1 Star -- Absolutely Ridiculous, Overpriced & Misleading This place is a complete joke. I scheduled a 3:30 appointment for an Uber inspection and rearranged my entire day around it, just to be turned away immediately. The reason? My Minnesota registration "can't be scanned" because the barcode looks different than Pennsylvania ones. Instead of even attempting to do his job, the employee shut me down with, "No, I know my system." No effort, no workaround, no willingness to help--just pure laziness and arrogance. What makes this worse is that Uber specifically lists this Midas location as an approved inspection site. A LOT of Uber drivers are in rentals or driving vehicles registered out of state--that's completely normal. So why are you listed as a valid inspection location if you can't--or won't--handle something that basic? And let's talk about the price--most places charge around $25-$45 for an Uber inspection (if they even charge at all), but this location is charging $60... just to turn people away without even trying? This isn't just bad customer service, it's misleading and a complete waste of people's time and money--especially when drivers depend on this to work and make a living. If your staff refuses to handle out-of-state registrations, then stop advertising yourselves as an Uber inspection location. I wasted my entire day because someone couldn't be bothered to do the bare minimum. Avoid this place. read more

On June 6th my husband took my Subaru to get inspected and check the AC. After all was "repaired" it was $2,973. Less than a week later my car broke down, came to a complete stop on the highway, because the air compressor was re-installed incorrectly. We had to go get that re-installed, another $200 later, thankfully the new mechanic saw the mistake and didn't charge us for the consultation. But now we had to pay for a tow on top of the damage that was done by Midas. A week goes by after that, my car is leaking oil now. We took it back to the new mechanic to be told the oil drain plug was over tightened. Yet another $120. All we needed was the AC looked at, a new compressor, and a car inspection. Turned into almost $4,000 with the tow truck, two new mechanic trips & the original trip that brought us here. read more

My daughter was visiting from out of state, her car would not start, she took it to this Midas shop as it was a holiday weekend and my regular mechanic was not open, they charged her almost $800 for a battery, alternator and a belt, which seems overpriced. I am thankful that they did fix her car but overcharged her. I would not recommend anyone to get their car fixed here unless you really want to be overcharged!!! You should probably stay away from having Midas do any repairs as they do overcharge people, probably try Mavis tire as they are close to this Midas location. read more

Midis: 2300 Castor Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134 I had to almost argue about the service that I was PAYING for when I walked in the door. I wanted a synthetic blend oil change and tire rotation, and was told my Rouge only calls for the more expensive synthetic blend, after finally showing the employees trying to convince also by (Googling), explaining that I had it done plenty of times with no issues, (also Explaining to Midas that this was my third Nissan lease and besides, I checked with Nissan first and would have been charged and liable from Nissan if any damages would have occurred in the last 9 years having this done) After explanning all that, the employee kept on telling me that I was going to ruin the engin. They made me sign a waiver, then finally decided to give me what I asked and was paying for. 2. This is the second time they have found a nail or plug in my tires, and they didn't rotate them as advertised. I was shown something that looked like a nail in one of the tires and was told that they couldn't rotate them because of a plug and nail found in one of my tires. Two days later, I went to a tire place to pay for a tire rotation, only to find that it wasn't a nail but a small piece of metal on the tread that was not penetrating through the tire. (The mechanic claimed to be a professional and didn't spray soapy water on the piece to see if it was a penetrating nail. I didn't want to go through another long debate when I'm trying to give them my business, so I just paid and left, vowing to never come back to Midis. I mostly never trust five stars because of manipulations, especially when they're mostly at the top of reviews. I don't think I'm ever going back. read more

Everyone was so friendly and called me with an estimate before doing any work. My car was running like a charm afterwards. This is my go to place now for all my car repairs. They overpriced me on two mufflers installed on my car. I have a light color interior and the mechanic left oil smudges on my interior door. The tech wasn't very informative about the condition of my car nor did he discuss any future maintenance that I should be consider. Just not as professional as I would hope. read more

Scheduled a state inspection and oil change one week in advance with an employee over the phone. When we arrived for our scheduled appointment, the staff (a very large and miserable, sweaty man) told us he didn't have time or availability to complete the service and that he didn't see our appointment on the books. He provided no alternative besides suggesting that we leave the car for the day and we can see if he has the time to get to it. Miserable employees, crap service and a complete waste of time. For the record, customer service did indeed reach out to me. And for the record, they did but two things: jack and shit. I asked the rep why they couldn't fix my car for the $1000 dollars that I paid them. He hemmed and hawed and said "Well, sometimes they have to go in more than once to figure it out." He said that the mechanics should have told me that this service might not fix the problem. I told him I would have taken it to another fucking mechanic if I'd be spending $1000 dollars on something that MIGHT NOT EVER WORK. Never in my life have I been so insulted. All I want is a little service for the $1000 I spent. I got nothing. There's a word for that: it's called robbery. I thought it might just be that Midas station that's an incompetant rip-off. But now, corporate also appears unprofessional and toothless. Looks like Midas is another awful chain mechanic, on par with Pep Boys. I am never ever, ever, EVER taking my car to ANY of their locations again, and I'm telling all my friends the same. I'm furious. Do yourself a favor, find a local, honest mechanic. Or at least one who, if they totally fail at fixing your car, will at least OFFER to make another fucking attempt without charging you the other arm and leg. read more
