Snow storm and mistake on delivery time still great experience…read moreDecember 29, 2025 scheduled date I was given, however Patrick had December 30 on his paper work and was surprised to see me there with my trade I just picked up from storage in Hudsonville, Mi. Problem was I had to have my deliver the 29th and I had to have it near 1:00 PM to give me time to get the new RV to my Hudsonville indoor heated storage location before they closed. Maybe the worst weather this winter tried its best to make things hard, but it failed. Patrick Brown (my salesman) did everything needed to make it happen even thought the finance lady was not there and he had to get a substitute money person to make the deal happen and he had to get the prep people to push the new coach delivery up a whole day. Patrick made everything happen and I made it to storage with 10 minutes to spare. I am not sure how the date got messed, but Terrytown and Patrick fixed everything. AS I said this is my 4 purchase from Terrytown which includes three Super C's and one B, this one was a new Super C and I traded a 2025 Sunseeker 2400B Sprinter (purchased from a different dealer) that proved to be great but just too small in the bedroom and in the storage department. All my purchases from Terrytown were for new coaches and all the purchases have been good experiences. I am 81 and have owned more than 30 new coaches. I buy and trade a lot, if I live long enough I will be back to see Patrick and Terrytown again. jond

We brought our Jayco Eagle to Terrytown and they noticed a small tear in our roof membrane and…read morerecommended we replace the membrane. About 10 weeks later, the roof lining was finally replaced. We called to check on the trailer many times, and there were always "reasons" why it was not finished in a timely manner. Often items needed to be ordered. We picked up the trailer and from what we could see with the naked eye, the roof looked ok. We are not experts. Fast forward to February 2026. We traveled to Galveston, Texas. Just traveling down the highway at 65mph, the membrane ripped away. We contacted Terrytown and told them about the issue and stated: We "do believe that Terrytown should stand behind their work. Given that the new roof was put on by Terrytown only 6 months ago, the conclusion is an improper install." Terrytown refused reimbursement. They would not stand behind their work.

Then less then 90 days after purchase and just on the second trip out, got all set up and the A/C would not even come on. Contacted Good Sam which Camping World misrepresented to me and they referred me back to Camping World since it's under warranty. I specifically asked the representative as to why I have Good Sam if they can't assist me and that it's not worth the service until the warranty expires and he even agreed. Called the Grand Rapids service department and they have no after hour drop offs and offered nothing other than for me to take off to drive 1 1/2 hours to them. Sales manager was not sympathetic at all and simply said, "well other people figure it out, so can you". Definitely will not take my business there nor refer anyone there either. Very poor customer service and in my opinion, not very honest people when they sell you a worthless service (Good Sam) when they know well enough it's worthless during the warranty period.

Buyer Beware! I would rate them zero stars if I could…read more We purchased a used trailer from Camping World in Grand Rapids, and it was a huge mistake. By the time they finished adding fees, services, and extras, the final price was substantially higher than what we expected. If you're considering buying an RV here, I strongly recommend hiring an independent RV inspector before signing anything. Camping World claims they perform a thorough inspection on every used RV before selling it. Based on our experience, I don't believe that's true. Our problems started almost immediately. Issue #1: About a week before our first major camping trip, I went to extend the slide-out and discovered there was no power from the 12-volt system. The battery was completely dead. I bought and installed a new battery, which allowed me to extend the slide, but by the next day that battery was dead too. I had to manually retract the slide and tow the RV an hour back to Camping World. Their service department found loose wires in the 110-volt connection that prevented the battery from charging. This absolutely should have been caught during any legitimate pre-sale inspection. Issue #2: Once we arrived at our campsite, we discovered the water heater didn't work. Thankfully, we had purchased the extended warranty, so it was covered--but it still took three weeks to get authorization and complete the repair. During that same trip, the black tank dump valve became stuck open because debris had been left in the tank by the previous owner. Again, the extended warranty covered the repair, but it was another unnecessary hassle that should have been prevented before the RV was sold. We also purchased the ceramic coating package, which I consider a complete waste of money. I previously sold ceramic coating products for years, so I know how they should perform when properly applied. Camping World either does not apply the product correctly or, based on what I observed, may not apply it at all. Our RV was dirty when we picked it up, with black streaks still on the exterior. After washing it, water did not bead or sheet off the surface as it should with a properly applied ceramic coating. That raised serious questions about whether the coating had ever been applied. After our second camping trip, I noticed a repaired area on the camping side of the RV. There were obvious paint runs, and graphics that exist on the opposite side were missing. You could even see the outlines where the original decals had been. Camping World denied performing the repair, but it's concerning that this damage was never disclosed. What really left a bad impression was the sales process. While we were signing the loan paperwork, several employees walked by and commented things like, "Is that RV new? It looks brand new." They all knew it wasn't new because Camping World doesn't even sell this model new. It felt like a deliberate attempt to make us feel we were getting something newer than we actually were. I returned to the dealership to give them an opportunity to make things right. The sales manager simply told me that used units are sold "as is" and refused to address any of our concerns. We also spent a significant amount of money on accessories and upgrades in their store. After this experience, we will never purchase another RV or any products from Camping World again. We'll also be sharing our experience with friends, family, and anyone considering buying from them. Do your homework, have an independent inspection performed, and be extremely cautious before purchasing a used RV from Camping World.

