Made appointment with Coy at Midas for a frontend aligned. I was hesitant to use Midas again. I'd had a horrible experience in the past. Upon my arrival I was met by Coy he got me in at the correct time. tHE MIDAS team Jacob, Mike and others worked on my custom car fixed the problem found a problem I didn't know I had fixed it in a reasonable time at a reasonable price. After paying $9472.00 for engine repair/replacement it took months. The day I picked up the car,engine oil is everywhere and drain plug is halfway out. Few weeks later had to get motor mount bushing done at a different shop. Two years later the screws holding the engine and transmission together had had to be replaced, and i had to pay for transmission control arm bushing. Zero integrity Zero honesty and zero workmanship. Would not recommend this midas or any west texas midas. read more

Im disappointed,had my truck serviced for suspension repairs. On Saturday,I noticed a lugnut missing one from each three tires. They wanted to charge me for replacement and then told me they had to break my lugnuts off,cause didnt have my chuck For one,if you dont have it. Call me,it was in the console. Do NOT GO HERE! Since they have hired this new guy named James Baptiste I need to warn people! He breaks people's cars and lies about it! He was suppossed to only do a simple oil chanhe on my 2023 jeep and whatever he did 30 minutes later my car starts overheating and come to find out oil was leaking into my coolant! Destroyed my car ionly had for less than 6 months with only 20K miles on it! I have found out since that he works here he has worked for 3 different Midas locations! And i know about his stalking customers obline! A bunch of women are talking about how he was doing it in lubbock while having a wife! He moved here after leaving his wife after she found out who he really was i guess because now he is here in our city doing it! Makes you wonder 3 mindas locations over the last 2 years! Normally pretty solid customer service here and fast service. Today an oil change an tires took over 3 hours with an appointment. Arrived at 7:45am left at 11:10am for an oil change and tire rotation. No tire balance. That's ridiculous. If you're going to take 3 plus hours to complete a 30-45 minute job at least apologize and explain what the issue was. Order filters at the beginning, not hours into the job. Avoid this place. Convinced me to change my air filter during oil change. Had to come back because my car was stalling out (almost got into an accident) They told me the technician didn't install the air flow filter correctly but said that wasn't the reason i was stalling out. Had to come back a third time and they figure out that there was leaf covering my airflow sensor because the filter wasn't installed correctly. When i drive my car out of the parking lot i notice my door is making a very loud buzzing sound when it locks and didn't do that before i took it in that morning. I take it back and they want to charge me almost $600 to fix it. Avoid at all costs. read more

I am furious. While preparing to deploy in 2009 I bought lifetime brakes at Midas for our family car so my wife wouldn't have to worry about anything. Over the past week I started hearing a grinding noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Knowing that the lifetime brakes only covered the pads and not wanting to deal with the huge markup on new rotors I waited and serviced the rear brakes myself. Going into the job I wondered why the squealer tabs hadn't warned me that the brake pads were getting thin. Once I had the caliper off and I was able to inspect the brake I found that the squealer tab was snapped off. snapped off. I was suspicious at this point but I took apart the other side and inspected it as well. The squealer tab on that side was also snapped off. This was now something that had been done deliberately. A piece of critical safety equipment had it's warning indicator destroyed by the service technician specifically so they could force me to buy new rotors when I brought the vehicle in to have the pads replaced. They weren't counting on the vehicle being owned by an experienced mechanic that would find their criminal behavior. Do not ever trust your vehicle to this Midas location. I am disgusted beyond belief. TL;DR Midas brake technician sabotaged brake pads to increase their bottom line. I have lots of pictures. read more

