When I was coming back from a Yelp Event, my tire pressure light came on. The next day, I called Midas and spoke to Andy. He got some information about the tire and ordered it. I went to the store last Wednesday and found out that I needed 3 more tires. Andy ordered those tires and those tires were changed. Also, I found out that I needed a tire alignment. The store manager, Jay, a discount for the alignment. The main reason I went to Midas is because the store is close by. Luckily, my neighbors were able to add to the tire and plug it. I discovered a screw in my tire on Saturday before heading to work. Called on my lunch and spoke with Kyle. He advised me that they could try to repair it but it might have to wait til Monday due to how late in the day it was. He offered to put my spare on and that I could leave the damaged tire with them to pick up on Monday. I drove over and within 30 minutes, I not only had my tire repaired, but they also made sure that I didn't have to deal with the stress of putting the spare on and coming back for my tire. Kyle and his crew were a lifesaver and I now know where I'll be going for future repairs. Lucas at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly, and super understanding of my frustrations I'd been dealing with. He gave me talking points to take back to the dealership. I tried to get an appointment online but didn't wait for a response, and I'd been delaying my oil change for quite some time. I know I know... won't happen again. I drove over with 30 mins until they closed Lucas offered to ask one of his technicians and he gladly agreed to take care of my car and change the oil. First off I didn't want to make a bad review for this store but what happened was just unacceptable. So i went in to try and get two tires that i was supplying myself mounted and balanced for my car. I expressed the possible fitment issue with the rim as I wasn't sure of the rim width. They expressed confidently that there would not be an issue mounting them, I was happy and paid for them to install them. After the first hour and a half they told me they only got one tire on but put the tire on backwards and needed to restart. I tell them it's fine and they continue to install the tires, or at least try to. They tell me after waiting three hours that they can't get the tire to bead, the tire must be defective. I told them ok well thank you for at least trying, can you put the old tire back on as i can not leave it overnight. They agree and put it on, keep in mind i've been sitting away from them the entire time not keeping an eye on them. I walk over as they get read to pull out the car and they smack the door into the lift post, i stare at them in utter shock and disbelief. He then backs the car out and i notice they have completely ruined the face of my rim. THEN he runs the front of my car into the set of tires they tried to mount and scratch ever living crap out of the bumper. At this point i'm livid, like what the hell... They tried acting all buddy buddy saying it's not that bad or it'll buff out, at that point i got my refund and left. I doubt anyone from this establishment will make it right and compensate for the damages that they've caused so here i am writing this review. Started my adventure here with an appointment for 9:30am. I sat in an empty lobby for an hour while my car sat outside. Two attractive females walked in without an appointment (they stated this, so that's how I know) and the Dude working took them in before me like it was his way of running game on them. He proceeded to go outside and flirt with them while for 30 minutes or so. I watched the guy in charge Ishmael or whatever his name is smoke like 6 cigarettes in the time it took to make my car move. The place is in dire need of repairs there were holes in the roof everything was dirty. I even watched the Service writer/ Manager put actually customers on hold to continue his personal conversation about real estate. Homeboy is buying deeds and tax leans instead of doing whatever he's supposed to be doing here. The phone was literally ringing without anyone to answer it several times. I think It shows the blatant disregard for their customers when I'm the only person in the lobby with the phone ringing off the hook. The only reason I was able to capture this is because I was taking a video to showcase the lack of cleanliness and responsibility this place is putting on display. Another one of the videos that I recorded showcasing how empty it is I almost captured a customer walk into the shop and yell hello over and over trying to find someone to help them. He walked back inside and I told him he should just leave good luck getting help from these guys. Like I said to that custome. I would avoid this place at all costs. I tried to be as detail oriented as possible with my review to show you that I am not making things up and this place is terrible. Absolutely terrible!! If you are not detoured by this review God have mercy on your vehicle. The worst part is I paid for my tires to be rotated and they refused to do it even after I proved them wrong with their own little colorful tire gauge. My car is a 2023 with 18,000 miles. There's no way my tires are unsafe to rotate. They will make any excuse to remain lazy and it is visible in all aspects of their business especially customer service. Then after I arrived home I discovered that they grossly overfilled my tires. They charge me for tire service on the receipt and did a tire disservice. As overinflating tires is not only dangerous but makes them wear faster and more unevenly. I even have audio clips of him arguing with me after I went outside with him and saw for myself that the tires were in spec. In the video he even admits on accident to almost out of specs. Or "damn near" out of specs as he phrased it. I'm sure he'll respond to this review but won't give me the corporate number so I can file a complaint on him. He likes to argue and do other things besides his job, so I doubt he'll give me the corporate number like I asked for in-store. Visited this location for a new car battery. After they ran a diagnostic test, the results showed I needed a new one. Let them know the battery had warranty and was interested to know if I would receive a discounted rate purchasing new. Their staff blatantly lied and told me the battery had already exceeded the 2 year mark for warranty and I had to buy new for a total of $450. After some digging, found out the battery was in fact still under warranty and within the 4 year mark which should have given me a 45% discount when purchasing the new battery. read more

