They charge outrageous fees, yet they can't even fix basic maintenance issues. Our dishwasher has been broken for over a month and a half. The fire alarms went off for SIX hours, and nothing was done about it. The WiFi goes out constantly -- at least two to four times every single week. They charge ridiculous amounts for parking, so I'm forced to park a block away because I can't afford it. On top of that, they bill residents $160 a month for electricity, which makes absolutely no sense for the amount of power we actually use. It's honestly ridiculous. We're paying way too much to deal with broken appliances, constant internet issues, and overall poor management. They need to start fixing things and taking responsibility, because this is beyond frustrating and completely unfair to the residents. read more

The apartments are run down! Mold, broken baseboards, live wires, missing smoke detectors. The apartment refused to clean the mold properly and took two months to finish fixing the other things. Staff was friendly at first but became difficult quick! Had to pay two months of rent while not being able to live in the "move in ready" apartments. read more

I lived at Midtown for 2 years, and overall the actual living space and location is nice. However, there are a few things to consider before moving in. The public communal wifi goes out about once a week, usually at the most inconvenient times possible. The fees they pile on are wild (after I signed my renewal, they changed the way utilities were paid with no heads up causing a $30 monthly increase for me personally), and they charge a fee for them to put on events (aka an impromptu pizza and pool party two days after the fire alarms were going off from 11:30pm to 3am). They also charge something along $50 per spot of chipped paint when you move out. Oh and good luck finding parking if you don't manage to get a parking pass in mid July (they say they have no more passes but the parking garage is NEVER full). The dryer also takes a couple cycles to get one load of clothes dry, and the staircases will smell like dog pee for a couple weeks if a dog had an accident. The trash pickup also took a steep decline the second year I lived there making the halls smell atrocious at times. Do not live here! A new company has taken over and it has gone extremely downhill. They changed internet companies and the internet is useless. I cannot even do my homework in my apartment. Over 50% of the tenants have no where to park. I am forced to park 1/2 mile away. People let their pets use the bathroom in the hallways. The hallways reek of "substances". No one answers the phone. Listen if you need somewhere to live and can't find anywhere else it's not terrible. It's a roof over your head but let me just say the service here is interesting. A new leasing company took over and it went down hill super fast. The leasing office always closes early so if you need to run to get a package at 6:50 pm, they left even though they close at 7. They also created "VIP parking" on the first floor?? That's never been a thing and they charge you 100 dollars to park there ???? If you expect anything to be clean when you move in, it's a joke. Everything in here is covered in mud and dust !! Also the air conditioning is awful. Ours makes a loud noise and freezes all the time. It was leaking water and molded and they sprayed some paint over the mold to cover it up. I would recommend living anywhere else if you can but it's not the worst place. read more

Absolutely awful organization! We paid three months in advance yet they tried to charge us again for those three prepaid months. The local office can do absolutely NOTHING to help. And I mean NOTHING. They give you an email to deal with the accounting department. The accounting department doesn't have a phone number so you can't even speak to someone about the overcharge. You have to email them but we couldn't get a response from our email to the accounting department. We're probably going to have to pay for a lawyer. The bathroom was disgusting when we moved in. The moving out charges were a complete scam. Unfortunately, they'll stay full because students need somewhere to live. I wish OSU or the city of Stillwater reviewed these companies before allowing them to take the students's money. Save yourself the headache and choose a different apartment complex!! read more

