Everyone that works there very polite. The place is clean. They take their time and their patient with their clients. The doctor did not rush us out the room did not rush the process and did not try to throw other suggestions and payments and try to make people pay for more as a matter of fact, I am the one who suggested bloodwork for my puppy because he said my puppy was just fine, but I'm just a little bit nervous about that but this place 9 out of 10. these are real professional doctors love this place. My daughter took her turtle for an appt and trying to follow up with an appt was terrible. After several cancellations and rescheduling she finally got her turtle there only to be told that she was perfectly healthy and strong. Friday she started making noises I went to make an appt nothing available until September. She died this morning. I'm finding it hard to believe that she was perfectly strong and healthy as told by this vet. I know that people make mistakes but I can't help but feel like if we had a proper diagnosis and medication we could have saved her. read more

I've been using Middletown Animal Clinic for 20+years. They've helped me with my two boy cats through many health issues over the years and my boys lived to be 16 and 18 years with the help of Dr Earle and Dr Ross who were both excellent and very fair with their treatment and diagnoses. Be careful if you decide to use this clinic. If they prescribe medication check the retail price before buying it from them. Many pet supply companies now have prescription medication. ie Petco, Chewy, Petsmart etc. Middletown veternary prescribed antibiotic eye drops for my dogs eye infection and charged me $57. I found over a dozen different retail online pet suppliers that charge $11-$14 for the exact same medication. Ask what they are prescribing and check the price online first. They charged me over 4x the average retail price. read more

Dr A. has been taking care of our family dogs for years. When he left the practice on Long Island we didn't think twice but to leave with him!! He has become our friend and there is no one we trust more with our four legged children!!! Although Middletown is a tad pricey, it's manageable. The staff is welcoming, accommodating and so lovely. I admit that I am a crazy dog mom and they are totally ok with that. They do not show any annoyance and they're actually quite patient with me. My sweet Maggie is 12 years old and I worry about her these days. The staff is so comforting when I call to ask questions or have concerns. My pets were patients with the DrE. when he 1 st started . I was a new pet owner. He was condescending. When my baby got sick , He charged me over $800 to have him put down . One of the nurses there told me to have the ashes checked . I didn't. I had just got home from Dessert Storm . Just diagnosed with PTSD. I was afraid that the ashes I still have was not real . Till this day CJs ashes appears different from the other. God was on his side at that time . After I told my story , I found out that the great Dr E though may be racist., was just a nasty individual when confronted by anyone who him deems inferior. Years ago I used this vet. The clinic came highly recommended. Doing rescue I sometimes took these dogs there. It never failed, any issues I was told they could not do anything. These issues were not serious, just dealing with a dog who is older. The last time I was there, I had a 1 year old chihuahua who was blind. I took him there due to his knees on his back legs. The vet asked me what was I planning to do with this senior dog. She had the previous vet records and I showed the vet his very white teeth. She told me their clinic could not treat this dog. And that was the last time I went there My neighbor who went to this vet for more than 15 years, needed an emergency appt for their dog. Her elderly owner (her older children also took care of this pup as they lived with their mom. Due to falling, the EMT's were called. With all the chaos, it looked like she was stepped on and in pain. They called the vet and they could give an appt a few days away. Hearing this I was able to get this pup in for an emergency appointment. Great place for healthy pets but in my opinion find a vet that can deal with health or physical concerns. read more

Let's start off with Horrible service, my appointment was for 2:30 PM. I left work early just to get there on time . I sat there until 330 because they forgot about me. but you didn't forget to overcharge me right away $600 down the drain. All they do is try to sell you products that can make your pet sick. also, very unprofessional they shut down because their building is contaminated with God knows what. They didn't notify anybody for two days.The doctor that I dealt with she was extremely rude and very pushy. she also insulted my friends who are veterinarians in other states. if you do go there, maybe you might want to deal with another doctor. Firstly, Upon arrival I discovered that pet owners are not allowed in the clinic whatsoever, which was NOT indicated to me upon making my appointment. I was forced to trust that my dog would be safe taken to whatever back room they have for visits while I waited outside. I understand that due to the pandemic and CDC guidelines, certain protocol needs to be taken , however I felt as though they are not considering pet owners (or nervous pets) with this rule and an alternative protocol can be implemented on their end. Secondly, upon arrival I discovered the vet visit was more money than was indicated to me on the phone which I specifically asked when making the appointment, and when I indicated that to the young lady she said "oh, I don't know what to tell you." Thirdly, the doctor apparently just calls You from the vet room and doesn't even make it a point to talk to you face to face. I guess he is too good to go outside while pet owners have to wait outside. It was very impersonal and I had to hear news about my dog DURING A SCHEDULED VET visit over the phone while I was outside the clinic. This makes no sense. I will not be returning here. read more

