tell yet, but I am hopeful that they will be able to address these issues in a timely manner, and that everything is back on track. I do appreciate that the owner of the company took the time to get involved ! 12/5/17 If you are considering a van from these people, please, please, please DO NOT DO IT ! My van has been completed since October 19. It is now December 5th. I have been paying for this van for 6 weeks now. I have yet to be able to use it. Someone else got to enjoy it for a whle as it was delivered (finally) to me with no fuel, 350 miles on the odometer, and the interior looked like some children had been eating cookies on all of the seats. The company is populated by really nice people, with absolutely no clue about customer service. Need a part ? Good luck sucker. It takes weeks for anyone to return your calls. Then, when they finally do, they make promises they never intend to keep just to shut you up... And then they just do whatever they want anyway, which is certainly NOT helping you with your issues. Mine was missing sensors in the bumper. Turns out they scavenged the sensors off my unit for another unit and then neglected to replace them. They just stuck the bumper back on and hoped I wouldn't notice that the most important piece of safety equipment that MBZ put on the van now does not work. Their solution ? Call MBZ and see if they will send you a new sensor under warranty ! For me it is time for an attorney. Do yourself a favor and buy any other van from any other builder, just do not buy from Midwest Automotive. They make a beautiful product, and talk a good talk, but you will regret doing business with them from the moment they cash your last check. read more