This place is a joke. They say they provide parking for all residents, but they don't. Over half of us are left without a spot, and management is nowhere to be found. They don't answer the phone, and they don't communicate. It's 100 degrees out, and people are forced to park far away and walk back home. It's frustrating and unacceptable. Live Anywhere BUT here! Midtown is hands down the worst apartment complex I have ever dealt with. Ignoring all of the issues that went down before move-in, once we were already inside and paying rent all of the real issues started. The new building on 501 S Ramsey Street was put up so fast it's basically falling apart at the seams. Within the first 3 days, our washing machine broke, next up was the oven and then our sink which flooded the entire kitchen. When I called in a maintenance request I was told it was labeled an "emergency" and someone would be there within 4-6 hours. Fast forward to 48 hours later and not a sole had shown up or even called and the cabinets were beginning to bubble. It took a very stern phone call to get any maintence man to show up and when he did, I was told that our sink looked like a "rushed job" and had spackle around the seal. Two hours later the sink was finally fixed and the oven had been reset. They also seemed to have "lost" my maintenance request for a door lock and I had to beg the maintenance man to send someone out as soon as possible since I was paying $50 extra for it (which blew my mind since your living with other people that door locks were not a given but they try to screw you on money every chance they get). The outside of the apartment complex was looking just as bad, emergency exit signs hanging OUT of the ceilings, elevator buttons hanging out of there sockets, beer cans littering the halls, the smell of weed emanating from rooms, the trash rooms get so full that you can barely even open the doors and dog poo all over the courtyards. Don't let the security guard walking around on move-in day fool you either, you will never see him again. The "garage" that your paying $35 A MONTH for is as wide as a Fiat 500, there have been more near collisions than I can count because 2 cars can not possibly fit down the rows. In addition, they completely sold out the garage, so it's becoming harder and harder to find a spot. The magical "security" guard they promised obviously doesn't check the garage because TONS of people don't have passes and park there all night and day. Come the second week of living here and our water was shut off because of plumbing issues for AN ENTIRE DAY, once that was fixed the water pressure has never been the same, your lucky to get a few drops out before it shuts off again. This week the internet was down for a 5-hour span, it's never-ending. My boyfriends mail key hasn't worked since the day he moved in. Over 3 weeks ago he put in a maintence request for a new one to which the staff told us they "will get handled when they can, they're busy" and to "ask your roommates if you need to get into your mailbox". After 3 failed attempts the key was finally received yesterday, nearly a month after move-in. The walls are so thin that you can hear music being played in a room 3 doors down, running water from the rooms above you and every word your roommates are saying in their own room, even if both of yall's doors are shut because of poor vent design. When you go in and ask to speak with a manager, they will never actually address you or your concerns. The girls at the front desk say "there's no manager here right now" but then disappear into the back and magically come out with a solution. Not to mention management has changed at least THREE times just since I have signed my lease. The magical rooftop pool only goes up to 3 ft deep so don't be expecting to do any real swimming, its more of just a lounging pool that isn't regulated. More times than I can count we've seen people come in that say they don't live or know anyone here and that it's so easy to get in because of it being attached to the garage. After months of searching, I FINALLY found someone to take over my lease so I am free from Midtown but I will warn everyone DONT FALL FOR THE PRETTY APPEARANCE, they're scam artists read more

I have lived in multiple places in my time at Oklahoma State University and midtown is the absolute worst place I have ever lived and hopefully ever will live. The management is absolutely terrible. They don't listen to any maintenance requests and are disrespectful when I try to bring it up to them. They don't care about the tenants and are only looking to take advantage of first time renters. I was really looking forward to a good housing situation with my friends close to campus and when I toured they made it seem so amazing and promised a good living situation. But to my surprise and disappointment it was completely opposite of what they described to me and now we are all not renewing our lease. The company I purchased this (very urgent) package from is not able to give me what I need now thanks to the inconsiderate and rude Midtown staff. I talked to a male at the front desk about it and was so rude to me and treated me like an idiot. I am so disappointed that I wasted my money and time at Midtown in Stillwater. The absolute worst kind of people work here in management. They added in random fees and rules NOT in the lease. They require you pay a FULL months rent when you move out half way through the month. The common areas were disgusting, rent is extremely high for what you get, they have 0 security cameras either. Homeless people are constantly harassing tenants, cars in the "protected" parking garage are being broken into and stolen. Nothing ever works besides the stairs. The amenities are always closed for "repair" and they aren't remotely adequate. They also charge an additional $35 a month for parking even though there are not enough spots and they sell more parking passes than actual parking spots. Maintenance takes forever to fix anything and a majority of the time they don't even fix it. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. read more

I wouldn't recommend living here. They advertise spacious bedrooms but the bedrooms are tiny as well as the living room and kitchen. The walls are paper thin. I could hear when someone above me walks from room to room, exactly what song my next door neighbors are listening to, and every time my upstairs neighbor flushes the toilet. The rent is high. The parking garage is tiny. If I come around the corner and another car is also coming around the corner one car has to back up. The garage was basically built for small cars only. Pickups stick out so far it brings it down to one lane. After every weekend there is significant damage to the hallways and elevators. The garage elevators are broken or shut down at least once a month but most of the time more. Don't waste your money. read more

