Wouldn't touch this place with a 10 foot pool cue. READ THIS ALL, sorry for the long story
Hot tub #2 - The salesman from our first hot tub had been fired, apparently due to countless instances of very bad experiences and deals gone bad. We decided to take the store manager up on an offer to repair a damaged relationship. In exchange for another chance at business, they gave us a deal on a new hot tub. It was delivered on time, and filled the next day. I called and asked about the valves because they were so stiff, that I didn't want to turn them, fearing that with plastic would break. They said that that is normal, and to just turn them. I drove to the store later and asked them to come look at them, and was told again to just turn them. So I went home, and turned the valve next time I sat in it, guess what, it broke. So I went back, and told them, and demanded that someone come out and look at it as initially requested TWICE. I was told that I cannot turn them with the jets running. THEY WERENT RUNNING. So the tech came out, and guess what, he went to turn another valve, with the jets all off, AND HE BROKE A SECOND ONE!!!!!!.
Fast forward a bit, I made darn sure to clarify that the broken valve stuff was going to be covered under the warranty. I was told yes, yes yes, don't worry. Well, after looknig at the financing statement, they charged us, FOR BOTH VALVES!! Remember, the stores tech broke the second one, and they charged us for it!
The regular financing tatements started being emailed 15-45 times per day, instead of once a month, that was strange.
The final straw with hot tub number 2. The temp never felt right, and I was assured from the beginning that different hot tubs just have a different feel. Well, I finally stuck a digital thermometer in the hot tub. It said 100 degrees, and the hot tub display said that it was 104. If you know hot tub temps, thats a big difference. 100 is cool, and 104 is very hot. So, on another trip to the store to have the broken valves removed from our bill, (this took several vists, each time was assured that it would be corrected.) I asked the owner to help with this temp issue. He grapped the tech, and the two of them discussed how to test it, and how to repair it. (the owner also assured me that the broken valves were off the bill for good,) The tech said he would be out in the next two weeks. I thought that was strange, since we live on the other end of town. So, over a month has gone by, and haven't heard from them yet. I think that its quite convenient that the warranty is up in days.
I finally found the phone number to the factory, and they are sending me parts, and gave me instructions on how to conduct the repairs myself. Also, the man at the factory told me that it doesn't matter if the jets are on or not. So that was a lie!
Hot tub #1 - First hot tub was delivered late, weeks late. Then setup was MONTHS late, months. It took multiple, regular visits to the store and calls to get the hot tub setup, which is included with the purchase.
Then, I asked if they had a slow release device for chlorine that I saw on the internet. One reason was that when kids would have friends over, the chemicals would get out of wack. The response from the sales man was that the kids either need to take responsibility for doing the chemicals, or shouldn't be allowed to use it.
The salesman offered a further discount on the hot tub if we went with his buddy the electrician. So the salesmann arranged the whole electrical part. They had to run about 75 feet of wire from the other end of the house. They electrician would have to return in the spring to burry the cable. We payed for it all at one time. Guess what? In the spring time, the electrician refused to come burry the cable. He had every excuse under the sun. He told me he remembered the whole deal they made at the time of purchasing the hot tub. But told me it wouldn't be that hard to dig the trench myself. I demanded that he follow through with his deal that they made us, he said that I could take him to court if I wanted him to burry the cable that we already payed him to do, but also said that it would be pretty had to do withouit a receipt. I went to midnight sun to get help, funny, his buddy the salesman wouldn't help. That was very very very expensive to pay for burring the cable. So years later, the cable is still sitting on my lawn, and my blood pressure is going to give me a stroke everytime that I look at it.
I persued the idea of taking the electrician and his partner in crime to court for the expense of having someone else finish the job, but the court process would cost me about the same as just paying someone more honest to come do it. read more