Took forever, they forgot to inspect it, and it was way overpriced. My husband and I went for an oil change and a rotors/brake pads check, considering my steering wheel was shuddering pretty badly whenever the car was braking. They said it should take 30-40 minutes to change the oil and check the breaks. We wait for about an hour and 15 minutes, then they call us up to the front. The man goes over the checklist with us and says there's nothing wrong. I ask him about the brakes. He FORGOT about the brake and rotor inspection. Which, begs the questions 1) what the hell took them so long then, if they only changed the oil, and 2) did they really check my car if they said everything was fine, when it clearly isn't? So, another half hour later, he calls us back up to the front, saying we definitely need to replace the front rotors and brake pads. That would come out to "at least a couple hundred"; the rear rotors only need to be trimmed ($80), and the brake pads are fine. So somehow it comes out $378 plus tax. My husband's dad works as a manager at a car dealership, so my husband calls him and asks. His dad said that by default, the whole front assembly would only be $189. Even if you added the (probably overpriced) $80 for the rear work, it's over $100 more expensive than it should be. We refuse the offer, pay almost $70 bucks for a synthetic oil change, and finally leave. Will definitely be looking for the fix elsewhere. read more

Unreliable and Dishonest I went to Midas to get 3 repairs so my car would pass inspection, the repairs found at another auto inspection site that couldn't fix them. The manager on duty at Midas said they could do all repairs and the inspection. Three repairs needed were (1) new driver's side taillight installed that I provided for them, (2) new gas cap that I took to them, and (3) front passenger headlight that wasn't burning on bright. After 3 hours I left and the car passed inspection. The next day, I checked the repairs. Here's what I found: (1) the new gas cap was not put on and not anywhere in my car; (2) the "repaired" headlight was now on high beam when it should be on normal and on normal when it should be on high; (3) the other, passenger side tail light was not working at all (but the new one worked fine). I went back to Midas and explained the problem. They scoffed at me and snickered when I said I wanted my money back for work that was not done. Finally I said, "You passed my car for inspection when you should not have and doing so is a violation of Texas inspection laws." Then and only then did they start taking me seriously. They finally made all needed repairs, which should have been checked prior to passing my car for inspection the first time. Another 3 hour wait. And while I waited every single person in the waiting room was told that their car would not pass inspection without some repair. Had I not checked the repairs, I would've been pulled over eventually and had to pay for repairs that I'd already paid for. I see them as scam artists lying to customers about unneeded repairs and not thoroughly completing requested repairs. Other reviews confirm this. From now on, I will take my car to a reputable mechanic, never again to Midas. read more

This Midas shop is a big rip off. They would not give a ruff quote for a tune up. Instead of the $500.00 the induvial said the most it would cost. My understanding is that Midas is not to work on any vehicle without a written estimate first, I never got one. They Midas did the tune up without my okay. The BILL was $707.23 had I gotten a written estimate for that amount there would be not way I would have got the work done there. Don't go to this shop their out to get all the money from you they can. I have already called all my family member and friends not to go there. You shouldn't either. read more

In the past, whenever I needed work done on my car, I took it to a local Midas shop. However, I moved a few years ago and have since been going to a Firestone that is located closer to me. Recently, I needed to get my brakes repaired for dash errors concerning the VCS/ABS systems. They charged me $60 for the diagnostics and then told me that the replacement part was over $350; their total quote was nearly $600. I decided to purchase the part on my own for $162 from a local O'Reilly's and returned to Firestone. However, they told me that they do not install parts purchased by the customer and recommended that I go to Midas to have the part installed there. So, I went to Midas. They installed the part within 75 minutes, re-ran the brake diagnostics, reset the error codes, took it for a test drive and only charged me $75 for labor. I was in disbelief. I watched the mechanic, Greg, install the part so I could learn more about my car. He was very patient and kind when I asked a couple questions about my brakes. Additionally, the assistant manager, Coy, was courteous and professional. He was honest about quoted prices for a recommended 100,000 mile maintenance service if I chose to have it completed. I told him I'd have to think about it and he conceded without pressuring me into any extra work. I am really impressed with the crew at Midas. I have never had any issue whenever I had my car serviced there. The only reason I started going to Firestone was because it was closer to my house. However, I will be driving the extra 1/2 mile to Midas to have my 100,000 service done when I decide it's time. Thank you, Firestone, for the recommendation. read more