Do not live here, I was charged an extra 500$ for carpet replacement when the workers up front had told me that the 500$ pet fee included the pets time there and the carpet replacement. But not I am being charged for an extra 500$ which is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone find somewhere else to live it is not worth them over charging for everything and trying to basically steal money from mostly college kids. The hallways were always trashed, mail room was a night mare/ packages being stolen, the workers clearly do not know what is going on. The rent is super high including a 50$ or more parking fee which they are screwing you out of considering you cannot always get a spot there. I never right reviews so you have to sense my frustration. 1st - my son got a dog, paid the $500 pet deposit and of course when he moved out there were some damages. When I called the apartment office to find out how to handle them I was told the damages would come off the deposit and we would be charged for anything over the $500. Not what happened. I received a bill for $625 and was told the deposit was a fee. Also, when we asked about the process to sublet the apartment we were never told there would be a $250 termination fee. We found a new tenant on our own and when I finally threw a fit I was told that that fee would be waived since we did the work ourselves. Nobody in this organization has a clue what is going on. Had I know months ago we could pay $250 to terminate the lease I would have done that rather than pay for an apartment nobody was living in for the last 3 months. This is the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. We were also told my son would need to drive back to Stillwater on Monday after just being there Saturday to sign a form. Apparently the manager was gone and it couldn't be done online. When he gets there he's told it could have all been done online. Seriously! Educate your staff. read more

BEWARE! These apartments are new and look pretty, but they are not honest! They never told me or my son that parking is not included in his rate. The best part was parking may not be included at all! My son could NOT even park where he lives. They do not tell you they have 221 total units with 823 beds. They only have 478 parking spots in the garage and approx. 20 on the street. To park in the garage it's an extra $35 a month. Problem is we were not given the option to purchase a spot or not. We found out from another tenant after move in that if there was not a pass in the welcome packet, then he can't park there. They advertise covered parking garage in the amenity section, along with pool, grill, gym, etc. They do not charge extra for those that I am aware of yet anyway. When I asked why was this not addressed with us I got IDK. When asked why is it not addressed in the lease? I got, it is but it's an addendum to the ones who bought spots. UMMM that doesn't answer why everyone is not educated. I, got IDK. That response was from customer service in another state. We tried speaking to manager in person. She refused to come out and speak with us. I also emailed them with my concerns. They ignored us. I posted a review on their FB. They responded with sorry to hear about my concerns, but they will talk to my son about his. That is great and all, but I am the one who paid 8 months rent in advance. Would have paid 12 if they had told me If I paid with a card I would be charged a drastic amount of fees. I didn't have enough money into the account that I have a checking account to. Now, I have read so many problems from other tenants, I am scared to pay more than I already have. This apartment complex mixes you with other students like a dorm. They do not tell you upfront, but if you want to be able to lock your door when you leave to your room, you must pay $50 to get a lock. My son had to go to a campus lot and buy a more expensive parking pass. When it's summer he isn't even allowed to park there overnight. I can only imagine what else we will find out along the way. Go to Okstate parents FB page and type in Midtown. You will find a lot of unhappy people. I understand they are new and some things have to be figured out, but the dishonesty and lack of respect for my concerns to be addressed, seem beyond unprofessional. It seems to me they have all these young kids sign leases, so they refuse to speak to parents as they know most young adults do not know what to do or how to complain or steps to take to get heard, so things just get dropped and ignored. Think long & hard before considering Midtown as your Son or Daughters Student Community solution. Midtown is all about the mighty dollar instead of the SAFETY of all Tenants. We were told by Leasing Agent Austin that they take the Roommate Match Questionnaire very seriously in respects to age, interests, current hobbies, Degree Programs, etc. only to recently find out they DO NOT take age into consideration. My underage daughter along with 2 of her other roommates have been placed with a 21 almost 22 year old of legal drinking age. I am not a naive parent and understand that there will be situations where my daughter will be required to make the right choices for herself based on how we raised her. Why should I have to pay for her to have to make those choices daily within her own Apartment/Living Space? How is that effective matching of roommates? The lifestyle & foot traffic of a student of legal drinking age is completely different than that of 3 underage students. Midtown did not hold up their end of the Contract; therefore, I made the decision to seek other living arrangements for my daughter one week before move in. Midtown is making me jump through hoops and telling me it is my responsibility to find them a new Tenant. The other 2 underage Students have voiced their concerns as well. read more

