I have seen several dance companies use the indoor facility to teach dance (have seen little ballerinas bouncing around there). One thing that many people completely miss when visiting the park is that Honeygo also offers an extensive trail system through it's woods! Pretty neat. The trail entrance is located off the paved path at the bottom of the hill towards the back of the park (behind the fenced football field). Check it out!

Every Saturday I hoof it from D.C. to Baltimore explicitly to throw balls at faces. Hard. Why? I mean, besides the obvious of the epicness that is dodgeball, it's once a week (Saturdays at 11am... enough time for me to show up still a little bit drunk, but awake enough to participate). It's also only $10 for the season, you heard me, ten whopping dollars (first day is free to try out). Seriously, I just shit a bacon cheeseburger that cost me more than that (to be fair, the poop was pretty fantastic). Fourthly, it is FUN. Super mega bonus karma points? It's county run, which means it's NOT run by United Social Sports... nothing against them, there is a time and a place for USS, however, it's nice to get a break from the 40+ dudes that want to power punch a rubber dodgeball at you so hard your ovaries leap into your throat. Plus, there aren't set teams. New ones are chosen each week depending on the rate of participation, and it enables you to play with a variety of different types of players, adjust your own game, etc. The folks there are friendly enough to help you out with different tactics/techniques if you ask. Some additional deets: - Six 8" Voit Foam balls are used during play (word on the street says Gator Skins will be on their way, so there's that). I bring my pink Gator Skin (aka Pink Thunder) with me, too. - Indoor Basketball Court with white lines for the borders (don't know the exact measurements off the top of my head, but they are NADA Regulation sized I believe). Yep, during the blistering summer, it's one of the few indoor sports where the players skin doesn't turn into delicious delicious bacon. - Parking is plentiful. Coming from DC, I welcome the availability of places I can drag my metal machine without having to worry about whether or not i just took up two spaces (I'm a terrible driver, so I probably did... okay, lets just assume I did). - Co-ed, and all ages (signing a waiver is likely a requirement) So basically, if you don't come out and play every Saturday at 11AM at Easter Regional Park, I'll eat your babies. The times have changed, currently it's running on Sundays from 1000-1200 and it's $25 for the season or free to come and try it out. Right now the Season runs for 10 weeks, but every person who signs up tacks on another week of play. If you have the time, I urge you to give it a try. After a rough week at the office it's nice to throw some balls at my best friends.

Btw the DJ was one of the best hip hop DJs I have experienced at a roller rink ever and I have been to several rinks across the country. This Y has great workout equipments. Some of their machines are pretty modern. I was surprised by how clean and well maintained this Y was. Bikes were amazing. You can go on a nice virtual ride. The handles turn giving you a real feel of riding the bike. One of the best bikes I have seen in the gym. They lose a star for their outdated locker room. Small showers and the access to the sauna is pretty far outside the shower near the swimming pool. They don't provide towels. Luckily my husband had an extra towel in his gym bag.

No coin- operated lockers were there when I went to the rink in 2020. There was no designated waiting area besides the parking lot in 2020. No pro shop with a qualified, experienced figure skate technician in 2020. Hope the rink has those things it didn't have in 2020.

Especially in winter, a place like this is a godsend. That being said, the Northeast Regional Recreation Center isn't in the best shape, at least the portion I've visited. My son spent the winter playing indoor soccer here. The nets and goals seem like they have seen better days. The turf did appear to be fine. Another issue with this rec center is the parking. If you get here early or play the first round of games, you are rewarded with parking. Otherwise it is really hit or miss. There is a lot of waiting in lines and being patient while vehicles try to turn around in cramped spaces (only one way in and out of the parking lot). Most of the time we wound up parking at the shopping center and trudging through the ice and snow and darkness to our games. Ultimately, I'm glad there is a place for indoor soccer (and indoor walking which I would do during his games) but I have definitely been to nicer rec centers and hope this one can be updated.

The parking lot is great and there is two parts to it so there is plenty of room to find that perfect spot! This is one of the locations that people come to vote at depending on where you are registered. I do typically take my dogs here from time to time just to have time to run the big fields and feel free from the world! They love it even though it is not a dog park but I have a whole gang so we make our own fun lol. The old building is still in use. The old building also has a children playground, tennis and basketball court around it. If your kid is signed up for leagues there you may be utilizing both buildings. Either way I believe you will enjoy!

Every wall has an auto belay making it easy to clip in and out while being safe. There's a wall for all experience levels. There are restrooms, drinking fountains, party rooms, and an arcade. It was a blast and worth the longer drive from Washington, D.C.
