We have now had 4 leases, with the last 2 at Middletown Nissan, and both times now we've had good experiences. I can't speak for others but we are overly satisfied with our experience here a month ago. Carlos Barassa negotiated our purchase and went above and beyond our expectations. He was pleasant to negotiate with, and ended up selling us a Rogue! He was knowledgeable about the car and all its features. For the month we have now had the car, the auto has performed as he reported it would, and is becoming the favorite of the four cars we leased over the years. We owe a great deal of thanks to Carlos. Sara Chamma, is the Business Manager who prepared our financing and was also a major player in our final decision. Very professional with a deep understanding of how to run her position, and she has a sweet personality as well, which is very helpful to people who are spending a lot of money. Everything moved with alacrity from beginning to end, and we spent the least amount of time here than at any of the other trade-ins. I also can not say enough good things about their finance woman, (her name begins with an N and I do not want to butcher it) she spent HOURS with me that night helping with prices, insurance, etc. she was an saint and a very, very smart woman. Where do I even start? I leased a 2024 Altima because I had negative equity in my current car at the time. Leasing was my only way out of it. I feel so stupid now because I thought I was getting a good deal and got fkd big time. When it was time to sign everything with the finance dept all these extra fees all of a sudden came up and they told me it was almost 7k down. 7k down on a lease with 770 credit score on a basic ALTIMA?! This wasn't even the platinum it was the basic model. I feel like a fool now but I was there literally all day long on my one day off and pretty much needed a new car because mine was no longer reliable. That's how they get you. As a woman I never should've came alone. I told them I could put $2k down and we get in that office and everything changed. Also the service dept is extremely rude, after getting into it with them (the girl was literally arguing with me) I won't give them another dollar. I have always had good experiences at Middletown Nissan and have always been treated well but yesterday I was treated exceptionally well as I had to purchase a used car for my teenaged daughter. Upon entry the staff was professional and very polite. We had a salesman named Dustin approach us and everything about him was very unlike a typical "car salesman". He was knowledgeable and really listened to our needs instead of looking out for his sale. He showed us a car that we really liked and ended up buying. He then did the things he's trained to do like offering us to perhaps consider leasing a car (no way Jose) but as soon as we declined he was very understanding and was not at all pushy. Ok it has literally been 2 months since I purchased a vehicle here. They took a $1,000 deposit on a credit card and neglected to apply it to my down payment. I have spoken to 4 different people now and still have not received a refund. It has gone back and forth between them crediting my card and issuing a check as a refund. While the secretarial staff have been nothing but pleasant and as helpful as they can be this is RIDICULOUS. Buyer beware as I feel like they do this on purpose - hoping I would miss this error when you sign your purchase agreement on a tiny tablet. I wonder how many people have missed this. I worked with a lot of great sales reps, they are not to blame!! I originally gave this dealership 5 stars but unfortunately feel the need to change it to a 1 star due to fraud. I had leased a car back in 2021 and bought it out 4 months ahead of schedule (6/2024 instead of 10/2024). I signed the contract and made a check that included the 4 additional lease payments. Long story short, an additional lease payment was taken out of my bank account after the contract had been signed. When I asked them, they told me numerous times that I'd receive a refund check in the mail. Fast forward 4 months, I never received anything, but when I contacted Nissan finance, they claimed my account wasn't closed until 7/2024 and that everything balances out. The DMV clerk cut me off consistently and hung up the phone. Unfortunately this means the dealership kept my lease payment. I asked several times for a copy of my signed paperwork which I have not received. Anyways, I thankfully ended up getting my money back when I contacted my bank and let them know the situation (shoutout to BOA) but I am frustrated because I really did like them and was planning on buying my Nissan Z in 2026...just won't be doing that anymore. Update 10/10: We spoke to the bank that Nissan works with directly, they told us our check includes 4 lease payments - However an extra payment was taken out of my account...and this has been CONFIRMED officially by the bank. Here's an update. The owner's manual says my Rogue Sport takes 4 quarts of oil with a filter change. The dealership charged me for 6 quarts. When I asked about this, Nate said they usually charge for 5 quarts, because they use 4.7 quarts, and have to charge for 5 when they use any amount over 4 (like as if they open a can of perishable liquid instead of taking from a drum). One problem with this explanation is that 4.7 would be harmful to the motor and would show up on the dipstick, but the dipstick always shows full or just under full when I check it after a change. Now they say my next change is free. They don't get it! I am not asking for a free oil change, (although the correct fix would have been to return the cost of the two charged but unused quarts, instead of requiring me to return to let them service my car in order to be reimbursed)! I am asking for honesty and sound business practice. Middletown Nissan is consistently charging too much by saying they put in 4.7 quarts when they don't. While charging for 6 is over the top, charging for 5 is likewise dishonest, especially when they are using 4 and claiming 4.7. So as I sit here in my driveway listening to my door open alarm going off, I am reminded about my interaction with the service manager at nissan of Middletown. Not good. I brought my car in there for a safety recall. They did that part successfully. I