I had my air conditioner repaired at the Tampa store in August of 2022. In July of 2023, the air conditioner went out again. The manager of the Tampa store told me I was able to bring the car back to the Winter Haven store to have the repair done, because the stores were dually owned. Since the part was still under warranty, I would just have to pay for the labor. Thankfully before visiting the store, I decided to have the car diagnosed at Chevrolet to make sure the compressor was the issue. They confirmed that was the ONLY issue. When I arrived at this store at noon on Friday, they were not able to locate the part to fix my car by closing time and I would have to leave my car there for the weekend to be repaired. When I picked the car up on Monday, a rat had chewed a hole in the front seat over the weekend. The hole measured 2.5" x 2.5". The rat also ate my sons IPad cover, chewed the underside of the passenger seat and ruined a children's book. The manager, Jonathon, was super apologetic and admitted that when they acquired the business they had a huge rat problem. He said they would repair any damage that was done. I originally wanted the seat replaced but the owner refused the replace the seat, only to repair, which I finally accepted. I took off work and searched all over to find a place to repair the seat but the hole was too large for anyone to successfully repair, without it looking totally botched. Each place I took it to, suggested placing a new seat cover over half or the whole seat. I finally accepted that I would have to get a cover put on the bottom half of the seat and that it would not perfectly match the rest of the seats in the car. The new cover would be part leather and part vinyl. A month after leaving the Winter Haven store, the air conditioner went out again. Since it was within the 90 day warranty, I could take my car to any Midas to be repaired. I chose a store in Orlando, who noticed the Winter Haven store had not done the repair correctly. They replaced the compressor and other minor issues the Winter Haven store had done incorrectly. Literally a month later, the AC went out AGAIN! I was so fed up with Midas I took the car to a repair shop that I knew I could I trust. Within about 45 minutes they let me know that the compressor was broken again and that Midas had used a cheap repurposed part. During the repair, they noticed that the line to the compressor had been bent (most likely by the Winter Haven store to get their cheap part to fit). That was why the compressor kept breaking. They were able to bend the line back into place, but warned me that it may break again in a couple years or so. I spent another $1150 at this store. This was obviously caused by the Winter Haven store because the bent line was not noted on the original diagnosis from Chevrolet and that was why the air conditioner kept going out. I submitted both bills, the vinyl repair bill and the bill from the car repair location who fixed my air conditioner, to the Winter Haven store. The owner of both locations is refusing to pay for the air conditioner repair and is only offering to pay for the seat repair, which is around $500. I would never go to the Tampa or Winter Haven location.. or any Midas ever again! As a business owner, I know the value of good customer service and taking care of clients. I feel like a nobody to them and have never felt so mistreated by a business. I have taken multiple days off work, had my air conditioner break 3 times within a three month period (during the summer) and had my car eaten by a rat and all they are offering me is $500?!? Wow. They will lose far more business from would-be future customers reading this review than it would have cost them to just pay my $1150 repair bill along with the seat repair. Please do yourself a favor and avoid both of these locations at all costs. read more

In March of 2023, we noticed that the brakes on our 2013 car needed to be replaced. We also needed to replace one of the headlight housings. We already had an estimate from the Midas on 315 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, but my husband always likes to go back to the dealership. We got an estimate from them as well; however, when compared to Midas, the dealership prices were 50% more than Midas. What was also cost-effective is that Midas said we could purchase the headlamp housing on our own, and they would just charge installation. It turned out to be much less since I was able to shop around online. It's not just that the repairs/parts were less expensive, but I got the impression that we weren't just a long line of faceless customers. They paid attention to our concerns, and the repairs were done quickly. I believe the success of this particular Midas is due in part to the two store managers, Ismael Irizarry and Kyle Sanborn, and their excellent staff. That being said, we will continue to use them for our car repairs. read more