A seam by the kingpin separated on our drive home, 2 of the slides were leaking water, the latches on 1 of the outside storage doors were sticking, the tv wasn't working and the automatic leveler wouldn't turn on. They actually fixed it a lot faster then I thought, about 1 week. But when we got there to pick it up, the automatic leveler still wasn't working and it had to be jumped. A week later, while we're on vacation, 1 of the slides that were fixed is still leaking water, the USB outlet quit working, 1 of the outlets in the bedroom was dangling from the ceiling and worst of all the same slide that was leaking tore a hole in my floor and there was a huge bubble in the wall behind the couch. Now, this is where all the drama begins!!!! I take it back to American RV (ANOTHER 6 HOUR DRIVE) to have them fix it in April 2018....I just picked it up yesterday JUNE 26, 2018 AND THEY DID NOTHING, THEY'VE HAD MY TRAILER FOR 2.5 MONTHS!!!! This whole time HOWARD in service kept telling me that Winnebago was holding up the repairs, all the parts were on back order, they wanted a labor estimate with the part estimate....REALLY?? Why wasn't labor included to begin with????? Anyways, I call Winnebago and ask them what the problem is and come to find out, they don't even have a work order or a warranty repair request on file from American RV. They have nothing. So now Winnebago is trying to find out what's going on. The same day I speak to Winnebago, the dingbat HOWARD calls me to give me an update. An update on nothing. He says they're still waiting and nothing new has happened. So I advise him of what Winnebago told me...they don't have a work order...Howard obviously becomes quiet and says, let me find out what's going on and I'll call you back...that was June 3, 2018, and I haven't heard from him since. He refused to call me back, he refused to talk to me, he even refused to talk to Winnebago...when Winnebago's customer service called Howard yesterday June 26 to see if the trailer was in 1 piece so I could pick it up...Howard was rude and nasty to him. He asked him why was he calling him and he would only speak to me about my trailer and that he would call me directly!!! REALLY??? The idiot won't even speak to me...and needless to say, he never called me. So I called Howard to tell him I was coming to pick up my trailer, of course, he didn't answer the phone, I spoke to someone else and asked him to pull my trailer out cause I would be there today to pick it up. I called back around 5pm because I had a feeling that (maybe) it wasn't moved. The receptionist told us Howard said "You already spoke to someone and they said it would be out there", pretty nasty yet again. This idiot is unprofessional, incompetent and rude...I can't believe this guy still has a job or that his employer tolerates his behavior...especially the way he was nasty and unprofessional with Winnebago. It's obvious I slipped through the cracks and this guy dropped the ball. Even Winnebago said they gave him numerous chances to redeem himself and he NEVER did. And you have this clown in service???? What a joke. American RV Service is the worst business I've ever dealt with. I think everyone is still disgruntled because Camping World bought out their crappy business. If you don't believe me, buy your RV from them, and make sure you take it in for service...you'll find out how horrible they are.

