They have to call out the plumber on a regular basis to clean out these old plumbing lines. There are regular, dangerous gas leaks. Sometimes you can't take a cold shower or cook anything on the stove or turn on the heat in the apartment in the winter because they have to turn off the gas in order to try to trace the leak. There are plumbing problems that cause serious leaks and mold. There are electrical problems where some electrical outlets and lighting simply will not work. The old AC system causes a lot of condensation and mold. That old system gets knocked out everytime there is a lightning strike during a storm. It gets unpleasant in the summer. The have a revolving door for the maintenence people they hire. Almost all of them treat tenants badly and don't want to do anything. When I try to talk to people in the main office, they refuse to behave in a mature and professional manner. The manager called me "rude" to my face for trying to talk to him about unresolved maintentance issues. He doesn't want to be bothered and has lied to my face rather than fix problems. When I leave the main office after trying to talk to them, they start talking about me and laughing at me behind my back before I have even walked out the door. It hurts to be treated so disrespectfully by people who are supposed to take care of these problems. I regret staying here. I only did it because it was close to campus. I should have done something else.

The pool and hot tub are great amenities and definitely a highlight of the property. That being said, the biggest issue is that management doesn't seem to enforce the rules laid out in the lease. The lease says no violent breeds, but I regularly see pit bulls unleashed. Management's line about not being able to do anything because they're "emotional support animals" is just a lousy excuse and simply not true. The grass is usually covered in dog poop because residents know nobody will hold them accountable for not picking up after their pets. On top of that, you can usually get a contact high just walking through the complex from all the weed smoke coming off balconies. Overall, it's a decent place to live and has some great features, but it's frustrating to see management drop the ball when it comes to enforcing their own rules.

This apartment complex thinks it's acceptable to tow VISITOR cars on a Sunday after just one hour of being parked -- during a casual visit to a friend. No warnings, no flexibility, just straight to towing and a $400 impound fee. These are broke college students, not criminals.  No human decency. It's one thing to manage parking. It's another to prey on young people who are simply trying to spend time with friends.  If you're thinking of living here, ask yourself if you want your friends to be afraid to visit you or worse, pay hundreds of dollars just to say hi.  Shame on the management for allowing this kind of predatory behavior. He's put in other work orders for other issues as well, which have all either been not fixed, cancelled or the maintenance staff went to the wrong apartment to fix the issue. The management and maintenance staff are either clueless about how to run an apartment complex, are incompetent or just don't care. My brother has threatened legal action if his birds die due to extreme heat with no AC. The staff sort of twiddle their thumbs. Do not live here. Pay a little extra money and live somewhere worth living. Update: this is now a couple of weeks later, my brother finally got a new AC and not even a week later, it broke again. At first, we loved it, but as time went on, things got more complicated and they were less than willing to help. The office staff is super sweet and I will always say that. However, they DO make you sign up for renters insurance through them, regardless of already having your own policy. Maintenance does NOT fix a thing. From caulking not being around windows to second story porches sagging heavily and moving beneath people's feet. The moisture in these apartments is horrible and there is mold. In the winter, the windows get ice on the inside of them because of how cold it is. The water is always shut off to "fix a leak" or "fix a shower". We've gone 3+ days without water before. Their online website is deplorable and barely functional. The pool is never opened when it should be and is green due to poor up keep. Maintenance will not provide a 24 hours notice and will knock once. If you do not answer, they will let themselves in. There are constant roach infestations regardless of how clean and how many times pest control comes out. There's also wasps outside the side of my hand during the summer. There's constant crackheads outside that bother you while you're outside with your animals. Residents don't know how to keep their dogs on a leash or clean up dog poop. NEVER!!! AGAIN!!!!

Last year I fired my managers and hired Milestone - they inherited a serious disaster. They got rid of a problem tenant, called me with updates, generated floorplans, and solved some major damage issues. They're straight forward, proactive, and honest. But most importantly, they took care of everything in a timely manner and re-rented my home at the worst possible time of the year for 37% more than I was getting before! As a property owner, I couldn't recommend them more strongly for management services. My only problem is that their website isn't well optimized for google, so if I forget what it is, it takes me a minute to find them online.

Thankfully I was able to get a much better place for my final year of college. A 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath, gated backyard and a garage by myself for the price I was paying at Cottage Row with 2 other roommates. My first year, we were told before signing that the pool and club house would be done. It took many more months for that to be completed. I also had to call 911 a few times for shootings in the neighborhood. When I called, they said they had many others reporting hearing gun shots and crazy parties are normal here. I had mold in my bedroom directly behind my bed and was told it would be $600 to have someone come test it (which I had already paid for on my own to see the types of mold in my room. As well as treating it myself to save money.) My bathroom window had to be fixed 3 separate times because when it rained water would pour in, leaving damage on the walls. The dumpsters are constantly over filling and everyone ends up throwing their trash on the ground. For me that was very dangerous with having a dog. They also say this is a "gated community" but I had to use my gate key maybe 10 times in the 2 years I lived there. If you don't care about these things, then it's a decent place. The pool is nice, hot tub often doesn't work. Nice gym and clubhouse now that it has been renovated. Maintenance is extremely nice but most of the times when I had to get ahold of the office/ management for a serious issue I would have my parents who are the co-signers call. Somehow they are usually told something completely different than what I was told. They will rip you off for a lease take over, charging $750 for your lease as well as $750 for the person taking over, BUT it was well worth the money spent to be finally out of there! Avoid if you can at all cost! Cottage Row will rip you off, tell you many different things and is not a trust worthy place.

That was supposed to be a bill from couple months ago and they just now billing. My personal house in 4 times bigger than the house my student lives in and it has never been this much and I keep my house on very cold. I am filling an attorney general claim against them! Any attorney that want to get a claim against them, lets talk! This can be a class action because I'm not the only one, they are doing it to everyone!