I was going to this Midas for years and trusted them. My last experience was horrible and GM Ismael was a huge part of it. To sum it up, they didn't listen to my request to only work on what was needed. They were dishonest about what parts of my car failed during an engine test and the communication was poor or inconsistent. When I picked up my car, I asked for my 6 coils that they claimed were ALL bad so I could get them tested elsewhere. The GM told me they now own the parts and holds them for 30 days by law. He said an independent worker could come test them there. I said great, that's what I'll do. The next morning he was reminded to not throw away the parts; however, we were then informed that the parts were thrown away. To feel taken advantage of is an understatement. This experience unfortunately reminded me of why auto repair shops have such a bad reputation. Midas, please do not reply or comment on this post. The damage is done. read more

Posting this review after the fact because this Midas' poor work is still affecting me to this day. Took my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee here after the catalytic converter was cutout and stolen. The work was so poor that the new exhaust system broke free and nearly fell completely off while driving. A different Midas even recognized the poor work and back-charged this location after completing the work correctly. Do not take your vehicle here, mechanics and management are incompetent. read more

I have an older Nissan Versa with over 80,000 miles. As expected, things have been wearing out and/or breaking down. A coworker told me about Izzy at Midas, which is within walking distance of my office, Izzy, Kyle, and Lucas have always treated me as a valued customer from the first day. In addition, I know that my car is fixed the first time and I won't have to take it back because the work wasn't performed properly. I can drop the car off in the morning, walk to work, and then walk back over and pick it up in the afternoon -- the convenience of which is valuable, in and of itself. Also, the prices are reasonable, and they tell you ahead of time what it's going to cost before they do the work. But just as important is the fact that as a female, who knows absolutely nothing about cars and how they run, I have never felt like I'm getting screwed, or being taken advantage of! Dropped off my vehicle 6 weeks ago for muffler/exhaust repair. I called every week to check on the status. Each time I got a different excuse. Finally last Friday they called to say they couldn't do the work. They couldn't find the parts and didn't have qualified employees to do the work anyway. They said I could pick up the vehicle and there'd be no charge. I went there this past Monday to get it. More apologies and recommended I find a custom muffler shop. Saud there'd be no charge. So I fired up the car and it sounded awful. Went back in and the front desk guy referred me to mechanic who walked over to me carrying my muffler and complete exhaust line. They had never even given me a definitive quote but removed everythfrom my car and not even told me! I was pretty upset. I immediately drove to their competitor a little embarrassed by the loud exhaust. Tomorrow, they are installing a new muffler and custom exhaust. I'll never go back to Midas! read more

Find somewhere else but if you are forced to bring your car here, make sure they give you the right part! I brought my car in to get a new battery. After that, I was having issues with my car and was told by the dealership that the wrong battery was put in my car. I called this Midas location and they assured me that it was the correct battery (shame on me for believing them). Well, surprise surprise.... A few months later I ended up being stranded with my kids because my car wouldn't start. I drove it straight there and they told me that it would be a week before they could get the correct battery. They did put the wrong battery in my car. Even the battery brand that they put in my car states that it should not be in my car. I called the manager at the location and he had no interest in helping me. He informed me that the location changed ownership since I got the battery and it was not their problem and would not be refunding me for the incorrect part being put in my car that caused problems. read more

I had such great service here! The people were friendly and service was wonderful! I just came to patch my tire and the way I was treated, you would have thought I was spending hundreds of dollars here! Located right of dale mabry, right past Kennedy, it can get super busy but you can get an appointment. Fortunately for myself, I went in the morning and was able to get in and out. As a girl, i am always wary about going to auto repair shops because I have noticed in the past that they try to get you to spend more than what you need to, however the guys at Midas were straightforward and got the job done. Previously, my roommate has gone here and gotten her oil change and always spoke highly of the staff and how they treated her. The manager marcus is super friendly and is an honest person that doesn't push for work to be done. They diagnosed an engine fan that needed replaced and I held it off for a long time but he reminded me everytime i had an oil change, I finally got it fixed and my car sounds much better now. When I needed all my brakes changed and fan changed, Marcus gave me a ride to work 15 min away and my car was ready by lunchtime which is so nice because im the type of person who always needs her car. These are honest guys that I trust. Im glad I found them because I am a woman that doesn't know very much about cars and my dad used to handle all my car problems. Living here 2 years now, and finally found my go to spot. With hurricane Ian coming through, my car wouldn't start due to my battery being dead/old. No auto zone was open.
