My experience with MidCity plumbers was absolutely fantastic. I needed them to clear a kitchen sink backflow that caused a major flood in my unit. They answered the phone in less than 5 seconds, and were able to prioritize my call and attend my emergency instantly... and all this on a SATURDAY! We had a slow drip in our shower and wanted a washer/dryer installed. Both were botched. For the slow drip, we had two separate technicians come on two separate occasions. First struggled to find a replacement cartridge and replaced it with an old one he found at his office. Issue continued. Second technician said a problem was not with the old cartridge, but with an entirely different part that needed to be sourced by me. Once I found it, I got a plumber from Milani to come to install it, only he found out it was indeed the old cartridge that was the problem. Milani fixed the problem in 30 mins, MidCity wasted about 3 hrs (of which I was charged for) to not fix the problem. For the washer dryer installation, the job looked VERY amateur (literally splintered 2x2s bolted together to "secure" a part to the wall). Washer was not levelled and shipping bolts not removed. The thing bounced EVERYWHERE and damaged our walls. I had to troubleshoot myself and resolve. Technician who installed left without giving me an invoice or confirming job was done. We've been using MidCity plumbers for servicing our boiler for the past 10+ years. Our experience with them had very satisfying and they have been very professional and repaired our broiler as needed quickly. Yesterday, Saturday evening, our heat stopped working. Sunday morning, we called them and Steve answered the phone. Instead of just making an appointment for tomorrow he walked us through what possible problem could be and was able to get the heat going. Horrible Horrible work. I don't need to go into detail on how a one day job turned into a month before I fired Stephen Bennett and Midcity Plumbers. At the end, most of the work had been failed by the City, and I had to spend $8000 to get it fixed. Oh' and no permits were taken out even though I paid for that and it was in the contract. I also found out the company didn't even have a business license. It left me no choice after weeks of no water, no heat, and a flooded kitchen that I had to file a lawsuit for over $19,000. I won. Even during Covid and after freezing temperatures, plumbers were scarce, MidCity Plumbers was able to schedule my hot water pipe leak repair promptly. Frank wore a mask, was professional in explaining the work that he will be performing. Completed the repair efficiently. Best of all very knowledgeable. Before Frank was scheduled to complete the repair, I had spoken with Stephen on the phone on a Sunday. I took photos and sent them to him. If you are having a problem with plumbing or heating, you will not find a better company to call. Stephen is not only passionate about his work but he really care about the people that he does the work for. Because he cares so much you will not get better service anywhere. He exchanged my Mothers Boiler and gave her great service. He went above and beyond in trying to get her not so old unit working. He was unsuccessful in getting the original unit working not from the lack of try, but due to terrible service and cooperation from the manufacture out of California. Eventually we bit the bullet and got her a new unit, which Stephen promptly installed and bee work great ever since. I highly recommend Midcity plumbers. read more

ZERO out of five! This company is one of the biggest jokes I have ever encountered! Please do not use them for any work. The owner does not even do any of the work himself. He makes students do the work and treats them like garbage. The owner has the nerve to charge very expensive rates with inexperienced STUDENTS at much higher than normal rates. I asked him to look at my bill and adjust the bill because I was charged for work that was not done and he refused. After that he put a lien on my property because I asked him to fix the invoice which he never wrote himself. His students dented my new stove, installed the dishwasher crooked and damaged my baseboard and my brand new kitchen cabinets. He is a bully and tries to intimidate people. He is a true lowlife. Incredibly, this guy was sent to me as a referral and turned out to be such a SCAMMER. The other reviews on this site are 100 percent accurate; they are not mistaken. Stephen B. Dec 25 2021 no running water at my daughters house in Delta - not a good Christmas present. On Dec 28 after searching for a plumber with no luck went through the BBB and located MidCity Plumbers. Like most plumbing business during this cold snap they were busy and said that they would come to the house on Dec 29th at 8 a.m., even though it was a bit out of their regular territory. True to their word they were over at the house at 8 a.m. sharp. The plumber was polite, spoke to me in regular english (not plumber lingo) advised me of the problem and then fixed it. MidCity Plumbers where saviors to my family. I would give them a 100 Star rating if I could. Prices reasonable and a Gold Star rating on their customer service. If you need a plumber this is definitely the company to call, I can guarantee you will not be disappointment and that you also would tell your friends and neighbors. A BIG thank you. The word "budget plumbing is a lie" I had an issue with my downstairs basement suite toilet as it is my responsibility to take care of. Came in and spent less than 10 minutes to look at the flapper and "fixed" it yet nothing was fixed. I called him back again in which he would say that he would come no problem that he would fix it but yet he charged me again for a job he didn't even complete the first time. I was quoted as $85 which seemed reasonable, however, my bill was $200 something. I just paid him $90 in cash for the 7 minutes he was there and told him he needed to leave my house. He refused to leave unless I paid the rest of the bill in which at that time I got out my cell phone and told him that if he wasn't leaving in 3 minutes I would call the cops. Thankfully one of my neighbors heard and "encouraged" him to leave immediately. read more

I had a small clog that took no time to get fixed. Stephen and his son Tyson were polite, considerate, and extremely professional. I had no issues. The plumber was able to come right away, was friendly, found another leak, which he repaired, as well as installed the new faucet that I had bought. Yes, I found out later that he was a student. A capable, but deceiving and un-honest plumber. He was at my place for 3 hours and quoted 85 dollars per hour. At the end of the three hours I received an 588 dollar bill, 55 dollars of that was parts and then there was tax which I am fine with. He was on the phone throughout the entire time about other jobs and then lied and said he got there a half an hour before be even stepped in the house as he was chatting outside my place on his phone. I paid the bill as he would not discuss the issue and would have been fine if they were his quoted rates. I would not use him again for this reason and the un-honest behaviour. read more

Such a rip off. He tried to fix my toilet and it lasted 3 flushes and it got plugged again. When I asked him to come again, he refused to come unless I pay him again. He even accused me that I put something in my toilet to plug it again on purpose. Please help yourself and do not use him. He has no honor in his profession. He spent 7 min and took 77 dollars.