AUTHORIZATION!, NOW YOU ASK ME!!!! Then after attempting to straighten that out and having to get my claims adjuster involved for a second time, these dimwits then decided that nothing would be done until I had paid them thousands of dollars up front. Granted I had already been paid for the repair by the insurance company and had the money ready but they waited an additional MONTH! before telling me this!!! I have had nothing but poor service from this place. It was the last straw and I picked up the unit, untouched, unrepaired and waiting to see if they were going to attempt to charge me for storage. Luck for them they didn't as I was prepared to do battle over this ridiculous waste of time and effort. If the new owner, from what I am told, the old owners son, wants to run this business into the ground then he sure has one heck of a business model to do it! This place is pathetic! From the time I initially walked into the door until I drove out the gate with my unrepaired camper I was astounded with the stupidity, and lack of customer service. At one point during the long duration of storage at American RV the sales person actually tried to get me to trade in my camper so that I could then go into hock with them for a new one! What an a$$hole! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!! You have seriously made it to my sh*t list and I will be posting this everywhere!

Review of General RV in Wayland, Michigan…read more We recently had the pleasure of working with General RV in Wayland, Michigan, and overall, it was a very positive experience. Here's a detailed breakdown of what stood out and a few areas where there's room for improvement. What Stood Out Wide Range of Options: General RV offers an impressive variety of choices, from their "Keep You Camping" program - considered an "industry differentiator" because it prioritizes your ability to use your RV during peak camping season and educates owners on what truly needs immediate attention versus what can wait - to various extended warranties. Their willingness to work with customers and tailor options to individual needs really sets them apart. Exceptional Team Members * Marcus (Salesperson Extraordinaire): Marcus was fantastic. He patiently answered all our questions and helped us secure a great price. His expertise and knowledge of the industry as a whole, honesty and friendly approach made the buying process smooth and enjoyable. We appreciated all of his tips and tricks while test driving and found his insight and attention to detail refreshing! * Justin (Financier and "Cliff Talker Offer"): Justin was incredibly patient with all our questions, especially when we raised concerns about General RV's service department Yelp rating. He walked us through the financing options clearly and helped us understand everything thoroughly. * Aaron (Parts Specialist): Aaron was straightforward and helpful, providing a clear list of must-have, nice-to-have, and cool items for our RV. His no-nonsense attitude was refreshing and very useful. I love that he did not try to sell us things we didn't need and answered lots of questions about water systems and electricity! * Jim (Walk-Through Expert): Jim gave us a thorough walk-through of the RV and explained all the features in detail, ensuring we felt confident with our purchase. * Andrew (Insurance Specialist): Andrew was amazing at finding the best insurance coverage and deductible combination within our budget. His expertise made a complicated process much easier. * Front Desk Team: The ladies at the front desk were attentive and helpful throughout. Even though they initially spelled our name incorrectly, they quickly fixed it and kept the atmosphere light with some friendly teasing. Areas for Improvement While the overall experience was great, the cleanliness and attention to detail inside the RV could use some work. There were small issues like the time wasn't set on the clock, dried chunky caulking around the outside lights and smeared on a window, and a receptacle so dusty that I initially thought its color was off. Improving these small details would elevate the customer experience significantly. Final Thoughts General RV in Wayland offers excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of helpful programs that make RV ownership easier and more enjoyable - especially for a first time buyer. With a bit more focus on the finishing touches and cleanliness, they would be absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the market for an RV.

I do not recommend this dealership…read more First, the coating package is a complete scam. They advertise one price, but once all the additional fees are added, you end up paying almost double. Save your money and don't buy it. The sales process was also very disappointing. The salesperson kept adding extra products and services, making the final price much higher than expected. I felt pressured into purchasing things I didn't really need. The biggest issue was that the salesperson assured me my current truck was capable of towing the camper. After I took delivery, I found out that wasn't true. I ended up having to replace my truck just to tow the camper I had purchased. I feel like I was misled, and that was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, the very first time I used the camper, my vacation was ruined. The fresh water system appeared to be contaminated, with what looked like bug eggs in the water tanks, and the water coming out of the faucets had a terrible smell. I had to spend a good part of my trip on the phone with customer service trying to get help. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was just as disappointing. The representative I spoke with was rude and unhelpful, and the woman at the front desk treated customers with very little respect. It felt like they didn't care about resolving the issues after the sale. Overall, this has been one of the worst purchasing experiences I've had. I would not recommend doing business with this dealership. I hope my review helps others avoid the same headaches, unexpected expenses, and poor customer service that I experienced.