I moved in to Midtown with high hopes. Only to find there were cockroaches in the apartment. I reported the issue and they came and sprayed but this did not do the trick. Every morning I would wake up to cockroaches all over the kitchen counter, in the cabinets, on my toilet. Once maintenance finally saw the bugs they said "we need an exterminator" because the problem was that bad. They came to spray but we had to move everything and then proceed to clean up all the dead bugs. This happened in August, it is now February and the issue is still present. When they did a routine check over Christmas break they saw more bugs and decided to go with a new exterminator company, this time giving us traps as well to put out to help with the problem. I went out a bought my own traps to try and help solve the problem. There has been no compensation besides a gift card (how does this help), no offer to move us and me having to continually reach out so something will be done. These bugs are disgusting, they multiply quickly and are very hard to get rid of. I brought all my own furniture and am now worried that when I move out these bugs will follow me. I would not recommend living here- it's taken so much convincing on my part to try and get the problem solved. I should not be paying $500+ to live in a place where I am constantly looking around for the next cockroach. read more

When I signed into a contract 6 months ago I had no idea how TERRIBLE this place would be. Move-in was a joke, nowhere to park, no organization, no help, limited rental times for dollies and only one elevator (that's not freight so if you were trying to get furniture in their good luck). The parking garage is small and oversold so most of the time there is nowhere to park because no one regulates it. The pool is tiny and easily accessible to non-residents. My floor REAKS of weed which many people have complained to management about yet they have done nothing. Most mornings when I wake up I have to wonder if the water is going to work or not because it been out at least 5 times over the last 2 weeks. Internet was shut down for "maintenance" this week, how do they expect college kids to get work done without internet access? My mailbox key hasn't worked since move-in, when I called the customer service line they stated that the front office should have a backup copy of my key. When I went in to ask they said that this is not true and I would need to submit a maintenance request, so I did. Fast forward a week and I had heard nothing and my request had been removed from my account so I went in again. This time the girl told me that the maintenance department is "busy" and to "ask my roommates" if I had mail. Unacceptable. When I asked to speak with the manager, they stated she wasn't willing to come out and if I needed to speak with her it had to be through email. They suggested at this time that I could submit another maintenance request to speed up the process, so I did. Another week went by and I still hadn't heard anything so I went to the desk again where I was once again blown off. Magically the next day I got a text that my key was ready so I went in to pick it up. Upon leaving I realized that this key also DIDNT WORK so I had to go back in once again and submit another maintenance request. After nearly 3 weeks I finally have a working key but never once got approached by the manager to resolve the issue. Not to mention the grounds are always dirty and the trash rooms are nearly impossible to access as they get full throughout the week. The lack of care these people have for there residents is astounding. If it wasn't for the 11-month lease I wouldn't be here any longer and I suggest you don't fall for there games either. let me start by saying that i never write reviews, but this place has been AWFUL & all of the positive reviews i see have been written by people that work here. move to literally anywhere but midtown. i have had nothing but issues with this place since the day i moved in. for the first couple of months i lived here, i had to park my car in an open gravel lot over a mile away from midtown. there was no parking garage, no pool, no gym. there is NO organization or communication that goes on. i have lived here since august of 2018 & there have been at least 4-5 different managers & not a single one of them have been helpful. no one will ever give you a straight answer to your questions. leasing agents know nothing & managers refuse to speak to you. all of my roommates & i pay completely different rent prices, ranging from $645-$800/month for the same thing. i renewed my lease in january & months after my lease was signed, midtown decided to increase parking from $10/month to $35/month. it took me weeks to get any type of answer & the best that they could come up with was "sorry, corporate sets our pricing." this place looks really nice, but was poorly built. all of my roommates had to have maintenance fix drains that don't work properly & sinks with no water pressure. the walls are paper thin & you can hear everything that happens above & beside you. this place will do nothing but give you a headache & empty your bank account. 100% not worth the money. read more
