So... I called them the day before I brought my car in... why is it taking longer and longer to start? I am chauffeuring out of town guests around town and I'm afraid it will stop starting if I don't fix the problem....could it be the alternator? The battery? Midas said "sounds like it's the starter...." They could have one ready to go tomorrow morning so tomorrow morning I brought my car in... they had a bay ready for me. They hooked the car up to some meters and checked everything...the battery...the alternator....the starter.... Tested it for another 30 minutes.... Before saying: "We think you got some bad gas...but a tank of premium and maybe a bottle of engine cleaner and that should fix it right up!" " Your battery, starter and alternator are all fine...No Charge." Im not used to hearing advice like that from my mechanic! He was absolutely right. Sighhhh... i came in to get my tire patched and the guy all sudden checking my hood and told me that my radiator is leaking. He said it's no good and needs to be replaced. He told me it will cost $700 to fix the radiator. So basically he refused to patch my tires and told me I should come back to get the radiator fix and he will fix patch my tires at the same time. Little that he know that I'm knowledgeable about cars. So disappointing. I guess monkey business still exist with shops like this one. BEWARE FROM THE BALD GUY! read more

He says "we don't just put in air, it's $25 to check the tires, etc etc... Have you been here before? (why? These people are idiots, don't take your car here. Told me they couldn't replace a headlightbulb because the fixture was broken. Ordered a new fixture, took it to another shop , an actual repair shop to switch the units and they said it was just the bulb. Now I'm stuck with a brand new headlamp I can't return that cost over $100. Last time they quoted me $400 for something that the other shop fixed for $129. Thought I was making my life easy by going to a shop near my house, bit forget it, take your car to real mechanics. I have an excellent shop if you need one it's just in the city. read more

Great experience and will go back again. I had started back to work, over an hour from home and putting heavy miles on the car. Ar started running a bit sluggish. Service engine light came on and needed a new converter. Car is almost 17 years old, and just rolled 100,000 miles, but not quite ready for new car. They took great care of me replacing the converter, and cleaning up some other issues within the exhaust system. Now it runs great again. Even has a little punch in its step. I went in for an oil change and these guys told me I needed brake pads, rotors and calipers for my rear axle. It took them about an hour and they charged me $372 in labor, the parts were about the same amount, which im ok with. But $372, that's ridiculous. And this is after they told me I would not find a better deal anywhere. That was a complete lie. I have called 3 places and they were all significantly less expensive. I stopped by just thinking I had a leak in my exhaust, but as soon as store manager Freddy looked at my car he found issues with it that made it unsafe for me to even be driving it. He immediately showed me exactly what was wrong, so that I understood what needed to be done. I really appreciated this especially as a female, as I've been automatically treated like I'm clueless at other auto places. Freddy made sure everything was clear about pricing and made it a point to show me why the repairs were needed. I felt very reassured that I was not being charged for any unnecessary work or parts; and I really appreciated the time he took to explain all my options for payment. The repairs were completed in less than 24 hours, and my 10 year old car runs like it's brand new again. I had the most disgusting customer service today. After attempting to make an appointment online, I was told I'd receive a call in an hour. The call never came. Went in around my scheduled time and was told by the store manager that they didn't have enough time for me today, which is fine. I would just go elsewhere. But. On my way out he said I should make an appointment next time. I said I tried but no one called me back. He straight up accused me of lying and tried to prove to me that I never contacted the store. I have the confirmation email with the correct address listed. He just didn't check his records and insulted a customer. I am never returning to another Midas. I drove about a mile down dempster to Merlin and they did my oil change in 20 minutes for 10 dollars less at that! read more

Midas charged me $2373 for repairs. By the time I drove home, my car was smoking and making a grinding sound. I took it to my regular mechanic for an inspection; he found a number of major problems, including missing bolts and an oil leak. Midas had charged me $1374 for a new head gasket to fix the oil leak, but it didn't work. Those were unnecessary repairs. Another Midas location repaired what the first one messed up, but in the meantime, I had to spend $173 on a rental car. The second Midas fixed most issues, but the car is still making a grinding sound, which only started after I picked it up from Midas. I called the customer service hotline twice and requested a full refund and reimbursement for rental car expenses. Both times I called, I was told a regional manager would contact me within 24 hours. That hasn't happened yet. Since I haven't heard from Midas, I plan to file a BBB complaint and also look into what options I have for legal recourse. read more

Which I know is an annoying request but Roger took care of me in 20 minutes and got me to work with plenty of time to spare. I decided to use that time to write him a wonderful yelp review because he was awesome! Not even worth the 1 star I was forced to give. Horrible customer service. This specific location is currently offering a Groupon. Just bought yesterday and went to redeem today, was told some BS about it being offered by previous owner at another location and they refused to honor it. They would rather lose a customer than honor a Groupon that is clearly for their location. And on top of that, when I told them that I would file a complaint I was chased out of the store with a threat of the police being called on me if I ever came back. With that kind of service its no surprise the shop was completely empty of customers. read more

We have been a regular customer to this shop for the last 10 years. On 11/13 my wife took her SUV in for a oil change as we were about to take a road trip to New Jersey and the car was overdue an oil change. I get a call at work from my wife telling that Midas said she needed a new water pump, the mechanic proceeded to show her the water pump housing and attempted to show her an antifreeze leak. She said all she saw was grease. My wife remembered that when she had her timing belt replaced she also go a new water pump, that was 2 years ago. The individual argued that the pump was an OEM model. The whopper was that he said it will cost 1200.00 to replace it. There are a few things that he needed to realize. a. there was never any fluid on our drive way indicating a leak b. the fluid reservoir was still indicating full c. the car has a low fluid level light tied to the reservoir We drove to New Jersey, New York and back and the fluid level never moved. I would like to note that this store recently changed management, for the worse it appears, we will no longer be doing business with this Midas. read more

Long story short I went in for an estimate on my break work and though the estimate was free, it also was a useless unnecessary list that added up to $2,000. Don't get me wrong I agreed with SOME of the stuff that needed fixing. But upon multiple estimates and advice from a mechanic friend, I would be getting REALLY ripped off if I went through with everything they recommended.
