As an owner of two cats, I was shocked by how overpriced and unaccommodating this location felt. I took my cat to the vet because he was ripping his hair off and tearing his skin. They charged us over $500 for vet visits and meds and we had to take him back two weeks later, $800 later finally my cat was seen by a licensed vet that gave him an injection that calmed the itching and discomfort my baby boy was going through. Needless to say I was very unhappy with the services and pricing they offered us for our cat. They charge $40 plus tax just to cut the cat nails, which already raised a red flag. But the real blow came when fixing my male cat cost $500 and my female cat $800, a price that felt more like exploitation than care. Despite paying so much, the wait times were painfully long, and I practically had to beg for a simple treat to calm my anxious pets. For a place that claims to care, why does every basic check-up price wise feel like a luxury service but the actual service is nowhere near? Why does compassion come at such a high cost? I'm writing this to warn other pet owners: be prepared for steep prices and slow service. Your pets may leave treated eventually, but your wallet will definitely leave hurting at every visit.

RIP Max I'll always love you my best friend am always miss you until we meet again

My wife took my puppy for a check up cause where we got him from we rescue him from a no good home and they didn't even give him a check up unless we made a payment first now we lost him last night. Sad but true

    Initial cast wrapping

My dog needed to have her nail declawed as it split and the quick was completely outside of the nail. After much research I decided to go to this vet (based on cost and care reviews. I am glad I decided to go here - I got my appointment early and they saw ginger within 20-25 mins. The initial exam is $99 and the vet recommended the declawing with minor sedation. Since I had medication of my own, the total price was very reasonable. The staff was super helpful and patient. It does get a bit crowded but definitely worth the wait. Based on other vet clinics I've been to, this was definitely the best in terms of pricing and quality.

My pet had a visit checkup and vaccines. Everyone loved her and handled her with care. The staff is so cool and lovely, please have patience with them when they have many pet emergencies. Very affordable as well! Loved the vet Dr. Richie and the assistant Sussie

My cat Maximilian was blocked and needed help, I was given an appointment for the vet to check him out, paid $70, the vet i know what's wrong with him and he's critical and need immediate hospitalization. They where more concerned about payment than helping Maximilian and despite my crying my eyes out and calling everyone in an effort to get help, all they did was give me a bill for over $3,000, and printout of low income clinics and hospitals that offered no help. So I was sent home with Maximilian and he was grasping for air, he died at 3:00pm. Worse experience ever, they cared more about immediate payment than making a payment plan with me and treating my poorfur baby, now he's dead. ,

Today, we took our baby as we always have to Bronx Veterinary. The family that he has gained at this clinic is amazing. I have trusted this place in since he was three months old. He is now ten years young. He has been having a tough couple of days. We took him in today and they treated him like a king. What made today different is that he met a new family member (Suzy.) She was such a breath of fresh air. Understanding, kind and compassionate. Stitch was calm with her. Then, his uncle Dr.Katz came in and sealed the deal. He knew Stitch like the back of his hand. Treated him and Stitch did not even notice. He is a magician. My baby is doing very well right now. Once again, Ty!

This is Kato he had eye surgery there

The staff is so friendly and love all their furry friends they can get a little busy but it's worth the wait prices are reasonable the doctors and staff members go all out for their patients. I had such a nice experience with them. I will recommend this veterinarian to everyone that I know. My cats doctors name is Dr. Robert, thank you for all you've done

My cat was in last week with Dr. Kiani for some behavioral things to address and exposed his anal glands when getting examined. Since then, I've noticed some dripping at home so I called the vet. They suggested I bring him in ASAP. Flash forward to today and my experience could not have been worse. Dr Colon made me feel stupid and disregarded. She told me I was confusing the anal gland problem with diarrhea. She did a rectal exam and my cat was FREAKING out and to have to watch that was awful as his mama. I started crying and she made me feel bad for that. I felt like she didn't care about me or my baby at all. We will unfortunately not be coming back to this vet. Besides the awful experience today, I always wait longer than an hour no matter the time and it's very expensive. Such a shame because the nurses are great, Dr. K is wonderful and the front desk is kind, but Dr. Colon ruined our experience. I highly suggest avoiding this place or at least Dr. Colon if you can.

I was a long-time client, and this last experience was disturbing enough that I've ended the relationship completely. In my view, this clinic is very quick to upsell and mark up fees when clients are vulnerable and under time pressure. I came in on 5/5/26 for an international health certificate and USDA endorsement for my psychiatric service dog. I sent all information up front, including that I have a documented disability and a prescription for a psychiatric service dog. Instead of handling that professionally, staff repeatedly talked to me as if I was trying to "game the system," saying things like "when people come, they bring a letter," and pushed back when I tried to preserve some privacy. Once I did provide the letter I had the entire time, the owner's first move was to try to add extra, unrelated services that were not required, and then imply she'd "mark things OK" on the certificate as if she was doing me a favor. The invoice tells its own story: $81 for the exam and $17 for medication, but then $189 for the "International Health Certificate," $238 for "USDA electronic endorsement VEHCS," and another $189 for "USDA Rabies Certificate Endorsement," for a total of $714. USDA's own fee schedule for endorsement is far lower than what they labeled as "USDA" endorsement charges, and they had already added a separate clinic fee for their services. In my opinion, that is an outrageous markup of what are presented as federal endorsement costs, especially when a disabled client is relying on them to follow the rules. The endorsement itself was processed by the USDA the same day it was submitted on 5/5. I did not hear anything from the clinic on 5/6 or 5/7 -- no proactive update, no documents, and no word about the "refund" they had told me I might receive depending on what USDA charged. I had to chase them for basic information and for copies of documents that I needed, regardless of any fee dispute. Only after I escalated did I get a voicemail from the owner claiming they had been "disputing with USDA," which had never been communicated earlier. The office manager also tried to tell me the VEHCS system "asks for a letter" as if that justified their resistance, when in reality the system requires the vet to answer whether the dog is a service animal and what tasks it's trained to do. I've seen the system myself. The way they handled this felt less like a good-faith attempt to follow federal rules and more like protecting their markup. This isn't a one-off. When my previous elderly dog was seen shortly before she passed, I was presented with a workup of bloodwork, X‑rays, and other tests around $1,000, and then given a verbal cancer diagnosis almost immediately after the X‑rays, before blood results could reasonably have been reviewed. I never received a call with those blood results. Even though the same owner accommodated me when I couldn't be present for euthanasia, none of that history translated into any sensitivity or accommodation this time around. To be clear, I'm willing to pay for the actual exam and medication. I've disputed the remaining $616 in certificate/"USDA" charges with my bank and will take it to small claims court if I have to. In my view, this clinic mishandled a straightforward request, overcharged heavily for endorsement-related items, and treated a disabled client as if they were trying to get away with something instead of providing clear, honest service. I've since moved to a different vet who was able to handle the paperwork promptly and transparently. I would recommend anyone with a disability, a service animal, or international travel needs to think very carefully before trusting Inwood Animal Clinic with critical paperwork or relying on them for clear, upfront pricing.

At almost every other vet I have used, except emergency hospitals, I have been able to be present for exams, vaccines, and procedures to comfort my pet. I was told this was a COVID policy, but years later it is still enforced and it feels outdated. Another concern is privacy. Sensitive conversations are held in the lobby in front of everyone, which feels uncomfortable. Even large corporations like Petco state on their website that pet parents are allowed to stay with their animals during visits. If a corporation can allow it, a smaller clinic should too. The staff and doctors themselves are fine, but these policies take away from the good work they are trying to do. Overall the clinic is okay, yet the approach feels cold and out of touch with the needs of both pets and their owners.
