I paid $400 expecting my fireplace to be functional again. The technician cleaned it but left without fixing the issue, stating that his boss would follow up with a quote for additional repairs. After hearing nothing, I've followed up multiple times via email and phone, only to receive no response. I still have no information on what's wrong with the fireplace or what the next steps are to get it working. Don't waste your time with a company that not only disregards customer service but also seems uninterested in completing the job they were hired for. read more

I talked to the team at Midtown in August -- and sent them a deposit in September. Today - the company pulled out as they are not comfortable in putting in a 240 electric fireplace. Shame on me - I should have backed out earlier. I could neer get the team to respond in a timely basis -- quote was late, coordination with electrician was non-existent .... it seemed I needed to chase them qround for everything. But at least my house won't burn down now ... glad they pulled out (I should have fired them 6 weeks ago). Frankly -- not a very happy customer. read more

Our chimney cap blew off in a recent windstorm. We called a few different chimney companies and couldn't speak to a live person, messages weren't answered. When I reached out to Midtown Chimney Sweeps I spoke with a person right away. She notified me that their services were booked out a few weeks but I scheduled anyway. I got a call two days later stating that a tech in the area had a cancellation and was able to see us immediately. This worked perfect. The total bill was under the estimated price and our tech Jeff was very thorough and friendly. Highly recommend this company! read more

We scheduled a video inspection and cleaning for a chimney in our 1900 historic home. The inspector called to say he was running little late which I appreciated. When he arrived he was clean and very polite. He looked up the chimney with a flashlight from the inside and told us it looked pretty clean, but only half the chimney was lined. Since they can't do that kind of work he gave us the name of a company that could. After the flashlight inspection, he went outside where he looked up at the chimney from the ground and thought there might be some mortar that needed replacing. That was it. No video inspection... No ladder to inspect the outside... Only a bill that seemed high for the amount of time and effort. Now we still need to have another company come by to inspect and make repairs. read more

Scheduled a chimney sweep. On arrival, their worker advised against doing a sweep as the fireplace insert is not up to code. Recommended instead getting a quote for a liner install and hooked up. While I appreciate this help -- at the end I was charged $135 for an inspection. The worker did not let me know about this charge until after the inspection was done. As a customer I expect to be asked if I would like to spend a large amount of money before the work is performed. While this inspection fee is to be creditted if I have future work performed by the company, locking a customer in like that isn't particularly friendly. read more

These people cleaned my chimney and then sent a report saying not to use my stove. With no remediation recommendations...nothing! I've called and called trying to get answers. They told me they'd make sure someone called me back and said they'd mark the call urgent. Still no word. Unbelievable! It cost 319$ to get a very unclear report back from them. Very frustrating. It's cold. I want to use my stove. And I can't. And it's been very anxiety producing. I don't think I'd recommend them. read more

Was able to get a fireplace inspection scheduled pretty quickly after the purchase of a home. Went smoothly and it was found our chimney was missing the damper. Accepted the quote and scheduled installation 3 weeks out to allow for the part to be delivered. Quickly during the installation appointment it was found the damper was the wrong size, standard size was ordered but our chimney is a bit smaller. Was told we would hear back when the correct size was ordered. Few days go by with no word, so I reached out. Pretty much told to make something out of wood and foam to stuff up the chimney since they couldn't find the right size. Terribly disappointed. Now I'm starting from scratch with a different company who said they can order the part no problem, but of course need to pay for an additional inspection. In sum, inspection: great, service thereafter: no so much. read more

I set an appointment and had to wait a week for a technician to clean and service a gas fireplace. The tech showed up and promptly told me that he would need help from another tech because the fireplace was 12 years old and he didn't know how to service it. He said he would schedule to come back the next week. This service was for a real estate transaction and I was not able to wait another week. If the technician is only qualified for fireplaces younger than 10 years, the operator on the phone should have asked how old the fireplace was. I did receive a follow up call and text with an apology and an attempt to reschedule with an experienced tech as well as a detailed explanation of the corrective measures that would be taken. I did not have the flexibility to take them up on their offer as I had already booked another company. This effort was appreciated although the nature of the incident did seem to me to speak to a broader systemic problem. read more

The manager of this business called me to apologize after reading my review. He also refunded the $100 and insisted on making things right. I appreciate that he made an effort and called a couple times to see if they could be of further service. Since I can't actually speak to their quality of work, I'm changing my review to a 3-star to not put a negative impact on their overall rating. read more

Back in on the 2th of March in 2016, I reached out to get my gas fireplace serviced because it seemed to be having trouble. When the technician came out he up sold us on a cleaning and we took him up on the offer. Since he seemed nice we asked him if he could help us with a couple of wood burning fireplaces that needed cleaning and new damper put on. He gave us an estimate and we wrote him a check. At that point I had to leave but I and he called me later saying that he did not have the correct tools to take the glass off my gas fireplace. But the other fireplaces had been cleaned that the new dampers had been ordered. I was told that he would be back in one week to install the dampers and finish the cleaning on my gas fireplace. After a week and a half I called and found out that the parts had been backorder and would get updated when they came in. Also that they were out of cream to clean the glass in my gas fireplace so they would do all the work when the parts came in. A few weeks later I called again and they say they are coming out but did not show. In the first week in April I reach out again, to find out what was happening and I am told that they are coming out to do the work that week. When they get there I get a call that they cannot put on the dampers because there is a tree in the way. So they need a lift truck to do the install. Also that they cannot clean my gas fireplace because the gas line is in the wrong spot because it was installed incorrectly. At which point I wonder why this is the first I am hearing of this. Because the original reason that they were there was to check out my gas fireplace. To make sure it was all working and installed correctly. That was a Friday and after thinking it over, we decided that we would rather have a refund for the work undone. So we called and ask for a refund check. After two weeks I finally am able to talk with the technician again and am told that the check will be sent out as soon as possible. The next week towards the end of the week I called again and am told that the check is in the mail. That was the last week in April. After another week the check is still not with us and we called again and threatened legal action. The next day we had a check which was May 7th, on a side note we also got the other check in the mail only $100 short of what we were owed. But on a good note the Midtown Chimney Sweeps corporate head reached out to me on May 11th and asked to complete the service on my gas fireplace. He came and did the job very professionally and asked about the experience that I had with his company to this point. He also said he would look into training the personnel at the Denver office so this should not happen in the future. So I am moving my review from a 1 star to a 2 star. read more