I am new to the area and was in search of a new vet, after my dog was acting a little strange they fit me in right away the following day (I called right before they closed). Everyone was super pleasant on the phone, and very helpful, I did see a lot of negative reviews about the "reception" staff- I did not encounter that at all. My doggo and I were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome, Dr Earle and the staff escorted a dog away that was aggressive towards mine and they had a little dust up with my pup ending with a scratch on her nose. We were taken to the clean exam room where Regina and Dr Ross took care of us, they were so calm it immediately put my dog at ease. I have honestly never seen her so calm at the vets before. I cannot express how thankful I am for the quick, friendly, and amazing service! I brought my beloved cat, roommate of over 10 years, here to be put down. Since i had my son, she'd become increasingly disruptive, to the point of attacking people (the baby included) and urinating wherever was convenient. I tried many corrective measures, to no avail. I was heartbroken to have to do this, but no one i knew could take in a cat, and several people told me that i'd have no luck doing a stranger adoption if i was honest about her behavior. I decided it was best to own up to my responsibilities to her and take her in myself, instead of dumping her at a shelter to live in misery for a few days and then be put down by strangers. When we arrived at Middletown, we were greeted by a friendly front desk clerk who rather respectfully handled the paperwork necessary for the euthenasia. This was a stark contrast to the vet herself, who, when apprised of the situation, said, "We don't normally do that for behavior problems," in a rather condescending tone, adding, "But i guess we can this time, since there's a baby involved." Once i burst into tears at this behavior, she toned it down a little. But still, i'll never willingly set foot in this vet's office again, nor ever refer anyone here. Taking a loved pet in to be put down is an extremely painful thing, and being treated dismissively by a vet (who apparently assumed i was overreacting to minor behavioral issues that i'd taken no efforts to correct) is inexplicable and cruel. read more

I brought my 10 year old rabbit here twice, and we will NOT be returning. I live 2 blocks away and was so happy to find a vet that saw rabbits so close by. Scheduling appts was pretty simple and the wait time was never long. The women at the front aren't very friendly or welcoming. They don't seem very enthused to be working every time i've been there. I saw both doctors who see exotics, I cant remember their names but one is male and the other female. The first time I saw the man, and he was friendly and sweet with my rabbit. He listened to all of my concerns and answered my questions. I felt the appointment was rushed though. The second time I saw the woman, and I was very unhappy with this visit. First off, the assistant did NOT know how to properly hold a rabbit. The doctor was teaching her during the appointment. It is very dangerous for rabbits to not be properly restrained, and there were 2 occasions during the appointment where Baby kicked so hard I was genuinely terrified for her safety. When I expressed my concern, the doctor told me "to relax" with a nasty attitude. She also cut my rabbits nails with a human nail clipper....why dont they have cat or dog nail clippers?! The doctor gave me general answers to my questions and kept giving me attitude. She continued to blame all of her ailments to old age, which may be true to an extent, but she was not saying this with much empathy and I felt she was trying to get me to shut up. I love my rabbit dearly and was just trying to make sure there was nothing I was doing to contribute to her issues and if I could do anything to soothe her. She continued to remind me that Baby has "passed her expiration date", which was not comforting at all. She also told me that they don't do bloodwork for rabbits, when it is essential to their overall health and all of the other exotic vets I have contacted ALWAYS recommend bloodwork. After the 2nd time my rabbit freaked out, I got very angry and upset and the doctor just WALKED out of the room. She said "We'll see you in the front" and never came out. No goodbye...no medicine or advice on what to do about an infected nipple she had diagnosed my rabbit with. While it may be cheap, I would never skimp on the quality of my rabbits care. My rabbit was very stressed for hours after the appointment and while they frightened very easily, she was not handled properly and she could have injured herself. They say they see tons of rabbits but I honestly dont believe it. Spend your money on an actual rabbit specialist that won't disrespect you and your concerns. read more

These guys have always been really great. We never have a hard time getting an appointment, and there is rarely much of a wait when we arrive for it. The staff is quite friendly and you can tell the vets here love your animals as much as you do. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it after having some AWFUL experiences with a few other vets in the area. I stopped bringing my dog here because of Dr. Earle & because they are a bit pricey. Any dog will naturally freak out at the vet but he tried to prescribe "tranquilizer pills" for my dog because he couldn't "calm him down". You're telling me you're a licensed veterinarian & you don't know how to calm a 22lbs pug/terrier? I'm a vet tech myself & clearly it's not a difficult task. After I told Dr. Earle I'm not interested in the pills, he STILL had it added to my bill & ran my card on file! It took me weeks to get my money back! On top of that I never GOT the pills & they were $100! My first visit was with a female veterinarian & it was the most amazing experience ever but I haven't seen her since. read more

Iv being going here for 5 years. A few months back my cat had gotten very sick. I called the office and told them my Cat was not moving much and I needed to bring him ASAP. They informed me they had no openings that week and I would need to wait until the following week. I explained the situation again and they still refused to get me in. I asked for the nurse (Nancy)I knew, she also said they had no room. I again explained how important it was to see the doctor. And again I was told they had no room for me. In tears I begged but got zero help. I'm disgusted by how they just didn't seem to care. I will never go back to this place and found another doctor who took me that day. Westchester Animal Hospital was amazing. They are the best! I am still in shock that Middletown treated me that way. No matter how many people they had they should have found room for me! My cat was very sick but the doctor at Westchester animal hospital treated him and he got better. He could have died. Please don't use this place. They just don't care about your pets. I'm not exactly sure why the bad reviews because I had a great experience with Dr. Earle and her staff. My dog has bad allergies and I had to take her to get meds for it. Dr. Earle was extremely professional and explained the allergy was not just an allergy, but a fungus, something my previous vet, which was horrible, was unable to tell me. She is a bit on the expensive side, but she was great with my dog, explained thoroughly everything I needed to know and at the end of the day, like anywhere else, you pay for what you get.
