I've been going to this Midas for 15+ years and will continue to do so. I have a 21 year old car (as well as 2 newer cars) and at one time or another Midas has replaced most every part on the engine, brakes, exhaust, and steering. Just a few weeks ago I bought a set of tires here as well. The only thing they would not do over the years was a transmission rebuild. The guys at the front desk are great to deal with and give honest assessments. They will tell you when something is starting to go and they don't push you to do it on the spot if it's not necessary. The mechanics are great at explaining the problem(s). Very pleasant, trustworthy and a group that actually seems to enjoy what they do. Also they warranty repairs and parts as good as any others I know of. I've taken my car elsewhere for quotes only to return to this Midas to find out either the part does not need to be replaced or if it does, Midas will do the same repair at a better price. It's never pleasant to have to pay for car repairs, but your dollar goes a long way here and I know they are being honest with me. So when you need your car repaired, go get a quote somewhere else and then bring your car to this Midas for the repair. You will be happy you did and know you saved some $. read more

These guys rock. I saved $500. Here's a true story...A few weeks ago, I brought my car in for 2 quotes on fixing my brakes. They were uneven and causing some resonance shaking my steering wheel. Took it to Firestone. They told me new pads, retool rotors, new brake fluid, etc. for $635. Took to Midas next. The guys here told me brake pads are fine. Plenty of meat on them. Retool the rotors and grind the pads even. Total: $135! Also, they work quickly. Got me in and out. I'll be back here every time. read more

My recommendation is to stay away. We had a check engine light come on, took it to Midas Wheaton and $400 and two days later the check engine light was back on. We took it back to these guys and after another $400 and a bunch of frustration, we got the car back only to have it breakdown the next week. We had it towed to AAA Car Care just down the road on Roosevelt in Glen Ellyn. They figured out the problem, got the engine codes to clear and charged us only $80. It was obvious that Midas just didn't have the expertise needed to fix our car but they sure didn't mind squeezing us for extra $s. Steer clear! read more

I needed an oil change and had a coupon so I made an appointment with these guys the night prior online, they call me and leave a message the next morning informing me they cannot honor the appointment due to being busy and overbooked. If that was the case I shouldn't have been able to make an appointment online but if your systems aren't updated and the appointment was made than you should do whatever is in your power to honor that appointment for your customers. Now I was left in a situation where I couldn't get an overdue oil change although I made the appointment, if I knew that the appointment wouldn't be honored I would have made it at another location or another store but now I can't do that until next week although I'm overdue for one because most places are very busy on Saturdays and don't have available slots and weekdays are close to impossible due to my work schedule. I lived in Savannah, Georgia for a year and a half and during that time I went to a Midas down there to get some repair work done on my truck and during my move back to Wheaton a few months later I ran into the same problem. The mechanic in Savannah failed to do the job correctly. When back in Wheaton I brought my truck into this branch to have the same problem fixed. I was working with Corporate Midas to have the Savannah branch help pay for the work they didn't do correctly. Every employee at this Wheaton branch went above and beyond to help me through this process. The owner even called me to discuss the issue. They had nothing to gain from helping me out this much. They are up to their ears every time I go in there with things to work on. No average team would stretch to the measures they did to help me out when this busy all the time. Credit where credit is due. My wife brought the car here for an oil change for the first time because we recently moved and I could no longer take it all the way to the dealership for work. The oil change was done and the car was returned in good order after a short wait. 2 hours later the "check engine" light was on, and in my mind, I though HEEERRREEE we go..... I instructed my wife to return with the car the next morning because, well, I just knew there was going to be issues. Well to my and my wifes resolve, they immediately looked at the car, as soon as she arrived, and noticed they merely didn't tighten the air filter box enough. An honest, and minor, mistake. They tightened the box, and the light turned off. My wife was on her way within 15 minutes. It can be scary taking your car to an unknown place to have work done, knowing that they have complete control of your machine and, especially if you can't diagnose problems yourself, that they can make things happen. The honesty, speed, and professionalism of this location comforted me. I will be taking my car here for routine maintenance as long as I live in Wheaton. Thanks Midas! read more

I was concerned about my brakes, so I made an appointment to have them checked. They not only took me earlier than planned, but they also assured me that while my rotors would need to be replaced soon, it wasn't an immediate problem. When I then asked if they could fix a brake light I had forgotten to mention earlier, they were quick to offer me an estimate, check out the problem, and save me from making an unnecessary purchase by fixing the connection rather than replacing the bulbs. To top it all off, they didn't even charge me for service. They said it was their good deed for the day, and that they hoped I would remember to bring my car back to Midas. Definitely! After receiving an estimate for major repairs at a competitor, this Midas store checked my car and found that the suggested urgent "major" repairs were actually unnecessary in once case and only suggested in another. They explained the rack and pinion system to me and demonstrated patiently (with my van on the lift) that the tie rods were not loose. I find the employees at this store courteous, professional, and very helpful. They go above and beyond. I am doing all future care repairs here! read more

Went in for an oil change and asked how long it would take. Guy behind the counter said they just started one and I would be next, so '30 mins'. I said OK, I'll wait. 1 or 2 second hesitation...he turns around and says it will be about '90 mins' until my car would be finished. It was around 10 am and they really didn't look busy, honestly I think he was just trying to get rid of me, so I just say no thanks and I leave. read more