asked them if they could simply replace an $8 driver's side door sensor that was broken. I had the part. It was one screw. I would have been ok with them charging me labor. I also had more work beyond that My washer reservoir motor was not working. I needed it replaced. I couldn't even get to that point with the service manager. Instead he felt it was important to call me out in front of his entire service department that apparently it wasn't my $8 door sensor that was broken, why, after 5 seconds of looking at my car door, the service manager stated it was my door that was broken. Not the $8 door sensor. So I begged with him, can you simply just install this anyhow since this is a common issue with my car. The seat belt buckle will sometimes break the sensor. Its a common issue. Instead he called me out in front of anyone and walked off stating 'I guess you know better than me'. Well sir, I may be old but I am a veteran. Is it Middletown nissan's policy to make a jack ass out of veterans? You had ONE JOB you had to do. Had the car less than a week and the serpentine belt went another week later the power steering pump went that they had just replaced come to find out it was the lines that needed to be replaced. Zero. As a Nissan Leaf owner, the super chargers are supposed to be accessible to customers who NEED to charge. First of, 90% of the time there's a car blocking the chargers. Second, you now have to pay to use the super charger which in hindsight isn't that bad HOWEVER, no one knows how to fix this damn machine. Since converting it to a pay system, no one on staff knows the damn code that is required to activate the charging. There's also a on the card reader that says "Cash Only." How in the hell is a card reader that accepts cards only capable of taking cash? There's no slots for coins or bills. I purchased a 2014 Nissan Xterra on 10/1/2014 and within 2 months, the electronics (Radio, Navigation & Bluetooth) stopped functioning on fine evening. I called the dealership and got an appointment scheduled. As much as my vehicle was ready on time and did not have any issues considering it has only been 2 months since i purchased it, the service personnel misplaced my keys when i went to pick my vehicle. That was UNACCEPTABLE. He asked me if I live close by to go grab the spare key from home. I said no and then he decided to make me a spare key. Then got me a spare key in about 15 minutes of waiting. I was asked to bring my spare key at home for them to configure it to the new key that was given. So, i get to the dealership the next day to get the spare key configured. I was told it would take about 15 minutes to get it done and even after an hour I was still waiting. When I went to find out what was going on, the gentleman who was assisting me was busy on the phone assisting to someone else. I kept waiting at his desk and that is when the manager of service asked me why was i waiting there. When I explained to him is when my case was being attended to. Seriously, after over an hours wait my case was not attended to. SO DISAPPOINTED. I was told that in a week they will call me back if they spot my lost keys at the dealership or they will make me another keys to replace the lost one. I have not heard anything yet and I feel very let down for this is the very first service for the new vehicle purchased from here. They flat out lied to me about getting 2 free oil changes when I leased a 2023 Nissan Altima from them, and on top of that as a customer who had 2 previous leases with them, they tried to legally rob me when getting this last lease.... When I went in to get my 3rd lease from middletown nissan the paperwork said I'd pay $2000 down for a $300 a month on a 2023 nissan Altima. After talking with the financial women at the dealership when she brought up the totals she said my total for the new lease would be $4200. I told her I was only putting $2000 down, she responded with yes, but there's $2200 in fees on top of that $2000 down. First off I've been leasing for about 10 years now and I've NEVER had to pay fees to get out of a lease and into a new one, I argued with her and told her there was no way I'm paying that, and that I'm not putting $2000 down anymore. So she ran the numbers with no downpayment and to my surprise, with 0 down the payments would be $290 a month. I asked her how that was possible and she told me she'd have to speak with a manager. She left and never came back, instead another women came in and was suppose to finish my contract. I asked what happened to the other lady and she said she got stuck in a meeting(aka she messed up and now they sent this lady in to finish the signing). I told her that the $2200in fees was ridiculous and that I've never had to pay any fees before. She told me there new and that they couldn't budge on them. So I told them there must be a mistake I got it from here. After he checked the vin, then my name came up. Long story short with the manager, apparently the girl who i was dealing with no longer worked there and that there was nothing in there system about the 2 oil changes. I asked him why would I make that up and he gave me the political answer of, "we'll look at it from our point of view". I was already frustrated with this place because of my last encounter here and now this, I asked him if there was anything he could do and he said his hands were tied and that his boss who could do something had the day off and that he would have him call me tomorrow morning about getting reimbursed for the oil change today. I got tired of arguing with him so I just him sure and he gave me his card if I needed anything. We'll tommorow came(which is today) and I was waiting for a call all morning while at work and got nothing. When I got out of work at 1pm I gave his number a call and it went straight to voicemail. I then called the dealerships number and asked to speak to the general manager in regards to what happened yesterday and they said he was in a meeting and to leave a message. So I did and it's not 4:30pm and still havnt received anything back. If you reading this and thinking about coming here, do not come. They are crooks and liars and don't care about the customers, even if your on your 3rd lease with them. I will never do business with them again once this lease is up. read more