This location, despite possibly being over priced, has some truly dedicated employees that have done everything in their power to insure that I am happy. I took my little VW Beetle (notorious for being a difficult to work on foreign car) in for an Air conditioner inspection about 4 months ago and have had it in and our of their shop many times attempting to get the air blowing cold. They installed a compressor that I bought online (after the condtion of the old compressor was initially overlooked) for free, after I had intially paid more than I could afford to fix some other minor issues with the A.C. system. A few months later the alternator gave up and they found that my compressor (now making loud squeeling noises) was a lemon and installed a new one. I was charged quite a bit of money but more than just these two issues were taken care of and they even fixed some headlight issues later for free. Beyond the mechanics and costs they have been nothing but professional and kind to my family and I. I will most definitely be taking my business back to them. Thank you!! read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!! Do NOT do business here. I have never been one to leave a bad review but this one takes the cake. Long story short we take my fiancés pickup to get an oil change, inspection done an over all checkup for his truck basically, we left paying well over $1000. They "supposedly" inspected my finances 2007 F150 the previous Friday but when I take the pickup to get the registration done there is no inspection form or any evidence that they inspected it! I call Midas and they say the inspector is out for the day to call back tomorrow well that doesn't work for me I have plans the next day. So I call back a few minutes later to see if there is anything they can print off for me to show the registration people so he tells me to come in and see what they can do. He tells me they have no record of an inspection being done but I paid for it? Makes absolutely no sense! He tells me to go get it inspected elsewhere and then bring him the ticket and he will refund me. So I'm running all over town because of these idiots! So I go get it inspected at another place in town and they were very understanding and tried to look in the database again to see if they missed anything and nothing. So they reinspect my car and then the mechanic comes in and tells me my wiper blades are no good and they need to put new ones on or else it won't pass inspection! After I already paid for brand news at Midas!! I return to Midas to show him the ticket and show him my wiper blades. He did refund my money for both but I am so upset about the whole experience. Who knows what else we paid for that they didn't even fix. Very unprofessional business. I repeat do not do business there. I wouldn't even leave 1 star. Awful. read more

I was in San Angelo and realized I had forgotten to change my oil prior to leaving New Mexico. I also needed my tires rotated. I did a search and found this Midas shop who would do both. Had I checked Yelp first I would have passed but they were close by my hotel and had good reviews on another site and I was not familiar with the local area. It was a weekday afternoon so I went in. The guy said it would take about 30 minutes to change my oil and rotate my tires. I was on my way in about 20 minutes. While I was waiting I found the negative Yelp reviews and got a little nervous but the service was good and the price less than I paid at Grease Monkey last oil change. Cant ask for more than that. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Very incompetent people working there. They try to sell you things/repairs that you don't need. I thought the tech was going to ruin my starter trying to start my 1980 CJ7 Jeep. He ground the gears horribly trying the find first gear, and had no ideas how to adjust the seat. Also while I was there a very unsatisfied customer (military) questioned repairs that they did that he knew did not need to be done. Another gentleman had been waiting for OVER an hour for just an estimate and a lady had been there over TWO hours for a head light. They were not that busy for a wait to be that long. When questioned they would walk away and leave customers standing there with no explanation. I have never seen a more poorly run operation....EVER!!!! My advice? Go anywhere but Midas. Be sure to read all of the reviews first if you do decide to take your vehicle there. I wish I had. I will never get back the 1 hour that I wasted there!!!! read more

Midas has an advertise "Special" Free AC check. My AC was "cool" but not "cold" and was working. My first visit to this shop. So I decided to take my car in. First they asked me about my husband. What does that have to do with anything? I waited right about an hour, the MANAGER came and told me, the AC check shows a leak. It would cost 179.00 to attach a vacuum and put a dye in to find the leak and re-fill the Freon. It was late in the day so I said I would bring it back. I got about a block away and turned on the AC...HOT AIR!!! That is all it would blow? My son looks at the car that evening, can't find anything. So he take it back to Midas, now they are telling him the compressor is out. I said enough, I told my Ford Focus to the dealership. After a 15 point check, my car is perfect. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS...it just needs more Freon. Lesson here, DON'T TRUST THIS MIDAS SHOP!!!!! Will never go back. Manager is a lair. read more
