Went here on Friday, 8-14-26 as a suggestion from a good friend of mine. I was NOT disappointed. 1st off, upon arrival, I was greeted very warmly and friendly! Vincent was at the front counter and was absolutely wonderful! I told him what I needed done and he got the ball rolling. I was given a time frame when my truck service would be completed and offered shuttle service to and from the shop. The shuttle driver, Santos, was sooooo amazing and very entertaining! Just a real stand up gentleman. I was kept up to date on the status of my truck and when I went to pick it up, I wasn't fed any BS. Everything was straight forward. They were incredibly detailed on inspecting my truck and told me what needed attention in the future. I was very pleased with the pricing as well..!! I will be going here from now on for all my vehicle needs. Im beyond satisfied with how I was treated there and how well my truck was taken care of. It runs like the day I drove it brand new!! Midas charged us $900+ for what a local dealership would have charged us under $800. They then wanted to charge us more after there was a "hose in the way" that they didn't know about. After talking to manager, they lowered the price and apologized for the "error". I wouldn't trust them with another car and wonder how many don't know any better and just pay more and more. read more

TOTAL RIP OFF! Went in to have battery checked, they charged us $100 to diagnose the vehicle. They told us we needed a new battery: the charge for the battery $150 BUT the cost for labor was $200 an hour!!! TO CHANGE A CAR BATTERY. A job that takes 15 minutes. Total unscrupulous business practice taking advantage of customers. $450 bucks to put in a new car battery. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel this needs to be shared. I went to Midas at Seaside, CA location for a simple oil change, but the treatment I received was disappointing and unfair. Maria was very polite and welcoming to the customer ahead of me, but when it was my turn, her attitude completely changed. She was rude, unwelcoming, and did not provide me with the same level of service that she gave to others. It felt discriminatory and unprofessional, and no customer should ever be treated differently based on who they are. A business should treat all customers with respect and consistency. Though the oil change was done we learned at a Truck Service Center that the typical change for this is much less than $293. We paid $111 for the same synthetic oil and a better filter today at a semi truck service center. read more

I will never bring another vehicle to this establishment and strongly urge everyone to steer clear. My SUV has always been reliable with zero issues. I brought it in for routine maintenance (brakes, oil change, transmission fluid replacement). $1700 later drove away with a car that was flashing a check engine light and violently shuddering under the hood. Midas was immediately on the defensive claiming it could not have been caused by them before they even took a look at it. They tried to tell me it just coincidentally needed new spark plugs (took it elsewhere, it did not). It's now been 2 weeks and more money spent at another mechanic trying to undo the damage. read more

I believe this is my second review on Midas on Del Monte in Seaside. My first yelp was after Robert left and I wasn't happy. Robert always took a really good care of my mom and I, and after Robert left things went downhill they couldn't figure out things on my mom's car that another place figured out immediately. Well now I want to say I've changed my mind. I'm very pleased with Midas again. well lets see Never Ever...! I repeat Never Ever take your car to this place ! last october they did my upper and lower timing cover. i had i minor leak ! that minor leak lead to my timing chain going out ! after they replaced my covers no later than 1 hour after i picked it up . i heard a sound my check engine light light went on . i took it back the next day .they were like yeah your timing chain went out ! i asked y they said usually when you get new work done something goes out ! not sir a cover !! so they did not replace the timing bolt since it is tty ,use once and toss it .well they didn't toss it ! . After a month of my car sitting in the lot they finally got it done ! i pick it up . drive it for a day . I notice a significant amount oil loss, still going back n forth with them till this day ! they had to redo my chain twice , car is still loosing oil till this day . now they want me to do no business there at all in the seaside store or salinas store since same owner ! there obviously some sort internal damage from them . letting my timing chain go out over n over and redoing my covers over n over . i mean in 8 months my engine was wide open 4 times at least . figure they do what's right but nope read more

The older man ahead of me was buying four new tires and mentioned he may be trading the car in depending on what they find on his upcoming big service. The Midas tech talked him out of buying tires for a car he may trade in. Hopefully the big service goes well and he is back in two weeks for four new tires. Family on vacation for Thanksgiving week when our car overheated. Took it to Midas in Seaside to get diagnosed and estimate. They said it had a small leak in a hose and needed to replace thermostat. Then they recommended replacing water pump. Not necessary but they knew I had a 6 hour drive home. I was quoted $1200. Very expensive but being holiday week I needed to get it repaired asap. Then they call me 4 hours later saying the hose they ordered didn't include the clamps and that would be an extra charge. My new total was going to be $1900!!! What!!! The guy on the phone was not the same person that originally quoted me. That person had conveniently left. He said that I must have misunderstood the original quote. Whatever, I just needed the car fixed. I got screwed. Now a few months later the car overheated again. This time I had my dealer look at it and said it was a simple relay for the fan. $50 to repair what Midas supposedly fixed for $1900. Thanks for taking advantage of a family on vacation Joey!! Had an oil change with tire rotation good quality and friendly service thy are very busy but hey have a great pricing

This past weekend, my hubby and I spent Sunday golfing in Monterey. We were on our way back to San Jose around 4:15 pm when we noticed one of our tires was low. When we got out to check it, there was a massive screw in the tread and immediately i was stressed. LOL Hubby called just about every tire place to see if they could squeeze us in for a repair, but most were about to close or couldn't squeeze us in. I called Midas and spoke to Andy, and since it was cutting it so close to closing time, he wasn't sure if his team could get it done. He told us to bring it in to see how bad it was and to our surprise, he and his team were able to get us in and out and back on the road just after closing time! Thank you so much Andy & the Midas Seaside team for staying past closing to help us out! We appreciate you all! We will definitely come back if we're ever in the area with car troubles! read more

** UNTRUSTWORTHY, DISSHONEST, UNPROFESSIONAL ** I do not normally leave reviews, but I would like to warn you before going to this auto shop. We were passing through (non-resident license plates) and wanted to get our brakes checked as we had been awhile. No suspicion aside from a little noise now and then. We paid $85 for a brake inspection and then were called saying they were recommending us to remove and replace brake pads, lubricate caliper slides and rotors, totaling to $1500. Keep in mind we were dealing with the manager Joe this entire time. On the phone when he called, he said our brake pads were separated. The situation did not feel right so we decided to decline service and get a second opinion. When we picked up our car Joe then told us that our car is safe to drive and we could even drive back out of state if we wanted! To me it felt as though he did not want us to go get a second opinion because we would then see we almost got scammed. We went over to Sullivan's Auto Service who did another break check, and they found nothing wrong (see attached photo). They were very kind and took us to the back to see for ourselves that nothing was wrong on our truck. It was very clear at that point that Midas was trying to take advantage of us. I called Midas back and kindly asked for a refund after explaining the situation (still dealing with the manager Joe). At first, he agreed to the refund, but then he got very defensive and would cut me off when I tried to speak. He then told me if I came back in showed him the paperwork from Sullivan's that he would give me the refund. I repeated the words he said to me in agreement. He then changed again and said he would need to take our truck back to his mechanic and if his mechanic says they were wrong, he would then refund us the $85. During this entire phone call, he raised his voice several times, cut me off while talking and lied about what he originally said on the phone to us PRIOR to us declining service. Prior to declining service Joe made us feel as though this was an urgent issue to address on our truck. After declining service, it was made to seem it was no big deal and it was simply a cosmetic recommendation. This business is untrustworthy, dishonest and unprofessional. read more
